Even though I tend toward the adventurous when trying new recipes, most of the bowls featured here did not look appealing to me at all. Some didn’t sound very filling (fruit with chia seeds?) and others just sounded like a recipe (pardon the pun) for an upset stomach (mackerel or sardine in a bowl?) The author bio mentions that he challenged himself to come up with a new bowl every day, which makes sense because many of these have the air of random crap thrown into a bowl without much thought. Author gets props for creativity and recipes requiring only several items. But, I’m not convinced that the author selected these recipes for taste.

Took this book to Denver when I visited my daughter for a few days. We made several of these delightful and delicious dishes. Easy to prepare from common fresh ingredients. We even made our own combinations. Small bowls from sweet to savory. Using grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, yogurt and herbs. The healthiest and most pleasing to the eye and palate dishes I have seen in one book. A great little number to add to my collection. YUM!
