Kristi Neace offers an unflinching view of the state of Law Enforcement marriages and then gives practical ideas to strengthen them. She uses anecdotes from her own marriage to underscore problems peculiar to Law Enforcement families.Kristi doesn't leave us with a feeling of helplessness, she offers hope to LE families that the glue that now holds her marriage together will work for them.

My LEO husband retired as an investigator after serving in our local police department for 26 years.I found the back and forth scenarios that Kristi painted between LEO husbands and their wives to be spot on. She relates the husband's brain processing to the compartments of a waffle, and the wife's as a maze of spaghetti noodles. The visual picture that painted for me made me laugh, and at the same time underscored how communication is sometimes messy between spouses.

I would strongly suggest both spouses read a chapter a week, then have a date night to discuss and implement the suggestions at the end of each chapter.

Kristi Neace is a sought after author and speaker, and a pioneer in ministry to law enforcement families. In 2010, Kristi founded Badge of Hope Ministries, a 501(c)3, and has since made it her mission to fight for marriage and encourage those who have been affected by the stresses caused by law enforcement life. She and her husband, SRO Rick Neace, their three grown children and grandson reside in Missouri.Kristi was instrumental in ministering directly to the officers of Ferguson, Missouri during the riots of 2014.

A great read for any Law Enforcement marriage. Kristi Neace does an outstanding job in this book of explaining how important key aspects of a marriage are. Communication being among the highest. She shared stories of her own marriage over the years, things they learned through the years and being in this life.

Reading so many of the statistics and how they're stacked against us can be a bit depressing in itself, but knowing it can be done makes you want it that much more. Keeping in mind that you both have to try and put the effort into your marriage. Don't stop dating each other. Let your spouse know how special they are to you. And know that God is in control.

Having a great support system can also help tremendously in this Blue family. I've been part of this family for 15 years now and there have been many times I would have been lost without the comfort and support from other police wives.
