Moonveil and Magic is a wonderful debut novel by A. M. Gold. I was entranced from the first chapter, the writing is witty, clever plotting and likeable main and side characters keep the story interesting and exciting.
Witchy vibes are great, banter and off the charts chemistry between Ivy, Kael and Lucien and their primal shifter energy are absolutely cold shower worthy 😏

This was a fun witchy read. I love the idea of a FMC bookstore owner (because let’s be honest, that’s the dream!) that has to deal with a little forced proximity stuck with two warlocks who both want her. Talk about a “why choose” situation!

Reading Amanda's earlier manuscript allowed me to witness how this woman has grown in her author journey to where she is now. The story was fleshed out in a full-bodied way, with strong and identifiable characters, conflict, plotlines and world building... but Amanda needed just a little push to build her confidence - that's when I came in!

The story focuses on Ivy and her "secrets", where the only option is to remain hidden or trigger issues with the political powers, who will rain mayhem on not only Ivy, but the entirety of the city.

The landscape of this original magical world is somewhere akin to our current modern world and technology, with a heavy dose of magical animal-human hybrids, communities that keep to their own, classes of magic, and of course, Ivy being not only the centre of the drama but also the meat in the "why choose" sandwich!

The novel has several STEAMY scenes where the intimacy is definately written for the female-gaze/female-pleasure, which in my opinion, is extremely valuable. Each smut scene is played out with careful thought, desciptors that make sense in a *position* sense, and are constantly pushing the line with how deliciously filthy x beautifully written they are. Not to mention, you won't see any misogyny in this book - Kael is gruff, Lucien is curated, and while they have bitter history with one another, they are both vying for Ivy's love - and perhaps more?

I’m really enjoyed Moonveil and Magic, it was fun and so easy to read. I love the witchy atmosphere, the bookshop setting and the whole dynamic between Ivy, Kael and Lucien, but I think my favourite part is actually the found family. I love the little group that’s formed around Ivy and the relationships between them — it gives the story so much warmth amongst everything else that’s going on. Everyone is different and contributes
There’s also a lot of mystery woven throughout the story, and I genuinely love that because I’m constantly trying to figure out what’s happening, who everyone really is and how everything connects. At the same time, I think keeping so much hidden has made the world-building a little harder to grasp in places. There have been moments where I’ve had to stop and work out exactly what’s happening or how something fits into the wider world especially in relation to Ivy, her ancestries and the shard. I love mystery but this felt like a little to much I was constantly guessing rather than building internally.
But it hasn’t stopped me enjoying it at all. I’m invested in the characters, I want answers, I love the found-family dynamic, and I’m very much along for the ride.

This was such a fun, mysterious and magical read! I’m an absolute sucker for anything witchy, so I loved the fantasy and magic throughout and Ivy was such a great FMC. The surprises kept me hooked, I LOVED the trio and the spice?! DANG GIRL 🔥

The epilogue was so cute and such a perfect way to wrap everything up. And a special shoutout to the GC baddies HEHE 🤭 loved reading your acknowledgements at the end!

A perfect sweet but spicy urban fantasy! I am completely obsessed with Moonveil & Magic!

It is a fun, refreshing, and beautifully gritty urban fantasy romance.

The chemistry between the FMC and MMC's and the enemies to lovers tension between the rival predators is incredible.

It has the perfect balance of magic, witchy vibes, plot and spice.

Highly recommend adding this to your reading list, it's easily a five-star favourite!!

This book was so engaging and fun. I loved the magical elements and witchy practices. I loved all the characters. The spice was perfect!! A nice amount but the book also had a great plot.  Easy to read. Stayed up very late reading this. Such a cute romantasy!

Ivy is a bookstore owner and well known witch. She meets Lucien and Kael, both warlocks AND shifters. Lucien and Kael have had a 50 year feud. Both dangerous and possessive they claim Ivy ending their rivalry and taking what's theirs. Ivy must fight alongside them and save her town.
