While visiting a reclusive aunt in the mountains of Western Maine, Carol is stranded at night on a desolate road after an automobile accident. When she sets out alone to search for help, she finds herself stalked by vampires and then rescued by an unlikely pair of vampire hunters. Eric and Will are not what they seem at first, though, and Carol is unsure if they are really her heroes or if something more sinister lies behind their actions. Over the next three days, the trio is forced on the run from murderous vampires, and Carol slowly learns the truth about both Will and Eric. Questioning everything she thought she ever knew about the nature of good and evil, Carol must confront difficult questions about the existence of God and where she will spend eternity. When she is captured by the local vampire coven, she faces a life and death choice, and Will and Eric must risk everything in an attempt to save her life.

This was a fast, fun ride where there are sword fights, hints at redemption, a new take on fighting the cursed, and zero sparkly vampires (but one you might love anyhow). I can't wait for the next one! BRING ON the rebellion via The Way. Carol - I'm looking at you to toughen up and learn how to use a sword! Will - I love you but you know I'm #TeamEric.

Mixed feelings....

A fan of this genre. For me this book was too religiously based and felt like a back door conversion aimed at younger readers. Nothing wrong with that just not my taste. Dial the born again Christian rhetoric back some and it would be more palatable. The female character was just annoying with nothing that got you to rally for her. She was disappointing on every level and I have no desire to read any more about this character.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a review.

I really wasn't sure what to expect from the synopsis - vampires and Christianity?!? But this was a fun ride from the beginning. I love that Carol still has doubts. Can't wait for her to join Team Will/Eric. The guys need to give her an awesome sword, get that girl marked and in The Way. Looking forward to book 2!

Was surprised

I was not sure what to expect from the first chapter. You are brought into vampires and God...good and evil. And wonder what carol, will, and eric will do to get thru the mess they are in. Cannot wait to read the second one
