Tired of the 'traditional vampire' novel/pulp/romance?
Want a main character who actually is (mostly) sensible, weight risks, knows what they're doing, has friends and responsibilities?
Read this.
The Feeders are dangerous. The young ones are hungry and stupid with it, while remaining human enough to be a threat. The main character knows what she's doing, and why, and while operating under assumptions that may get her killed she is operating under assumptions that have, until now, kept her alive - and the Feeders not.
Kat, to put it bluntly, has guts and the brains to survive.
Maybe, just maybe, enough of both not to need luck.
(Besides: its a pleasure to read a rip-roaring yarn with plot, observation, an appreciation of good writing style, and plenty of side-eye references to the genre)

Feeding
If this doesn't have a sequel, I'll... be very upset with the author! A new twist on the vampire legend and vampire killers, Kat isn't a superhero and her struggles make the story more real. Excellent characters you want to see more of and see grow. So again - SEQUEL! Action scenes and Easter eggs showing this is someone who had good insider information. And for once the heroine isn't underarmed.
You'll enjoy everything going on in Kat's head asmuch as her reality. I do wonder if Dirk Pitt is her neighbor...
