Imperfect Match: A billionaire, marriage of convenience romance

This audiobook was such a fun escape! Very well produced and running for 13 hours and 50 minutes, it felt like a much shorter story to me, and I attribute that to the engaging narration by Aiden Snow and Desiree Ketchum. They did such a great job with all the different voices that, at some points, I thought it was a full cast production, but it was just the two of them voicing everyone! Super easy to listen to.
It’s always fun to see how things could go when money is no object, and though this is definitely an escapist story where so many things seem too easily convenient or too good to be true, it was so much fun to listen to. It’s quite different from my reality, but that’s exactly why it’s fun to escape into stories like this one.
I loved Charles and Daisy’s dynamic and enjoyed seeing each character’s background emerge as the story progressed. The characters had a lot more depth than I expected, which added more nuance to the overall story.
At points, I was a little irritated with Charles and how he practically let his fear ruin the good thing he had going. It was understandable given his past experiences, but still, for such a powerful, successful guy, I wanted him to have bigger balls and stop being such a wimp 😂. I’m happy Daisy stuck to her strong and competent ways and didn’t completely lose herself in the midst of it all, as painful as it was.
It’s a slow burn, with some spice and emotional moments too. Overall, I enjoyed it and would recommend the audiobook if you’re a fan of billionaire romances.

Billionaires in fiction will always do it better! This is book 1 of the Elixir Bachelor Billionaires series from Vikki Jay and it features DUET narration from two of my favorites, Desireé Ketchum and Aiden Snow.
Small town, traditional family values put Charles Hawthorne's position as CEO in jeopardy and only a marriage of convenience with his assistant, Daisy will solve the problem. Daisy has her own reasons for entering the fake marriage but it doesn't take long for these two realize they just might be meant to be.
This is a bit of a slow burn, with Charles expecting Daisy to beg for it but in the end, he falls first and he ends up begging for it in more ways than one.
One thing I loved about this book is that Daisy knew what she wanted and made it clear she wasn't going to settle for anything or anyone less than she deserved.
The DUET narration with Desiree Ketchum and Aiden Snow is what brought me to this book but I am excited to continue the series after meeting the other future bachelors and bachelorettes in Cherrywood.
