If you're in the mood for a short vampiric mafia (?) book, this might be for you.

The blurb gave away nothing but once I got an understanding of what was going on I thought this would be a perfect read. Aiden is a vampire while Severnis half vampire half angel who has been living in hiding with his abusive father. When Aiden gives Severn a chance to escape and reunite with his mother he takes the chance of the unknown.

Personally, I felt this was lacking. I'll chalk it up to it being so freaking short! I think this needed a bit more polishing as some parts were repeated or I needed to go back and reread due to one thing happening and then something else a paragraph later. Visionary didn't seem to really grasp the story it wanted to tell. This one just isn't for me.

Aimee-Jo Hunter pulls readers into a dark paranormal world filled with vampires, angels, danger, and a romance that proves the line between monster and protector can be razor thin. I loved the unique combination of a half-vampire, half-angel protagonist, the darker emotional themes surrounding Severn’s past, and the connection that develops between Severn and Aiden. There’s plenty of tension, supernatural intrigue, and an underlying darkness that gives the story an addictive gothic edge. Their relationship brings a softer element to an otherwise brutal world, making the emotional moments hit even harder.

Severn is a half-vampire, half-angel who has spent his life trapped under the control of his abusive father, Ceril. When an opportunity finally arises to escape, he finds an unexpected ally in Aiden, a vampire who sees something worth protecting beneath Severn’s fear and trauma. Aiden works as an art trader for Vea and is sent by her to retrieve a few paintings. But Vea wants more. She wants Severn. And she enlists the help of Aiden to get him.

As Aiden helps Severn navigate a dangerous supernatural world, their connection quickly becomes something deeper. But freedom comes with consequences, and Severn must confront the past he has spent so long running from… including the mystery surrounding his mother. With danger closing in and their growing feelings complicating everything, Aiden and Severn must decide how much they’re willing to risk everything for a chance at freedom, family, and love.

If you’re looking for a dark M/M paranormal romance with vampires, angels, trauma, danger, and a touch of forbidden attraction or are a fan of Supernatural, Visionary is definitely one to add to your TBR. The only downfall I’d say about the book is that it’s way too short. The story felt a little rushed, like it could have expanded a little longer for the storyline and plot. But I’d still recommend this one to readers who love their romance dark, their supernatural creatures dangerous, and their love stories anything but ordinary.

I was privileged to he part if the Arc for the amazing Aimee Jo-Hunter. Here is my review on this great read :)

Visionary was my first venture into this genre, and I really enjoyed it.

I loved Aimee Jo Hunter’s writing style. It was easy to read, pulled me into the story and kept me wanting to find out more. There were quite a few characters to get to know, which was sometimes a little overwhelming, but they were all interesting in their own way.

Severn was definitely my favourite. I loved his character and found myself most invested in his story. The world and storyline felt different to anything I have read before, making this a really enjoyable introduction to the genre.

A solid four-star read, and I would definitely be interested in reading more from this author.

This was soooo cute, you’ve got the sweet cinnamon roll MMC who’s had a hard life, and the aloof bad boy MMC who’s gonna protect him at all costs and then you put them under the same roof. I’m a sucker for some forced proximity especially of the MM variety 😈😈 it definitely gives you kind of a futuristic vibe, I was a bit confused about all of the types of species, but the hybrids that were in this was definitely new to me and that had me hooked. It does leave you wanting to know what happens next and about some of the side characters

Ok so this story took me a minute to get into ( Me and Pisces always butt heads 🫣🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ ). But Once I found my rhythm within the story and the connection with the Characters it was on like donkey Kong 🤭🤭 The story was amazing I loved the Vampires, Angels, Werewolves and other beings all coexisting. I absolutely LOVED The MMCs Aiden and Sevren perfect match and I am sooooo excited that there's going to be more because I absolutely need more of Des and Milo

It took me a while to get into the story, but I ended up really liking this short book. Both MMCs, Aiden & Sevren, seemed like intrigued characters and I would love to learn more about them. Also, I need a book about Des lol.

A dark mafia with Vampires, Angels and whole host of other supernatural characters are the premise of this book. Aiden and Sevren seem to be so perfect together. It did take me a minute to get into it, but I think that's because this isn't my typical genre, but once I understood a bit more of what was going on and how the story was going to unfold I found it really enjoyable. It's a short, fast paced story. I will admit though, I do need to know more about Des.

Ok the idea of this story is so fun and different. Aiden & Severn were so cute together 🥺 but I’m also super confused, things started jumping around at the end and it didn’t make much sense to me. Severn pulled at my heartstrings, my heart was breaking for him. Such a sweet innocent soul who never knew love. Until he found his savior, They are perfect together and watching them grow closer and fall for each other did things to my heart. This was such a good little taste to a bigger story that I’m on pins and needles for.
