Due to language, sexual content and sexual violence, this book is intended for readers of the age 18+

Since Marissa Taylor’s narrow escape from her would be killer, she’s been on the run. He continues to hunt her leaving behind a trail of misery, and even the FBI can’t catch him.

When Kalil Masters, an agent in a CIA Special Operatives Unit is sent to “capture or kill” this predator, he is prepared to use any means necessary, even if it is using Marissa as bait.

Playing on Marissa’s trust is the hardest thing that Kalil has ever had to do, but the ends justify the means, don’t they?

This story was a thrilling suspenseful and romantic read. It will show you how far you would go to keep the ones you love safe.

The author touches a couple of taboo issues but I believe this only added to the buildup of the character of the Killer. It gave you some insight into his mind and why he might have been the way he was. The details were not overly descriptive but spot on to make it flow perfectly.

We get to meet a close group of friends who will do anything for each other, even pick up in the middle of the night and head to a new town that they have never heard of. Why you ask, to keep one of their friends safe. You see she has a killer after her. Marissa Taylor escaped him once but since then she has been on the run for the past 9 years. When women’s bodies start to show up in or near the town that she is living in, she runs again.

But sooner or later the Killer will find you. What he doesn’t realize is that not only does Marissa have her best friends with her but also Kalil Masters.

Kalil is CIA Special Operatives Unit. He takes his job seriously. But this mission may become his hardest yet. He has never been in love, sure he has had his fair share of women but no one has made him want more until he lands his eyes on his mission, Marissa.

Will Kalil be able to protect Marissa from the Killer. Can they catch the Killer before he kills anymore women? Are Kalil and Marissa able to fight the attraction that they feel for each other and is it more than just physical attraction?

I am looking forward to reading more books from this author. She has a fan after reading this book.

Kalil was a good read. I had a little trouble getting into the story. You know when you turn a TV show on ten or so minutes lat, you feel lost for a little bit up then you can usually catch up to speed. Well that's kind of how I felt in the beginning of this book. The background of the characters slowly comes out and then everything fells into please and made sense.

Kalil is a strong alpha male. Kalil is an agent in the CIA Special Operatives Unit. He and his team have a job to watch Marissa Taylor. Marissa goes by the name Shalo, she has been running from a serial killer, West, that she once escaped from. Shalo has two great friends, Shonda and Rici, that have been with her every step of the way. I loved that all three of them are strong independent women.

Kalil is attracted to Shalo and they start a relationship. He is not up front with her and doesn't tell her that he and his team are watching her and looking out for West. Every time West has gotten close to her again she has moved, this time she doesn't know he is close. I cringed every time there was a West part to read. West is really crazy and some of things his does are hard to read.

There are somethings that are tough to read. Kalil is not a light and fluffy read but it's a good read.

I really liked this book.It's dark and there are some parts that are not so easy to read, but dark is my favourite so I'm not complaining!
The story started out slow, but once you get to know of every character it becomes easier!
Kalil is a special agent and his job is to protect Marissa, aka Shalo, from a killer, the same one that is leaving corpse after him. They believe he is looking for Shalo and the way to catch him is by staying near Shalo. What he didn't know is that it would be hard to stay away from her.
Shalo has 2 best friends, Rici and Shonda; they are always together and they helped Shalo when she needed. Whenever that crazy psycho is near, they up and leave to start all over again.
This time is different, because Shalo has find a reason to stay and she doesn't want to leave..Kalil.
It's a really great story, lots of layers and different characters and some crazy happens..I can't wait to read book 2 and find out more!

Wow....where to start. This book was a little darker than what I normally read...being inside the mind of a serial killer was pretty freaky. But I loved the story, I loved the passion & I loved how deeply involved everyone was about protecting Shalo. There were some gruesome serial killer parts, but also lots of sexy/hot chapters with the big hunky men in the Special Operations unit. This isn't your fairytale love story, but if you are a fan of hot/sexy men, Criminal Minds & SVU, you will want to check this one out. I'm looking forward to reading Book 2 Jade's story. Stephanie is an author I will definitely want to read again!!

I would have read this in one day if not having gotten sick and had a beta come through. But WOW!! This is an amazing book for a first book!! Way to go Stephanie!! Kalil is intended for readers 18+. It has some gruesome scenes in it and some hot steamy moments as well! Gruesome scenes don't effect me and so I loved the book! It's written like your inside the serial killers head and can see why he is the way he is and it keeps you on edge!! Shalo is tired of running, west has caught her once but she is determined to not let that happen again seeing how she had escaped him at his first attempt. A special forces group is assigned to protect her and Kalil has no intentions of getting involved until he gets to know her! This is a must read book if you can't stomach being inside the mind of a serial killer some people skip pages but it's worth the read even if you skip parts tho you won't understand a few things if you do. I applaud Stephanie Reynolds for a fantastic first book and a wonderful story!! If you haven't read this put it on your list or go get your copy now you won't regret it!! :)

Once I got into this book, I couldn't put it down. The cast of characters is smart and sexy, and I enjoyed being part of their lives. The plot was incredibly exciting. I didn't have a clue how it would end, and I was not disappointed once I got there. The author winds together two thrilling missions that the team executes, and the tension propels the book right to the end.

I did find some of the writing "bulky" at times with some repetition, but the plot was so compelling, I could put that aside and enjoy the story.

I enjoyed this A LOT!

Well that was quite a ride! This book had it all.. It was dark, full of suspense and surprise!! I must admit a few parts of the book I did find hard to read but it helped to understand West's frame of mind.

From the moment I picked this book up I knew it was going to be the page turner it had lots going on in the story to keep us on our toes yet explained all the characters and story without straying from the plot. It was well written and tied in nicely.

Can't wait to see what comes next!

~~~~~~~~~~Dee's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
This is a very exciting, thrilling story with shoot outs, explosions, kidnappings, hostage situations and torture. Marissa has been running for years from a serial killer. Kalil is a Special Ops Agent sent to go undercover to protect her. But what he didn't count on was falling in love with his client. The development of their relationship through the secrecy and danger is beautiful. The sudden twists and surprises keeps one on the edge of their seat. Descriptions of the action scenes are so detailed it is like watching it on the big screen. (I can easily see Keanu Reaves as Kalil and Sandra Bullock as Marissa!). Breathtaking with lots of noise and heart stopping moments, lots of passion and tender emotions. I was given an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. Five Stars.
~~~~~~~~~~Amanda's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~

Another great read by S. Reynolds. The story of Kalil and Shalo is intense and suspenseful. It will grab your attention from the start. The details definitely don't leave anything out. It is a fast paced and easy read that will keep you on your toes. It played through my head like a movie and I was not disappointed. I'm ready for the second book in the series and the story of Jade.

~~~~~~~~~~Ashley's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
I received ARC copy for a honest review. Shalo has been through and suffer a lot but always try to protect her friends. Kalil wasn't looking for a relationship until he saw her and he will do everything he can to keep her safe.
~~~~~~~~~~Sharlene's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~

A copy of this title was received in exchange for an honest review.

Who doesn't love an alpha military agent who is undercover protecting a strong yet soft female victim? This girl does. And the sex scenes that go with this story don't hurt either. Kalil takes one look at Shona and wants her. Shona feels the same way but is scared to get to close to anyone after she had been kidnapped and tortured years before. The characters are well written, even the secondary ones. There are a whole crew of men on Kalil's team that are touched on a little bit in this first installment of the Special Operations Command series. Here's hoping that each team member gets their own story. BDSM is touched upon in this story but it plays a small part compared to the rest of the story. Some scenes are disturbing as they are told from the POV of a serial killer - rape, torture, murder are all involved. But again, they play a small part of the total story.

This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone and does have an HEA.

~~~~~~~~~~Virginia's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~
This is my first book by S. Reynolds and I can say that this book draws you and get you hanging with all the actions. There is a lot of mystery, action and Intrigue of what will happen next in the book with Kalil and Marissa.
When Kalil is assign to protect Marissa from a serial killer, he would never believe that his life would change with meeting Marissa. What length will Kalil go to protect Marissa from all the danger that are in her life.
Even through Kalil comes through as Alpha man, he quickly learns that Marissa has taken care of herself for 9 years on the run.
This is a book that is definite for 18+, with some of the dark nature, but it is written so well in to the story line that you will not want to miss it.
OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE BOOK This is a definite read from S. Reynolds and can’t wait to see what happens in the next book
ARC was provided for an honest review.
~~~~~~~~~~Tasha's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~

In this book we meet Kalil Masters his brother Kade . Kalil is home in Chicago working on a case with his special ops team.They are protecting Marisa “Shalo” Taylor who years ago consented to go on a date with a guy “west” who became obsessed with her and wouldn't take no for an answer and he kidnapped her and tortured her but she managed to escape. West spent the next years tracking her and her two best friends all over the country resulting in Shalo fleeing from town to town for her safety. Meanwhile West keeps abducting and murdering women that look like Shalo. Enter Kalil and his team. Can they earn Shalos trust without blowing their cover? Can they catch West before its too late? Will Shalo and her friends find safety and be able to stop running find love and settle down ? I really liked this book a lot so much that I am currently reading book 2 Jade

~~~~~~~~~~Lillian's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Shalo was kidnapped & tortured but she was able to escape from West. She and her two friends have been on the run ever since. Kalil and his team are sent to protect her and to stop West before he finds her again. Kalil is drawn to her but he can't be honest with her. She can't know that he is CIA and that is a job. But that changes the more time they spend together. Shalo feels safe but will that last? Can Kalil keep her safe from West or will something stop him and his team. I loved that we got to meet his team and some of their history together. The story moves along at a great pace lots of action and some steaming sex. The story is so exciting and kept me wanting more. I finished it in one setting it just drew me. I am sure that we will see more of some of the team in the next books. I received this copy in exchange for an honest review.
If you ever needed proof of how far one person will go to keep safe their loved ones- then this book is a must read.
Kalil is special ops, but his trickiest case may just be the woman before him because when Marissa enters his life – everything he ever thought he knew and wanted – changed, one blink of her eyelids and his heart was sold to its new owner!
The book is not just a romantic journey for Kalil and Marissa it has more than its fair share of mystery and intrigue.
Marissa was witness to a crime –and although it may have been years before – she still isn’t safe because despite the fact that she has an amazing group of friends who are willing to drop everything in a heartbeat to keep her safe – she feels anything but safe, especially when a spate of murders in her hometown leave a trail of bodies that she cannot ignore –her fight or flight instinct kicks in and just like that, she is off again.
The killer, West has tracked her down again and has her firmly in his sights this time but Marissa has a trump card, she has Kalil Masters to protect her and he is not a man to mess with.
CIA Special Ops is a job that Kalil lives and breathes for, it is the reason he gets up every morning and it is what he is darn good at but his latest deployment is to protect Marissa – simple you may think and I have to say I would have thought that too but for the first time, Kalil might just have a personal reason for making sure his mission is a success
Kalil is what you would expect from a man in his position – a true alpha and I adored him. He is just so male… if that makes sense.
But Marissa is no shrinking violet either, sure she may be on the run but she is a tough cookie – I mean she has survived 9 years on the run from the man that wants her dead and still does.
The story had so many questions- Could they find the killer? Would Kalil and Marissa give into the blatantly obvious attraction that was between them?
Would Marissa understand when Kalil yells her the real reason he is in town – I mean I know why he doesn’t tell her that he is there to watch and protect her but secrets like that never end smoothly. I had my fingers crossed for them both..
I have to say that while I liked Kalil and Marissa – I found the whole West situation really hard to get a handle on and the man himself was bat shit crazy!
Some parts of this book are not for the faint hearted and could easily fall under the description of being a dark read but the whole book definitely falls under the description of being a damn good one!
This story starts off so sexy, in a club called the Dome on a mission Kalil and his team try to stay focused, but seem to be distracted by the club and one woman in particular, Shalo.
It grabs your attention from the beginning; the author did a great job at setting things up for the reader. We have an alpha male, Kalil who is fierce, strong, and is falling for the girl he is served to protect from a serial killer. Shalo, is no doormat, she may like to be a little submissive in the bedroom, but outside she is loyal to her friends and is a very strong woman.
There is a lot going on in this story and I felt the author did a great job at writing a story full of action and sex, while introducing us to characters we may fall in love with and look forward to reading more about in other books. Most of all, this story was dark; sometimes I was happy I was reading in the daytime. (aha) It has a twisted plot. The reason Kalil is protecting Shalo, is to catch a serial killer. The author gives us sneak peaks in his mind and has chapters from his POV. It was definitely one of the creepiest stories I have ever read, it pushed me in that way. I felt like it was a dateline special, these girls were ending up being tortured, raped, and killed. I think she gave us enough of a peak into his mind to know how sadistic he was, and let me tell you his mind is ugly and damaged. However, I felt the author found a way to balance this dark world with light and love between Kalil and Shalo.
Kalil and Shalo are sexy, they like to play, but more importantly they fall in love with one another. I really liked Kalil and Shalo when they were together. Kalil shows he can be tender and the fierce protector Shalo needs. Shalo shows that she has a lot going on for herself, between her soft side and the way she can defend herself, there was nothing I didn't like about them as a couple. This story may have pushed me emotionally given that Kalil and his team were trying to catch a serial killer, but I enjoyed reading something different. As creepy as the story was, it was just as sexy and romantic! At times, I think because of the danger lurking, the couple was even more erotic.
I found this book exciting and thrilling, and I couldn’t put it down. We were chasing the killer, we were falling in love, and we were laughing with their friends. I felt that S. Reynolds put me in their world, and I wanted to be in their world until the end. I am looking forward to reading more!
*Gifted in exchange for an honest review* 3/5 - 4 stars
I'm starting on a negative, which I hate doing, but I feel I need to gt it out of the way. It took me 3 attempts to get into this book, normally i'd put it down and come back to it again and continue but for some reason I found myself having to go right back to the beginning of the book and start again. Like I say, can't put my finger on what it was, it just is. I couldn't get a hook on the characters or the story to begin and that fact frustrated me to no end. I put it away. Left it for a week then tried again, persevered and after a few chapters found myself inside a great little read! Seriously readers....get over the hurdle and give this a go, it's so very worth the struggle.
The book blossoms, grows with you, characters begin to be likeable and ultimately you find yourself caught up in a fab little story of murder, suspense and romance. Throw in some quite seedy and dark ministrations from the villan, and some scorching hot scenes between the sheets and you're there. Not quite the page turner I would have liked but there is more than enough in here to pull me along at a comfortable pace.
It's extremely well put together and thought out for a first romantic suspense book. I commend S Reynolds for that. Her research was there, her plot and sub plots were spot on, interesting characters in spades, developed really fantastic as well. Has quite a gritty bite to it in places. I felt it moved a little too quick in places, I know insta-love happens but I sometimes find it unfathomable in some books. Maybe the build up wasn't quite there for me. An all round decent story, looking forward to more :)
I haven't discussed the story here, that's not what I do. After all you can read that in the synopsis. I try to review in a way that gives you my opinion on how it made me feel, how it felt reading it, what was perhaps missing for me. I enjoyed this, but I really wish it had the hook from the start. Great read, definitely worth the time :)
Wow! I cant really start any other way. I will start by saying that I was kinda worried because I dont normally care for BDSM nor "millitary". But let me tell you, OMG! This was a BDSM even I enjoyed. It was more aimed towards what I enjoy. And Kalil and his team? Just no words. What a great group of guys that I felt like I got to know pretty well. Ms. Reynolds really did an excellent job of keeping me glued to what what happening.
Kalil was sent on a mission unlike any others he had been on. This one was more one on one. He was used to going into hostile lands, finding the "bad guys", and terminating the threats. Then he got a call form his boss, telling Kalil that he needed him on a special assignment. A woman needed finding. Well to be more specific, a man that was stalking this woman needed to be found. The only way to do that was to find and protect her until the serial psycho came calling. And since he was leaving his "calling cards" all over the city Shalo was now in, they knew he was close.
Shalo and her friends were still watching over their shoulders. Would they ever be able to stop running and enjoy lives? Shalo knew it was her fault her 2 best friends had never been able to find love for themselves. They had never been able to stay in one place longer than a year before redheaded bodies started showing up. Then they would pack and leave again. Then she meets Kalil. He makes her want to stay and fight instead of running again. And her friends are finally finding happiness she cant stand to take away.
There are plot twists, and just when you see the enemy coming head on, well you will get side swiped. It was a wonderful read and I loved every minute of it.
PLEASE BE ADVISED TO THE WARNINGS THOUGH. This is NOT a warm fuzzy book. It will NOT make you feel gooshy and wonderful. ANd definitely has triggers.
I was gifted a copy of Kalil by the author in exchange for an honest review. That in no way changes my opinion of this book.
As a fair warning, this book touches topics and subjects that are not appropriate for younger readers, and maybe even some older readers may have a hard time with it. I was able to overlook that, and found that the storyline behind it all was wonderful, and if you give this book that chance, you may find the same to be true.
Kalil, the main male character, is an agent in the CIA Special Ops Unit. He takes his job very serious, and lets nothing stand in the way of the mission at hand. However, this mission takes the cake, so to speak, and the one he needs to be protecting just may be the one to distract him the most.
Kalil and his team is placed on a mission to watch, and protect, the main female character, Marisa, also known Shalo. Shalo has been running from West, a serial killer that she escaped from 9 years ago. But bodies start piling up again in her new place, and she had no choice but to run again. Her two best gal friends, Shonda and Rici, are by her side, and the three of them are dynamic, strong, and independent women.
Kalil and Shalo are very attracted to each other, and against better judgement, begin a relationship. But is it a good idea to become romantically involved with the one person you were sent out to protect? More so, since Shalo doesn’t even know that Kalil and his team are watching her, while trying to find West? Will Kalil be able to protect her from West, or is he finally one step ahead of them all?
OMG, what to say about this book. The book did start off slow to begin with but then it suddenly just took off. In the end, I loved the book. I could not put it down once it really got into it. There was a lot of details that would tell the reader who the characters were and what they were feeling. You can get into what was happening to them and what the other characters that were in there were going through. They go into detail about what happened in the past and what is going on in the future. When you look at the whole picture about what both characters had gone through in the past and what brought them together in the future, it is something that could actually really happen in real life. Yes, sometimes what all happened to both the characters would not happen all the time to someone but you never know what could actually happen to anyone. The author showed much emotion in the book and left it actually in a high spot to finish the book off. When it is a happy ending for both main characters for the most part that is a great thing. The only thing that I would warn people about is if you don't like reading about murders and other very gruesome details, this is not a book for you. Great book and definatly would tell my friends to get this book when it comes out as most of my friends would read these kind of books. Great job to the author on the writting and can not wait for the next book to come out in the future.
KALIL.....
What do you do when you escape a killer and he’s still hunting you? You hide until he catches you… Several women have turned up raped, tortured and murdered, leaving a trail of bodies that is keeping even the FBI one step behind. Since Marissa Taylor’s narrow escape from her would be killer, she has been on the run, with her two best friends, for the past seven years living in extreme fear and distrust of others. When she meets Kalil, she finally gives in to her urges to keep him as her own. But will she trust him to keep her safe? Kalil Masters, an agent in a CIA Special Operatives Unit, and his team are sent in with a ‘capture or kill’ orders, even if that means using the first victim as bait.
That might be harder than Kalil realized.
*Wow! What a suspenseful ride that was. I strangely enjoyed being in the mind of the killer. Even though it was small bits and pieces here and there. I really enjoyed seeing the relationship grow between Kalil and Marissa. I was hooked from the very first page. I just kept wanting to know what was going to happen next. With each new twist I was even more enraptured in the story. Strangely I actually liked that you learn more about each characters background throughout the story, not all at once. It helps with the build up. I would highly recommend this book.
Special Operations Command Series Book One
by S. Reynolds
Learning to Love With Life On the Run! A Hot, Fast Paced, Plot Driven Love Story!
I was provided with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Kalil is a warrior. He has worked around the world for the CIA protecting the US from foreign threats. When given a dangerous mission, Kalil and his team are ready to do what they need to do to get the job done. When the team is given an assignment in Chicago, he thinks that it will be an easy case, but once he meets the woman he is to protect, Shalo, he knows that this case is going to get very complicated.
Shalo has been on the run for years. One date with a serial killer, who is now obsessed with the one who got away, has caused Shalo and her best friends to be run for years. When women start to show up dead, that resemble her, she knows that she will not be able to stick around too long. Will someone catch the serial killer before he catches her, or will she be the next victim.
Kalil and Shalo are a steamy couple. Although this book is a romance, it also includes a well developed plot line including lots of action and adventure. A definite must read.
Oh lordy! Talk about a hot, erotic, thrilling read. Think military ops, CIA,FBI, NSA, and all sorts of those other acronyms pulled together into one big cooking pot and you have this book. Murder, deceit, lies, ghosts - well, not really a ghost, but a live person thought dead years ago....Kalil and his team are brought in to protect a woman from a stalker turned serial killer. A confirmed bachelor, and his team, Kalil and the boys take their job seriously. Until Shalo comes into Kalil's life and he moves beyond the bounds of professionalism just to set the tone for him being around as a body guard without her knowing it. I cannot wait to read book two in this series. I hope there are more books coming for each of the men on the team. This is really a book that covers a variety of tastes, with hot, sexy, military men that are buffed and look good.
***REVIEWED FOR SARAH & KIRSTY'S BOOK REVIEWS***
I love a dark romance read and so I was excited to read this one. It didn’t disappoint. I struggled a bit at the beginning to get into it but I think that was more on my end than anything to do with the author’s writing. As I got into it more though, I felt like I was watching my favourite crime drama! My favourite scenes were definitely the ones from the POV of the killer, it was a total mind f*ck and I LOVED it! There was a lot of drama, mystery and suspense but it worked well with the theme of the book. I adored Kalil from the start; I am a sucker for a military man. I loved Shola from the beginning because despite everything she was strong. In fact I loved all of the characters. I hope they all get their own books as I would love to see how their stories play out. This is a fantastically dark read with a HEA. Superb work. 5 stars!
~Ms. Me28~
Kalil, an amazing read from S. Reynolds.
From the start up to the last, I was hooked with the story.
The story and the characters are amazing.
The characters, Kalil and Marissa are interesting.
Marissa, a mysterious woman who is hiding and running from someone.
Kalil, a hot-dom agent who is will rock your world.
An assignment brought them together and Kalil is determined to know the mystery about Marissa and to determine and capture the killer who is on the loose.
As the story goes, the chemistry of the two is cannot be denied.
Things will get more interesting and intense when the killer had set his eyes on Marissa.
What I love about this book is that it’s intense and full of suspense that will make you more intrigued on who the killer is and will they have enough time to save the one they truly loved.
S. Reynolds nailed it!
This book is amazing! From the very beginning it grabbed by attention and I had a really hard time putting it down. The story line was new and not something that has been told over and over again.
Kalil and Shalo were great together and I loved seeing the hard military man fall into being a loving partner. When Shalo finally trusts and lets someone get close to her she couldn't have picked a better person.
I was a little sad at the ending (won't tell you why so I don't ruin it for you) but that actually tells you how good the book was. If I hadn't been so wrapped up in the story and felt connected to the characters I wouldn't have been sad.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone. It is a must read and I started the second book in the series immediately upon finishing this one!
I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review.
This is a slow burner with a build up towards the main part of the story. There are parts of this story that aren't nice to read about but you do have to read all parts to fully understand the mindset of the serial killer. Trust me, you will feel really sorry for those girls, even knowing that it's not real and there is nothing you could do anyway.
This is very well written and put together and will leave you wanting more. The love build up is slow and steady, although the lust is instantaneous, which makes a nice change in this era of insta-love.
For a book on the darker side of romance suspense but with added dashes of humour and deep friendships then definitely give this one a go! Recommended.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Marissa aka Shalo is on the run from a serial killer. One she has escaped from before. Kalil is a CIA agent. his team is put in charge of watching Marissa. Kalil has to protect Marissa without letting her know and as their relationship heats up will she be able to trust him.
I have to admit it took me quite a while to get into the story. Once I did I enjoyed the the suspense. There are some extremely dark parts in the book. I have a few moments where in the book you get into the mind of the serial killer and it can get quite graphic. There are some great hot sexy scenes. Who wouldn't want a hot alpha CIA agent looking after them. So if you like dark romantic reads this is the book for you.
I LOVE Kalil!!!! This is such a great book because every character involved in Kalil and Shalo's lives are AWESOME. They are caring, loving and passionate about what they do and who they love.
Shalo is always running from her past but she such a strong and independant woman. She HATES being stuck between a rock and a hard place but at least she's got her girls beside her :)
Kalil is sexy, smart, protective and so passionate about his work. He never expected to find someone that he could connect with because his work is so demanding. Being part of the CIA, his team is always traveling for their missions and do not have time for a life of their own.
I love this book and am excited to start the next book in this series!!
When I first started reading, I was taken back a bit. IT's definitely a hawt one. Kalil, in charge of protecting Shalo never thought he would be attracted to her in such a way that he would do anything to keep her safe. Shalo, being stalked by a lunatic, runs across the country trying to keep herself safe. She is also followed by her two best friends.
Keeping Shalo safe is the first thing Kalil tried to do; although he does end up falling for her. A series of murders with the stalker m.o. start showing up and the urgency increases. I really enjoyed this book. Well done S. Reynolds. I can't wait to read more.
Stephanie Reynolds is a very talented writer considering this is her first book. I loved how well the characters blended together. the relationships that took place and the tragedy made it all better. kalil masters will always be the protective alpha male no matter the situation.
I would love to read more about Kalil's story. do they get married?,what is the baby's gender? do they have more children?
those are just a few questions going through my head, but most of all right now I can't wait to read Jade.
Kalil and his team is sent to help protect Shalo (Marissa) from the serial killer she was able to escape from in the past. West has caught up to her again, and this time, it is up to Kalil to save her.
Shalo meets Kalil and she just can't stay away from him. With him she feels safe. When she needs him, he is there.
This is a book full of mystery, suspense, action, and passion. I would give this a half more star.
This book is not for the faint at heart! There were a lot of dark and sometimes downright scary parts to the book, but so worth the read! I don't think my heart slowed down until I got to the end! Kalil and Shalo make the perfect pair as shown by the steamy sex scenes! This book has it all...murder, sex, laughter, sadness and my favorite, a little bondage! This was a great story and can't wait to read the others in the series!
I was a bit lost at first wondering what was going on but once I got into the story it was a great read. I felt like I was reading more then one story having different stories coming through but all tieing together. The interaction between the main female lead Shalo and her friends and the main male lead Kalil made for more of an interesting read. Overall I highly recommend this to anyone wanting a different type of story then just a romance.
First page, first line I'm hooked! Sex, playroom, and so many hot guys.. where can you go wrong?!
Shalo (Marisa) had a terrible event happen to her and spend much of her adult life running from state to state with her two best friends.
Tons of action and excitement in this eroticaction story. Loved loved loved this book!!
S. Reynolds has got a new reader for sure ❤
