[ROSIE]

I might be the last human on earth.

It sounds like the plot of a cheap doomsday movie, except it's not. And the infected didn't turn into slow-moving zombies. They became something between human and wolf, and far more dangerous than either.

Five months pregnant, I was separated from the survivors in the ruins. When the pack pinned me down, I closed my eyes and waited for it to be over.

They didn't kill me. They caged me, fed me, and guarded me. And, inexplicably, they revered me.

Then, a month later, a man walked through the manor gates. The man who was supposed to be dead. My husband, Leo. Every monster bowed to him.

In the blood-red light of the setting sun, he wore my husband's face—but his eyes were cold as an abyss.

"I'm not him. Step back."

[ALPHA LEO]

I told one lie because I couldn't let her leave.

Then I told her that her husband could only take back control of this body at night.

That turned out to be a mistake. It means I can only kiss her in the dark.

There's always another lie waiting. I don't care. As long as she stays in my arms, none of it matters.

Until our son sprouted wolf ears on the nursery floor.

I'm going to need a bigger lie.

Wellllll

I give it five stars bc I truly enjoyed it minus a few things that ticked me off!!! First off I love the story. The set , the play, characters, and deeper hidden features in the characters especially leo. Rosie on the other hand I liked alllll the way until she did what she did to her son and thennnnnn to Leo. I dont give a rats butttt about her fear but what she did in her over-freaking reaction to her son I wanted to jump through and strangle her. I wouldn't care if my child had a tree growing out of their head they are MY children and I'd die for them. Then her soft yellow bellied boohoo I'm afraid of things different then what I'm used too so I have to make everyone adapt for me bc I can't handle it, I just realllllyyyyy want to punch her in the face. Idc if she sort of or kind of came around in the end. Unbelievable!! Put ya big girl undies on and stomp a foot and say what's up!!.

Buttttt other than the weak mind of fmc I loved the entire book. 😘

Interesting…

This went a bit into urban fantasy, which I think is a first for this author! And I really enjoyed it.

A virus hits and it causes people to turn. But it’s like a parasite that could rebuild limbs and organs. So the FMC, Rosie, is pregnant and her husband was killed in the line of duty. But he comes back, or at least something that looks like him. And he tells her that he is not Leo, her husband. He just used parts of his body and grew everything back.

KU. I have to say that this is a weird one but it was well done. I like the ending… and there’s another chapter in Leo’s POV to get.
