Slaycation #5

Sinners Reunion

**THIS IS THE FINAL MAIN BOOK IN THE SLAYCATION SERIES**

The road to love is paved with bad decisions

Josie

Five years ago, King introduced me to a whole new world, broke my heart, and disappeared without a trace.

I finally stopped looking for him.

So naturally, the first familiar face I see after being kidnapped is his.

When I find out they’re leaving on a cross-country road trip, there’s no way I’m staying behind. King might object, but I strike a deal that gets me exactly what I want.

A spot on the trip.

And, much to his horror, a seat in his RV.

King

There are thousands of miles between Florida and our final destination.

I’m not sure Josie and I will survive the first ten.

Five years ago, I walked away from the little minx because I thought it was best for both of us. Now she’s back, befriending my friends, insulting me at every opportunity, and reminding me exactly why leaving her was so bloody difficult.

Our arguments become flirtations. The flirtations become something far more dangerous.

And the longer Josie stays by my side, the more I realize she fits into my life better than she ever did before.

I let her go once because I thought I was doing the right thing.

I’m not sure I’m strong enough to do it again.

The Sinners are hitting the road! Sinners Reunion is a second-chance dark romantic comedy packed with wicked banter, forced proximity, inappropriate behavior, and one unforgettable cross-country adventure.

Buckle up. This reunion is about to get messy.

Tropes:

Big age gap (30 years)
Forced proximity
Enemies to lovers

Bet on not falling in love
He taught her everything she knows (including how to annoy him)

About the author

Lauren Biel

Lauren’s stories are often emotionally raw, with lots of twists and turns. She describes her writing as “where light meets dark”, which represents how her witty humor compliments the darkness in every story. Instead of trying to mold her writing to fit in a box, she chooses to be unapologetically herself. While her focus is on Romance with dark elements, subgenre is no constraint for her. The common theme in every book is finding love when you least expect it. She enjoys putting her characters through tribulations, allowing their triumphs to be that much more poignant. Make sure you have your seatbelts secured. It’s always a bumpy ride.

When she’s not working, she’s writing. When she’s not writing, she’s spending time with her husband, her friends, or her pets. You might also find her on a horseback trail ride or sitting beside a waterfall in Upstate New York. She has a pretty normal life, yet her stories are anything but.

This is the end of the series and well what a bang... I mean it.

We have Josie who's been in the killer game for awhile and she's kidnapped by Ice and his buddy to be apart of Jim's new vacation roadtrip!!! And well guess who her RV buddy is an ex who broke her heart. KING now there reunion is alittle messy. But that doesnt stop Jim for putting these 2 together.

And the tension and banter since Joise knows all the little bits to piss King off. Along the way they have clues and stuff to leave. For the Carter siblings to find peace over their dad. And well I wont say much.

But please if you dont wanna be ruined by food you should skip this whole series lol. Idk if ill look at certian foods rhe same again.

Also there is a frankpeen and a toothbrush case moment that .. well yeah.. i wont touch that with a 10 foot pole.

Saftey- mentions both had past when they were Seperated. Josie was flirty with someone on the trip and King said stuff to make Josie think he slept with someone he didnt.

No ow/slight om drama, no cheating, secondary characters, Drama, sexy times, no virgins

I’m so sad that this series has to end, it’s been such an amazing ride. Loved how we finally get the answers to all our questions and how to story wrapped up.

Without giving too much away 😬

I read this in one sitting, foregoing a full nights sleep might I add 🤣as I simply could not put it down. We get a lot of answers to questions that were left dangling in the previous books. All the characters from the Slaycation series are in this, as you would expect from the title including their quirks (yes, food items will be utilised within the pages). Their found family growing by one more addition, Josie who is also a s3rial k!ller however, she has her role within the family too, once you get to that stage.

Throughout the book Lauren gives us little hints, little twists within the narrative. NGL I have loved this series, and this one is no exception, please don’t ask me which my favourite is as I’d be hard pushed but this one comes very close with the inclusion of all the characters on their road trip to seek answers and obviously a little m^*der and mayhem en route. I absolutely loved that she also brought in a couple from one of her other books 🤭(not this series…enough said)

You couldn’t have asked for a fitting culmination to the series, Lauren has exceeded my expectations with this one, giving us a conclusion of the sinners series that will stay in your head. I’m also quite sad it’s had to end but all good things do. Totally recommend this series.

Okay, I voluntarily signed up for the RIDE OF A LIFETIME, without even knowing it when I started Sinners Retreat. At the time I was in the mood for a dark romance and I am a sucker for a tropical setting, however I wasn’t expecting to find my favorite series of all time. I’m a hardcore HEA rom com girlie but a major mood reader so finding this series was like drinking a perfectly made cocktail just for you - I’ll skip the bubbles… and pineapple from now on though haha iykyk. So here we are, after binge reading every single one of these books in one sitting, the final installment. Heartbroken is the word. I love these characters in a world where it’s hard to find connection, the emotional resonance of this found family is profound and somehow I, as the reader, felt like I belonged with them too. Their seemingly twisted but actually perfectly straight moral compasses is such a beautifully navigated line throughout the series but especially with the lead up to the big reveal of Daddy Carter. I won’t say anything else on that subject except wow, I was shocked and then shocked again and SHOCKED thoroughly at the end. Well planned and well executed by this fantastic author. Lauren is truly a queen of planning a plot twist in the most seamless fashion.

Onto my favorite parts of this book, the spice was SPICY! It ruined a whole new food group for me which I have grown to love how memorable that is and truly is still sexy as hellll. The chemistry between King and Josie matches the intense chemistry that all the other couples have but I loved that they were getting an emotionally complex second chance as well. The way they both let down their guard over the events that happen is so very well executed. They are written with flaws and depth but the kind of love that transcends the page and lives forever in the mind of a reader.

I love that all the other couples play a fairly significant role too. My fix for every other couple was throughly satisfied which was great they didn’t just make needless cameos in the back. I’ll be honest, I was not sure how the setting of a road trip was going to work but despite being like “I’m not a cruise” girl and “I hate winter” and “mmm romance in a theme park?”, Lauren proves me wrong once again but absolutely KNOCKING IT OUT THE DARN PARK. It was unbelievable, the setting changes along the way increase intensity and lend themselves to so many fun side adventures and activities ;).

Color me impressed, this like every other book in the series is a 5 star smash hit and I am absolutely devastated this series is over. Justice for IcePick! My only complaint is that I would love more. A spin off series. Novellas. Sentient object. Just more from Lauren Biel who is a literary genius and I will continue to devour her every written word. More please, Queen!

As always, Lauren kicks ass with this book. 🙌
This series is one of my favourites. For real. These are the kind of books you come to again and again.

This one? Oh lord what a fun ride! J & K , absolutely loved them. This story gives you laughter and tears. I love the characters, the story and how the fmc overcomes her trauma. If you've read the other books, you can’t sit out on this one.

It’s sad that this is it. I need more. Gods, please just give Ice Pick a book will ya? Haha! We need more.
But again, amazing. The banter. The shenanigans. The jaw dropping moments. All of it. Amazing.

Wow! I have read every single one of these books and I have to say every single one has been fun to read but this one. I'm sad that it's over but it's also nice to have like the end of the series and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
If you're a big foodie you might want to skip. Although I never really had an issue. I still eat ice cream lol
I did enjoy the series, some books more than others but this one it gives it the perfect send-off for the end of the series
I love these characters so much

Talk about the perfect end to a series. I cannot express hoe much I loved this one. I don't usually go for age gap romance, but King and Josie were so good together, that sometimes I forgot there was an age difference between them until the narrative reminded me.

The idea of the sinners on an epic RV roadtrip was EVERYTHING. As someone who loves camping, this was a hoot and a half. And I loved the little nod to the two places I've called home in my lifetime - Florida and Tennessee.

I don't want to give any plot details away, but I loved how various elements from the past books made their way into this one, to bring everything together in a beautiful and murderous way. I loved getting to see all the Carter kids interacting more and getting to observe them as a whole from a somewhat outside perspective.

I also loved every moment we got to spend with Grim and Rosie. They are two of my favorite supporting characters in the series and I cracked up so many times during the scenes they were in during this read.

I loved seeing King cut loose a bit through this one. Getting to see inside his mind was a real treat after just getting to know him on the periphery.

The banter between King and Josie was deliciously wicked and so much fun. And I loved watching their relationship re-develop on the trip. The emotional growth they both went through in this one was beautiful and endearing. I actually teared up a few times towards the end.

I really enjoyed the way all the lingering questions were answered and the way so many things got resolved. And I loved that we got so many fun, twisted, dark moments that I have loved in this series.

But I'm also so sad to see it end. It was a dark delight.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I cannot believe this series is over. Somehow Lauren Biel made me get emotionally attached to a group of serial killers, and now I genuinely feel like I'm saying goodbye to family. Watching this found family grow over five books has been such an incredible ride, and every character has earned a special place in my heart. Bennett was always my favorite, but King definitely made a strong argument for that title. King and Josie's story was the perfect finale. Their second chance romance mixed with forced proximity, a completely unhinged side quest involving a sloth, and the entire crew causing absolute chaos made this impossible to put down. I loved how the truth slowly unraveled, proving that not everything is as it seems. The story reminds you that revenge only works when you know the whole truth, and Lauren delivered every twist at exactly the right moment. This series has always balanced dark humor, gore, heart, and complete madness so well. I laughed, I cringed, I got emotional, and I questioned Lauren Biel's mental wellbeing at least a few times. Respectfully, of course. This was the perfect ending to an unforgettable series. I'll be recommending these books to anyone who enjoys found family, morally questionable characters, dark comedy, and a little murder with their romance.

Dark. Hilarious. Utterly addicting.

I absolutely loved seeing all the favorite characters and familiar faces. This was such a beautiful culmination of everything that came before. Somehow with each new story the author keeps us entertained. Not only with where the journey takes us but the amazing and hilarious sights we see along the way. Josie just might take the cake as far as food play goes. It’s likely that the readers will be finding new k!nks whether they will enjoy them as much as the characters do is another story. The MCs and their dynamic captivated me at every step. The way they responded to each other. Their passion is fire. All of it was just so easy to connect with and fall into completely. The mystery that’s sprinkled throughout the pages is so artfully crafted. It’s utterly addicting and unputdownable. This is the ending we all needed. My emotions are all over the place. It’s all your fault.

Hoe bedoel je de mmc zegt "i chuckle, and the movement bounces her precious, big head" als in wtf laat d'r lekker man.

Lauren said it best with the final words of the book and series, “It’s been quite the adventure, hasn’t it?... I’m sad that it’s over. But I’m glad that it happened.” And what an adventure it was! I loved the series so much that I wanted a quick binge reread (mostly because I couldn't remember King). Each Carter sibling has been brought into the group in their own book, and now they're traveling on a cross-country road trip to hunt down their no- good absentee father (and some cattle too, of course). The twist I expected, the way it broke my heart and changed my opinion about EVERYTHING I didn't expect! I'm so sad this series is ending, but I can't wait to see what she comes up with next (and what foods she'll ruin forever 😉).

This is the last book in this series, and I'm a bit sad the ride is over.

What worked for me:
• Josie's determination to join the chaotic road trip and work towards a positive outcome
• King learning to relax a bit while also taking care of everyone
• Found family vibes, no third-act breakup, and a solid conclusion to the series.

Overall, I rate it 4⭐out of 5 which means I enjoyed this, consider it a great book, and recommend it. I'm likely to read this again, especially if it is part of a favorite series, and am looking forward to reading more books by this author in the future.

"I'm sad that it's over. But I'm glad that it happened. " Lauren Biel what the f@ck 😭😭😭 I think Sinners Reunion is the best book she has written. Everything I thought I knew about Daddy Carter was false, and nothing could have prepared me for who Daddy Carter ACTUALLY was. From almost killing off EVERYONE'S favorite character (How could you? I was DISTRAUGHT), to making me fall in love with everyone all over again. Every part of the story tied together so nicely, to where I can't think of a single loose end. Lauren never misses. Like the quote above says, "I'm sad that it's over. But I'm glad that it happened." 😭

I am writing this review voluntarily, thank you to the author and book sirens for the e-arc. This one was really the perfect ending to to the slaycation series. As always the author did an incredible job telling the next couples story, Josie and king have such chemistry that you can’t help but love. I’m super sad that the series is coming to an end but the author definitely saved best for last. The twists definitely had my jaw to the floor a few times. If you love very spicy rom coms about serial unalivers sinners reunion and the whole slaycation series is right up your alley. Thank you Lauren biel for this masterpiece

This was such a great ending to the series! I absolutely loved Josie and King and their whole journey. The banter, the tension, the second chances and all the emotions made this such a fun read. I’m honestly sad to say goodbye to these characters, but I couldn’t have asked for a better ending to the series. ❤️

Thank you for the advance reading copy! This is my voluntary and honest review.

I needed a couple of days to recover from this ride! First, we have an amazing author who has absolutely knocked this series out of the park. And second…this is the end to the series. Or is it?! 😂 I’m kidding 🤔

Okay, but seriously, it takes a special kind of author to take those two things and somehow turn them into a grand slam! ⚾️

I honestly wasn’t sure how I would feel about King as a love interest, but I put all my money on Lauren, and I came home a winner! 🥰

Hands down, grab this book TODAY, because I am NOT spoiling this gem for you. You’re going to want to experience it all for yourself!

Okay, okay… I’ll let you off the hook with one tiny spoiler… THERE IS FOOD! 😂🍴

This series has been one heck of a ride, and I’m absolutely not ready to say goodbye! ❤️📚

Dark, messy, unhinged, and completely addictive! This intense, highly provocative romance explores disturbing themes and extreme situations that may not work for every reader, but I couldn’t look away. I kept thinking it couldn’t get crazier, but somehow it did! Definitely not for everyone, but if you enjoy twisted, spicy romance and can handle potentially polarizing content, add this to your TBR.

Last book in the series and what a series it was. I was sad to be reading this as I knew it was the end but it really was the perfect ending. I was not expecting King to be who he was !! I had a pretty good idea where King and Josie's story was headed, and honestly? It turned out exactly how I hoped it would. Sometimes you don't need a story to completely blindside you—you just need it to deliver the payoff you've been waiting for, and Sinner's Reunion did that for me.
I loved finally getting King and Josie's story after everything that came before. Five years apart, unresolved feelings, plenty of arguing and flirting, and a cross-country road trip that forces them into each other's space? There was really no way that wasn't going to be entertaining.
But finishing this one is bittersweet because it means saying goodbye to the Slaycation series.
These books are ridiculously funny, completely unhinged, dark in all the ways you'd expect from Lauren Biel, and somehow still manage to have so much heart underneath all the chaos. They're the kind of stories I can pick up when life is really life-ing and I just need to disappear into something outrageous for a while.
And sometimes, that's exactly the kind of book I need.
Am I happy with how it ended? Absolutely.
Am I sad this is the last main Sinners book?
Also absolutely.

What a perfect ending to the series 💜💜💜

This book was laugh out loud funny while also being very deep and heavy. It had a different tone, at times, to the other books in the series, but it needed to be.

And OMG the food. 🤦 So much ruined.

If Lauren Biel is writing it, I’m reading it. End of discussion.

I love Lauren’s entire range—from her pitch-black erotic horror that makes me question my life choices, right through to her so-called “DIET” dark rom-coms—and the Slaycation series has somehow become one of my absolute favourites.

And Sinners Reunion? It was EVERYTHING I wanted from the final main book.

Did I read this in one sitting? Absolutely. Did I have any business being awake that late? Probably not. Did I care? Not even slightly. 😂

Absolutely.

Was Josie and King the perfect pair for the final ride on the Sinners’ fun bus?

Without a doubt.

Their second-chance romance, the grumpy x sassy dynamic, the forced proximity and that deliciously dysfunctional banter were everything. Josie is exactly the kind of woman I wanted for King, and watching their story unfold while the entire Sinners crew came along for the ride was just chef’s kiss.

And Lauren has absolutely smashed bringing this series full circle. We get answers to questions that have been hanging around, all the characters we’ve come to love are back with their wonderfully unhinged personalities intact, the found family gets even bigger, and naturally there is murder, mayhem and enough inappropriate behaviour to keep things very, VERY Sinners.

There are twists, little Easter eggs tucked throughout the story, moments that had me laughing out loud and moments that reminded me exactly why I fell in love with this series in the first place.

And then there’s the food.

Lauren, I genuinely need you to understand that you have ruined several food groups for me permanently. 😂 I will never look at certain things on a menu quite the same way again.

And cattle?

🐮 I see you. I know what you are.

IYKYK. 😂

I also absolutely loved the little surprise connection to one of Lauren’s other books. I’m saying nothing because discovering it yourself is half the fun, but it was such a brilliant little addition.

This series has given me dark humour, ridiculous situations, unforgettable characters, found family, romance, murder, mayhem and enough food-related trauma to last a lifetime.

And now it’s OVER.

That is my ONE complaint.

IT’S OVER. 😭😭😭

I’m genuinely not ready to say goodbye to these characters because somewhere along the way, this completely bonkers collection of serial unalivers became a family I didn’t know I needed.

Lauren Biel has absolutely delivered the perfect ending to the Sinners’ story and I bloody loved every single minute of it.

And thankfully, my Sinners obsession isn’t quite finished because I get to experience the whole killer lot AGAIN when the audiobooks arrive. 🎧

See what I did there? “Killer lot.”

Pun absolutely intended. 😉

If you haven’t started the Slaycation series yet, what are you waiting for?

Buckle up. Bring snacks. Actually… maybe don’t bring snacks.

Just trust me. 😂

Well... Lauren Biel gathered the Sinners, threw Josie and King’s unresolved history into an RV, added several thousand miles of forced proximity, and apparently removed the emotional brakes. 😭🔪🚐🔥

WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG‽

Everything.

Beautifully, violently, filthily... everything. 😈🖤

Josie and King have the kind of chemistry that doesn’t simmer quietly in the background. It stalks around carrying a knife, making inappropriate comments, and maintaining aggressive eye contact. 🔪👀🥵

Five years of heartbreak, anger, regret, longing, and unfinished business sit between them. Josie has absolutely no intention of making King’s life easy -- as she shouldn’t. 💅🏻👑

Her banter is a weapon.

She can verbally slice King open with one sentence, smile sweetly, and walk away while he attempts to remember why leaving her ever seemed intelligent. Meanwhile, King is grumpy, possessive, emotionally constipated, and painfully obvious about still being completely gone for her.

Sir... nobody believes you are unaffected. Not even a little bit. .~ 😂🔥

Watching them argue was foreplay.

Watching the arguments become actual foreplay‽ A religious experience. 🙏🏻🥵🔥🔥🔥

The spice was filthy, inventive, and magnificently depraved, but it never felt disconnected from their relationship. Every intimate moment carried something deeper -- control, trust, anger, regret, longing, or the terrifying realization that neither of them ever truly moved on. 🖤💔❤️‍🔥

And beneath all the murdery road-trip chaos, this story had a surprisingly tender heart.

King may have believed he was protecting Josie when he walked away, but she was still the one forced to survive the wound he left behind. Good intentions do not erase emotional damage... and Josie wasn’t about to let him forget that. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Sinners Reunion gave me:

🔥 Second-chance romance
🚐 Forced-proximity road-trip chaos
🔪 A serial killer and her federal-agent problem
😈 Wicked, weaponized banter
🥵 Spice with absolutely no respect for polite society
🖤 Murdery found-family insanity
💔 Real heartbreak and regret
❤️‍🔥 Five years of love that refused to die

As the final main Slaycation book, this was everything I wanted: funny, filthy, violent, vulnerable, emotional, and completely unapologetic. 😭🖤🔪🔥

Five feral stars from the Queen Of Smut™. Josie and King didn’t merely reunite...

They committed emotional arson and made us watch. 🔥🚐🔥

※ I received an ARC. All thoughts, opinions, emotional damage, and inappropriate fictional attachments are entirely my own.
