Ultimate Temptations

Rate this book
Ella Wilkins only wants one thing out of life—to graduate from high school and escape her hometown where everyone knows her and the dark cloud surrounding her family.
Everything is going according to plan until two new students show up at her school. Asher and Cain, identical twin brothers, take an interest in her, and she can’t help but wonder why two gorgeous brothers would want anything to do with a social outcast like her.

As she gets closer to the brothers, she’s torn between the two. Asher’s kindness pulls her in and comforts her while Cain both tempts and infuriates her with his sarcastic and devious ways.

When she learns who they truly are—or rather, what they are—things start to get a little tricky.

Ella might not know it, but she is the key to winning the ultimate battle between heaven and hell. Both realms want her, and neither is willing to let her go.

She’s torn between the ultimate temptations of heaven and hell. Which side will she choose?

Six months ago Ella Wilkins was just your average teenager, popular, pretty and the girl all the other girls in school wanted to be.
Then six months ago her mother tried to kill her and her life hasn't been the same since.
Where she was once popular and envied, she is now picked on and pitied. To get through her days she makes herself as invisible as she can and tells herself that she only has three months more until she leaves for college. Her life was boring and uneventful until they came along...

Asher and Cain Collins, hot a sin identical twins who both, although she's now a social outcast, want everything to do with her and she can't understand their interest. The boys are polar opposites and as Ella spends more time with them she finds herself getting attached to both, only she can't do that because she's leaving in three months...

Ella's world gets rocked again when she finds out who the twins really are and why they're here.

I am a paranormal nut and I give K. Anne a thumbs up for this one! I really enjoyed the storyline and I fell in love with her characters, especially Asher and Cain. They might have been identical but their personalities were not. I find myself in a struggle as to which team I'd be playing for but if I had to choose based on which twin I'd pick it'd be #TeamCain and I can't wait to see which side Ella will choose!

One of my favorite reads from 2016

The second I started reading the prologue, I knew I was going to be hooked. This book instantly grabbed my attention, and I could not put it down. The plot, the characters, the writing, everything was amazing.
I did not know that this was part of a series- I usually wait until all of the other books are released before starting because I am extremely impatient- so now I update K. Anne's page every other day looking for an update on the next book (there hasn't been one so far).

Pros of Ultimate Temptations:
I take notes while reading, but they usually just contain things that I did not like about the book (see cons section below). Despite the fact that the pro list is shorter than the con, I loved loved loved this book. I just didn't write notes on how much I loved it except that I loved that the chapters were short (for when I say just one more chapter before going to bed and I only have to read a few pages instead of 30+). I loved how the brothers were both swoon worthy (even though Cain definitely beat Asher). This was the first book I've read where I didn't mind the love triangle (if you can call it that).

Cons (any spoilers will be hidden):
-I went to a very large public high school in California, and none of the students acted like the students in this book do. The mean characters in this book do not exist in actual high schools (at least not the one I went to, which was only a few years ago). Sure, there were "cliques" and popular girls, but nobody laid claim to new students, the whole school didn't bow down to certain people, and a catfight didn't happen everyday. I found this to be extremely unrealistic and exaggerated, like a bad teen flick movie.
-Ella knew Cain for half of a day but acted like she had known him forever. She literally said "what have you done with Cain" and "I can't figure you out Cain. Most of the time you're cocky and sarcastic" as if she knows who he is. She has only known him for 2-5 hours. You don't know him at all.
-The relationships between Asher, Cain and Ella moved WAY too fast. Nobody acts like they are best friends with somebody they met that day

Once again, K.A. delivers another amazing story!!

Ultimate Temptations is about Heaven and Hell but with a slight twist on it. Ella's life completely changes one day but not the way she expects. Cain and Asher enter her life when things are spiraling out of control. But it's the other actions when no-one else is around but her that make her question everything. And that is all I am giving you about the story and even that I feel may too much.

K.A. does a perfect job of building up the plot of this story and giving us the background on the characters and each of their stories. I love the new spin she puts on Heaven and Hell and how everything in between works. I was immediately drawn into this story from the very beginning. There are certain things that will be quite obvious to any reader, but it's how Kelly writes that keeps you hooked and wanting to know where the next step leads. There are quite a few things going on and you definitely need to pay attention to EVERYTHING! While certain things seem obvious, they are other twists and turns that will leave you with even more questions as the story progresses.

"Do not fear me. You will be stronger that anything they've ever seen. This is the gift I give you."

K.A. really knows how to paint a picture with her words. I am really excited to see where the next book takes us in this adventure of other realms.

This has a CH at the end.

Pretty good. I liked the characters, and loved Cain, (Because, of course, I adore the bad boys.) Ella was such a great character, and her POV was a fun. The angst wasn't as high as I expected, but it was still good, with a little thrill of fear.

I love how the good and evil side are shown to have a dash of each other within. Honestly, I don't trust Asher. He feels fake to me, and obviously hiding something. Cain seems almost brutally honest. I want to know more about their life. I have theories already. Still, in the end, a really good book.

Ultimate Temptations by K.A. Robinson, writing as K. Anne, is a heavenly hellish, fast-paced read that I just didn't want to put down. While I know that my sixteen year old self would have absolutely loved this book, I can, without hesitation, say that my twenty-four year old self has enjoyed it just the same.

This young adult novel does not only give you a sarcastic female protagonist with an interesting story, but also two very charming paranormal main characters of the opposite sex.
HEY - don't give up on this just yet, because we are neither talking vampires, nor are we looking at your typical, been-there-done-that, love triangle. This book is different from anything I have read before, and I cannot wait to see where the next installments in the series will be taking us.

Cain and Asher are both sweeter than heaven, and hotter than hell - but that's where their similarities end, as each of the identical twin brothers has been sent to Earth from different realms. While one of them is serving Heaven as an angel, the other one is a demon from hell, and their different traits and characteristics make this an interesting and entertaining read. I think it is safe to say that this would be an absolutely recommendable read for anyone who is a fan of the tv-show The Vampire Diaries, and especially those who have read and enjoyed the books by LJ Smith that the show has been based upon.
Team Damon (/demon), Team Stefan (/saint)? It's okay to love them both... I did. But Team Damon, Team Stefan, it's all water under the bridge - now Team Cain and Team Asher are those to ship, and you might definitely start to feel yourself picking sides - I know I did. As I have mentioned before though, it's not your typical love triangle, because while it is undeniably present, it is not taking place in the foreground, and could almost be considered a subtle sub-story to, and steerer of, what the actual storyline is all about. The brothers are on a mission, each of them trying to convince Ella that their realm is the place to be, that their side is the one to pick... because her choice will ultimately be changing history.

Ultimate Temptations is full of well-developed characters, that each come with their own complex story, beautifully wrapped into one. The paranormal character of the novel isn't too absurd and is clearly structured, so it's easy to follow and get lost in. Falling in love with Asher and Cain was effortless, and now it's time to see what they, and their worlds, are really made of... SO WHERE THE HELL (pun intended) IS PART TWO?!? (-;

The story concept was something I was dying to read. Admittedly, YA isn’t my usual genre, but I still journey into it occasionally. So I was thrilled to start this new series by K.A. Robinson. The idea of being torn between two twins, as well as heaven and hell? Yummy! Love triangles are nothing new but the idea of twins is a bit interesting. Especially as those twins are so very different in everything but looks.

This novel was a quick, easy read that I enjoyed. After a slow start, it ended up fast-paced and entertaining. I do want to warn it did leave off on a cliffhanger though!

The characterization was a little lacking, but not terribly missing or anything. Both Asher and Cain were distinctly different from each other and it made things interesting. Who wouldn’t love twin hot guys after your body? Ella, on the other hand, was not my favorite protagonist. I might have enjoyed this book a lot more if I had really liked Ella, but sadly, this was not the case.

There was a bit of inconsistency in regards to Asher and Cain’s abilities. Like the fact Asher seemed to hear something Ella said that shouldn’t have been possible, so he (and I assume Cain) have sensitive hearing. Okay, I get that. But then how come Ella could sneak up on the twins, not once, but twice? Hmm, something to ponder.

The actually writing was well-done, if a little over-explanatory. There were a lot of instances of things written out that weren’t needed. Like the process of changing clothes, classes, etc. where it wasn’t needed to enhance or advance the story. Other than that, it was well-written.

Lastly, despite the fact I felt the story lacked a certain depth to really move me - as in, right now, I don’t have a twin preference, really - it DID keep me going and I did enjoy how the story played out. It was a tad slow in the beginning to introduce the supernatural element to the novel, but otherwise, I am definitely looking forward to book two! 3.5 Stars!

Ok so just as a reminder this author writes as K. Anne, but is NA author K.A. Robinson. This is her FIRST YA book and I thought she did a really great job. One of the hardest things with this type of story is making the twin brothers seem like two completely different people. I thought the brothers were done really well. They had their own voices and really seemed like separate people.

The explanations, or you could refer to it as 'world building' was also really great. I loved that everything felt pretty explained and what the reader still has questions about will be answered in the next few books. Even though it has to do with good vs evil, religion is really kept out of it. That I appreciated and I thought was unique to these type of story. I love the whole 'good vs. evil' story, but this is probably one of my favorites.

There was a little twist towards the end that I did see coming, but also I hope is explained more later because I am not sure how it happened. I liked Ella, which hasn't happened a lot lately where I like the heroine of the story. The continued freak outs got a little annoying, but overall wasn't bad.

I honestly have no idea which brother she is going to end up with...I have a favorite, but honestly no idea who she will pick which NEVER happens. Not easy to figure out in this one. It will probably become more clear, but for now I am enjoying being stumped.

It ends of a cliffhanger. And its one of those where you read it, turn the page and cry out 'It can't be over!!!' in a very distressed voice. I understood why it ended where it did, but I was still sad. However it just made it me very excited for the sequel!!!

Overall a really enjoyable read. I read it in one sitting because I couldn't stop!!! It is quick and would be a great weekend by the pool read!!!!

This story was definitely intriguing but since this is only book one, not much happened. It was also really sloooooowww in the beginning and really freaking catty with bitches at high school drama and just... blugh...

BUT it got better towards the middle and then the ending left me hanging but wanting to read the next to see what was going to happen.

This story is the ultimate love triangle between good and evil... literally. But everything is not always black and white, gray is a color that seems to seep into both choices and I couldn't help sympathize with the ultimate decision that had to be made.

No pressure or anything...

I liked Ella but I really didn't get much sense of her personality because she spent majority of the book either hiding from the people at the school or just hiding in general. It got to be a little much. But when she wasn't hiding and being herself, she was actually quite pleasant and I liked her.

Cain and Asher...
I LOVE THEM!!!

The bad boy and good boy roles were well played and I wasn't sure which brother I loved more. One sweet and innocent wanting to do what was right and then the bad boy who didn't give a shit about rules or what you thought of him...

I have to say the bad boy got me a little more excited than the sweet and innocent one. Gotta love a bad boy who happens to care!

I am excited to see what is next in this series, I am a little disappointed in the way this one ended but it does set up book 2 quite nicely so I am excited to see what happens next and who will win overall...

Overall, I give this book a 3 "Great concept, lacked more substance but holy hot identical twins, batman!!"

I enjoy reading a book about Angels, demons, and chosen ones. This book definitely delivered with a bit of action, a lot of drama and suspense. I found myself torn between the twin brothers Ella runs into. Two guys here to protect and lead her to a path that will determine her destiny. But just like in real life when we run into a fork in the road we must chose one side. The question is what side will she chose?

We have Cain who is the demon. Funny, and conceited but with a hidden side you wouldn't expect. He definitely makes you want to allow the demon to lead the way. Hell if they all sounded as sexy and intense as him why not. Sometimes we want more excitement.

Than we have Asher, the Angel, sweet, honest, and pure in a way. Yet he to has a secret side. We always root for the Angel to win but at moments one questions what is really beneath the surface. Both brothers have secrets and both are trying to lure her to their side.

I found myself wanting one to win her heart more than the other, and had myself clenching my jaw when it looked like I was going to lose. This only is what made me enjoy this story. The not knowing, and anticipation of what will happen next. Definitely an enjoyable read that captivates you, and has you wondering what will happen next. Even the love triangle fits perfectly with the path the story takes. I can't help but wonder if Ella's friend who stood by her through the hardest months will pop up again.

This books is definitely a must read and will have you wanting the next book ASAP just to see what will happen next. Will more questions be answered that? What will Ella decided? What path and what guy will she chose? Enjoyed this book and glad I got the honor to read it. I enjoy switching genres and finding a book that catches my attentions.

What would you do if not 1, but 2 gorgeous boys in your school suddenly started paying attention to you? Not just a little attention, but like sitting with you during lunch and staring at you all the time?
Well, Ella finds that that is just exactly what's happening.
And she's not sure she likes it.
Ella has had a hard time in school. (We all remember what high school was like, right?)
She just wants to keep her head down and finish school and blow out of town like the wind.
Then the two boys arrive and everything changes.
I loved this book!
It read like a YA. It's been a while since I've read something so innocent and yet so captivating. I couldn't wait to turn the next page.
Cain and Asher burst onto the pages and held my attention.
There's something about those two boys and Ella really wants to figure out what exactly makes them so fascinated with her. (because every time she looks, one of them is staring at her. And it's getting a little creepy.)
There are twists and turns. Fighting and lots of funny sarcasm. Two hunky guys that may be good, may be not so good.
There's also an original explanation of two things most of us are brought out of the womb believing.
Read this book. I promise it's so worth it. It's not your average good vs evil kind of book.
I can't wait for more!

When your own mother tried to kill you, you don't think your life could get any worse. Until you have an Angel, Demon, and Death all telling you that you're gonna die. At the time of your death you will have to choose between Heaven or Hell, and where you choose will end the war between the two. Yeah, no pressure. Right?

In the Paranormal book, Ultimate Temptations, by K.A. Robinson you will read about one brave woman who is trying to put her life together and move on from her past. Only she finds out she won't have a future on Earth. Ella was very popular in High School until the night her mom went crazy and tried to kill her. Her mom swore they told her to do it, that Ella needed to die to win the war. After that tragic night Ella was all alone. Everyone was spreading rumors about her crazy mom and her. So all Ella wanted to do was graduate and go to a college far away where no one knew of her past. She wanted to move on. But when two new students came to her school, Ella had a feeling things were about to change. She knew there was something different about Cain and Asher. When she finally witnessed their world she knew she had to find out the truth about them. That's when they told her they were there to protect her from Death until she could choose a side. Only Death kept coming, but gave her a chance to plan for her untimely death.

Ella Wilkins was the most popular girl in school and her friends all loved her and wanted to be her, then one day her mother in a drunken stupor tries to kill her. When she comes back to school from the hospital and unanswered calls to her 'best friend' she finds that she is now the outcast of the school and her best friend the head bi**h.
Ella quickly learns to deal with the ridicule by tuning it all out, there are only three more months left so it should be a piece of cake right??? WRONG!!!

Asher and Cain Collins are the hot new twins at school and the biggest news on campus so imagine the confusion that Ella has when they are both into her and ONLY her. Life for Ella will forever be altered and she will be torn between two hot brothers that look the exact same but are oh so very different. Asher or Cain will be the big question and who will she choose??? I personally, I bat for #TeamGiveMeThemBoth ;) I cannot wait for the next book in this series and I am not the most enthusiastic paranormal reader, that I leave to my partner in crime so imagine my surprise when I not only LOVED this story, but I am actually

YA isn't usually the genre I read much these days but I love KA Robinson's writing so I had to read this book. I loved this story.

Ella Wilkins only wants to graduate High School so she can escape the town where everyone knows about the dark cloud over her family's head. All is on course until two new students show up. Identical twin brothers, Cain & Asher, take an interest in Ella and she can't figure out why. She becomes torn between the two, and when she finds out their secret, things get messy. Which twin will she choose, heaven or hell?

I really enjoyed this book. There are surprise twists, as it's not your average good vs. evil, fight action, and hilarious snarky sarcasm. All the main characters were great so it was hard for me to choose as well. The author has a great style of writing that draws me in from the get go, and keeps me hooked. Can't wait to read more and highly recommend.

Let me just start off by saying that I really did like Unlimited temptations, and I would say if you have never read a paranormal or go in without expectations, it's really great. But if you go in expecting all kinds of paranormal stuff to be within in the book, it's kind of a let down. I went in with expectations, since I love paranormals, and I shouldn't have. It was much more tame than what I'm used to when reading a paranormal book. It's almost like any other YA book but with the characters written as paranormal figures with only a few examples rather than the whole thing being paranormal. The story behind it was really good and all in all it was a very good book but I really hope she ventures more into the paranormal realm in the next book. All in all I give this a big thumbs up but I would suggest going in without expectations. I can't wait to see what she does with book two.

Even though i do not read many paranormal books anymore when one takes my fancy i usually cannot put it down as was the case here. I liked Ella she certainly mixed up Asher and Cain's worlds as they did to her. She was sarky and held her own against these two hot brothers. I love the surprises and twists to this young adult paranormal story. It is always good to read some new genre by an author you are familiar with to see how they do and K.Anne aka K.A. Robinson has succeeded in bringing me over to this new genre she has written.
