Kacy Green is at a point in her life where she feels she needs to act more mature and get her own place instead of crashing at her various band mates flats as she has done for ten years since she ran away from a bad situation at home when she was fifteen.
Things are starting to click for her and for the band. London Harmony is hosting the biggest battle of the bands the world has ever witnessed.
When things start to fall apart when their lead guitarist defects to another band. The race is on to find another lead guitarist before they are dropped from the competition.
What Kacy finds instead is a love like none she had ever experienced when she stumbles upon Mei Hammond, a woman who has the most unusual gift with music that not even tragedy can take from her.

(Read via Audible) Another fun love story to make the staunchest monotreme detractor smile. I could not help but to look up some fantastic one handed guitar playing on youtube. I am looking forward to the next installment.
SO many people do not realize the incredible amount of destructive devices left all over the world in the wake of battles. They can be left for decades, forgotten, until the poor individual, many times playing children, find them and tragedy strikes. Many 'advanced' fighting forces attempt to keep up with placement and make recovery a priority but it is far from perfect. Great story flow, great romance, another hit.
These are really fairy tales, so gooooooood - I hope ES appreciates the way I big up his work - the bint! Hey - I joked last book he'd mentioned Groats - but he came in with half crowns! LOL!
She pulled me to her and her eyes looked to be watering as she just shrugged and whispered back, "Yours."
Now, that was something! Roctoberfest lived up to its name. This book rocks. This series just keeps getting better and better and I am not sure who I like more, Mei or Kace, even the bandmates and parents were veryyy likeable. Roctoberfest also was the most hilarious out of the three, yet. I was cracking up laughing literally every other page or so. One of my favorites was:
"You're the first person I've met that wants to know about my music rather than my arm."
I looked at her arm then said slyly, "It looks okay to me." She snorted and I grinned that I was able to make her do that.
She said, "Don't be dense woman. My other arm."
I looked at her in mock confusion and leaned in and whispered behind my hand over dramatically. "You don't have an other arm."
My family looked at me funny at that. I love the comic banter between everyone, especially between the horseshoes, it's gives a goofy feeling. The plot was already interesting, it reminds me of Karaoke Queen, (I miss my queens) but somehow it stand-out on its own. It wasn't deep or life-changing, but will make you realize and appreciate the little things you can do, like picking up a soda can.
This was the book to go for if you're looking for a nice, quick, funny and easy-to read read.
The prologues/epilogues were such a tease, I want more of Fran and Zil. I wanttttttttttttttttttt. But not together, please. Also, I feel like I am Kim while reading the London Harmony series. I google british slangs and terms. Bloody cool, right. Ha. To the next one.
Roctoberfest surpassed my expectations. Mei is the most complex character Erik has written to date. She has tragic experiences to overcome but a solid foundation and support system. We get to see her overcome her obstacles with style and grace. Kacy is great and has issues of her own but they arent as discussed as Mei's that affect day to day life. The romance between Kacy and Mei was sweet and sexy. The chemistry can be felt leaping off of the pages. They were obviously meant for each other. The passionate romance being experienced with the excitement of the music competition added layers of feeling and constant anticipation to the story as a whole. I highly recommend this read. Seriously go get it, you won't regret it
This is a good continuation of the London Harmony series. Their talent continues to grow and it is great seeing characters from Harmony Tracks in this book. Erik always does a great job telling stories of acceptance. His characters are never perfect and they are always loved by someone. Fun story. Quick read. Pick it up and you'll want to read more of Erik's work. I know I'm addicted.
