Old History
A very comprehensive and full account written a century ago. Names of people and places are archaic and unfamiliar. A hearty dislike of the medieval papacy permeates the narrative. The various and numerous massacres perpetrated by both sides are recorded with relish.
Well worth reading but not rereading
