Charisma was born into a toxic and chaotic environment. With a mother and grandmother who only showed her how to finesse men, she was left with few options, but to be the best midnight ballerina she could be! She wants so much more for her life but doesn't know anything else. She keeps her faith and believes that God will save her one day. When the one person she trusted betrays her, she is devastated and realizes that she was truly alone in the world. 💔🥹
Kalm, who was anything but, took his big brother responsibilities to heart, doing all he could to take care of his siblings. With his boxing career taking off, he was able to financially support them all, but it didn't come without challenges. On a routine stop for gas, he finds the ray of light he needed.
When Kalm and Charisma meet there is flirty banter, however, she is distracted by her current situation. Fate brings them together again when Charisma is out of options and finds herself right at Kalm's doorstep. Being the protector that he is, he jumps in to assist, while trying to help change her circumstances. They quickly become each other's better half. Charisma allows Kalm room to be vulnerable and space to find peace in his life. Kalm offers Charisma safety, protection, and family when she needed it most. They became everything the other person needed while love was blossoming. Cute read. 👍🏿👍🏿

I really enjoyed this story. Charisma and Kalm were both independent and headstrong characters, but thankfully, not in a way that became frustrating. I loved the reciprocity in their relationship. There was never a point where things felt imbalanced. When they each needed someone in their corner to support and pour into them, the other was able to do that effortlessly.
I also adored the playfulness between them. They both carried some heavy weights, so seeing them have fun together really showcased the emotional safety of their relationship. And I loved how protective they both were of Oasis.
There wasn’t much buildup to the romantic shift, so it did feel a bit abrupt, but I enjoyed their dynamic enough that it still worked for me.
There was some tension from outside characters, but thankfully, none between the couple, and even that conflict was handled pretty quickly. There were also some faith-based elements woven into their relationship and the story. I thought they were handled well and never felt overly preachy, but if faith-based themes aren’t your thing, that’s something to keep in mind.
Overall, I really enjoyed the dynamic between Charisma and Kalm. Their relationship felt supportive, playful, and mutually fulfilling, and that made this an enjoyable read for me.

So, one thing I’m gonna say is Kalm is the true definition of a PROTECTOR! 😭🫶🏽 I absolutely loved the way he loved and protected Charisma. The way he made sure she felt safe, loved, and cared for🥹❤️
I also loved how Charisma and Kalm became each other’s safe place. Their connection was everything! They were able to find comfort, love, and peace in each other, and I just ate that up! 😭
Overall, this was such a GOOD book! I just wish my girl Faith J. would’ve made it longer because I was NOT ready for it to end! 😂😭 I needed more Kalm and Charisma! Give me another 200 pages, PLEASE! 🥹🫶🏽

Let me tell you something: Faith J. be writing her BUTT off! 😂 Because this book? GOOD. Like, man… this book was SO dang good!
Let’s start with Charisma. Whew! Charisma comes from a toxic world, and honestly, her mama and grandma did her absolutely NO favors. But despite everything she had been through, she became a woman I could really get behind. Because Charisma didn’t just talk it—she walked it!
And then we have Kalm.
Lord. Kalm had me in my feelings! This man was such a stand-up dude, and everything he did was for his siblings. His mindset was basically, “I need to win. I need to get this money for my sister’s medical bills, and I need to make sure my brother gets a better lawyer.” Like… SIR! 😩
He has officially been added to the Book Boyfriend/Book Bae List—whatever we’re calling it these days! 😂 Because he was NOT disappointed.
I also loved how Charisma became part of his family. She didn’t just fall in love with Kalm; she genuinely cared about his family. Watching her help his sister and build her confidence while she was dealing with her own battles was beautiful. She meshed with that family so naturally, and I loved every bit of it. Now… that plot twist?!
WHEW! 😳 What her so-called best friend did to her was beyond messed up. Like, SICK. And once all the details came out about WHY that event happened, I was just sitting there thinking, Wow… sometimes people really don’t want to see you grow. They don’t want to see you win.
I loved the pacing.
I loved the plot.
I loved the twists.
I loved the characters.
I loved the relationship between Charisma and Kalm.
I loved the family dynamics.
And most importantly, I loved that Charisma and Kalm were genuinely there for each other.

This is my first book from this author, and I can honestly say I was disappointed. I picked it up based off the visuals but it just didn’t work for me. The story lacked development and, honestly, romance. they had some cute interactions, but it never really spoke to me. It didn’t bleed from the pages. The connection felt forced instead of naturally developing, and the story never really flowed.
Alsoooooo…..If you’re gonna add storylines like the brother being in jail and the sister having cancer, then actually execute them. Otherwise, what was the point? We never got any real time on page with a lawyer, I still don’t really understand why this man was in jail, and if sis was hired to take care of his sister and take her to her appointments… why didn’t we actually SEE any of that? Everything felt told instead of shown, and it kept pulling me out of the story. And what happened with the whole gang initiation situation? That felt like another storyline that was introduced and then just… there. Overall, it just felt patchy….like a bunch of pieces put together instead of one fully developed story. Again, disappointed!

Read this book
Listen, this book is real real!! Charisma is an exotic dancer who’s had a hard life. She is robbed by someone who she trusted and who she considered a friend. She meets Kalm on a day he received some traumatic news. She brightens his day even when her day is nothing to brag about. They go their separate ways but somehow they meet again. Kalm helps her out and she confides in him. He convinces her to stay in his home. Y’all Kalm is unhinged. His name doesn’t describe his true personality and he don’t play about Charisma. He shows her that he’s trustworthy and not just someone who’s trying to use her. He gives her a home, stability and family. Don’t get it twisted y’all, Charisma is just as unhinged as her man but together they bring softness out of each other. I loved their story. While their life experiences broke my heart, their connection mended all the cracks. I loved it.

Kalm and Charisma!!
Kalm had just received some devastating news, and Charisma had just been betrayed by the person closest to her. It was in the cards that Kalm and Charisma would be together, especially since they randomly ran into each other twice in one day. I'm glad that they gave so much to each other since they both were in need of that. I loved their banter and the love that they had for each other as well as for his brother and sister. I was happy that they all got to experience peace, joy and love. Charisma had me cracking up when she went to those apartments. I knew then that she matched Kalm's crazy. 😂😂 I was ecstatic when Bryaire and Dice got what they deserved. I had no sympathy at all for them. It was good to have Jah from The Cancer I Chose mentioned. I'm still hoping that he will get his own story in the future. This was another great Faith J. book that I highly recommend.

🥰 Kalm and Charisma
Who doesn’t love a sports romance? Mix that with a midnight ballerina who has hands and will read you for filth but loves hard and you’ll have Nobody Praying for Me.
Although Kalm is a terror in the boxing ring he’s the glue that’s keeping his family together. He loves extremely hard and is very protective.
Charisma never really knew love. The one person who she thought was in her corner betrayed her in the worst way. She was at the end of her rope but refused to give up.
This was such a sweet story of two souls that just needed each other.
Definitely recommend reading this and feeling the love.
*side note When good Sis smacked the rudeness out of the lil girl, her momma, and her sister I cackled!!🤭

Just Enough Charisma For Me!
I loved them. Kalm was the perfect mixture of peace, provider, and protection for not only his family but for Charisma as well. They became safety nets and everything the other had been missing. She was running from a past that was violated by someone she loved deeply and he had been hit by two big blows. They were able to help each other out. She fit right in and prayed over herself as well as he and his family daily. He ensured her nothing would ever come to disturb her peace or cause her pain again and he meant it. This book was emotional, sweet, and had plenty of drama to make you pull up a seat and not move until you were done and loving these characters. Faith J leaves you satisfied and praying for a Kalm to come cease your storms.

Don't you just love a good sports romance? I do, and this one doesn't disappoint. Kalm, Kaos, and Ocean were siblings who lost their parents in a car accident. Kalm, being the oldest, was tasked with taking care of them. On the worst day of his life, he meets Charisma which is also the worst day/days in her life. She is beautiful and sad. He wants to help and protect her instantly.
They engage in friendly banter, and go about their way. Later that day after tossing and turning, Kalm decides to go for a run and runs right into Charisma. The rest as they say is history.
This is a beautiful, warm-hearted story.

What a ride!
I always enjoy what I call quick and dirty. Lovable characters. Some real life drama with an alpha male handling his business. Can't forget Ms. Sneakers and grease! Family is represented strong here as well. I only gave it a four because I would have liked to see more with little sis at the end and Khaos.

Good read
Such a good read! I loved Charisma and Kalm as a couple. Don't the smooth taste fool you, Kalm was anything but when it came to Charisma and his siblings. And Charisma certainly knew how to throw hands behind those she loved. A very good book indeed.

Nobody playing for me
This was a really good book. The beginning was hard. There was a trigger for me; however, the outcome was worth it. Kalm and Chrisma help each other through a rough time. Everybody gets what they deserve.

Enjoyed…
This is a new to me author. This was short but impactful. I loved Kalm and his bond with his siblings. I also liked the dynamic between Kalm and Karisma. I look forward to reading more from this author.
