Succinct description of 'Mahasi noting' meditation. As my practice progressed I have read this short booklet at least 5 times. It is an amazing introduction to meditation and is the most useful introductory book I have found. With each reading came more insight.
This book showed me how to meditate and maintain awareness of my stomach, as well as how to practice walking meditation, be conscious in everyday movements, and stay aware of the present moment. Just like training our bodies for physical action, we also need to train our minds.
Very secular approach, short and to the point although with a lot of repetition (which is not a bad thing because it helps with memorizing, just a bit irritating - another object of meditation).
Amazing book. I have watched Yuttadhammo videos on "How to meditate" and this is an amazing complement with small and interesting details. I recommend this book to all people that want to start the meditation practice, specialty this for those who want to follow this meditation techniques.
