Fatality on the Field : A Steamy, Shifter, Mystery, College Romance

Rate this book
Our holiday trip to Hell was supposed to give us answers.

Instead, it handed us a locked book, a campus full of secrets, and a growing list of people who might want us dead.

Chasing leads across Discordia’s campus has us making progress on those mysteries with our new allies—who do me a solid by calling out Kaspar and Ignatius for their bullshit along the way.

Unfortunately, letting them into our bond gets put on pause until we get back home.

Our arrival on the surface is filled with chaos—Lucas’s legal situation is spiraling, and the football team qualified for a bowl that’s looming too close for comfort.

Maybe being unreachable in Hell for that amount of time was unwise?

Just when I think it can’t get worse, random ‘VIPs’ arrive with too many sharp teeth in their smiles not to be questionable. Threats follow close behind, and the target lands on someone I don’t trust, don’t like, yet still have to keep alive.

If I don’t handle this right, a football won’t be the only thing hitting the field.

Fatality on the Field is book three of five in the Secrets of State U series. It is part of the Legends of the Ouroboros universe and crosses over with the Faetal Attraction and Discordia University series.

I lost a day reading this one—a day. I started reading in the morning, and the next thing I knew, it was dark out. I was so immersed in this world that nothing could have dragged me out. Fatality on the Field was freaking epic, as I knew it would be. In the first chunk of this book, Morgana and her guys are still at Discordia with Kit, Rogue, and their crew. The story was lighter. Everyone was bonding, the guys who needed it were getting much-needed advice, and there was even a little adventure with a few animal sidekicks. I really enjoyed the groups meeting up, having a pow-wow, which might have been why I lost my mind when the gang from the Hollow finally made an appearance. Now, only if all the groups can meet up at once—that's the dream.

The rest of the book was Morgana and the gang dealing with a lot of BS. From admin BS to higher-ups' BS. If I were Morgana, I would have lost my mind. Heck, Channing is the only reason why she didn't. Channing is low-key amazing; I love her. She's competent and a true friend to Morgana, who seems to be gaining friends rapidly. I was completely sucked in. Those final couple of chapters were wild. There was one scene where I had my hopes up that we would finally get a clue about what Jolene is, and we got nothing. I knew it wasn't going to be revealed, in my head, but not in my heart. That was just cruel, Cass. Haha. The story ended on a doozy. And just when I thought it was over. That godsdarned bonus scene was something out of a horror movie. I'm a chicken; I don’t do scary movies! What the heck! Now everything is turned on its head. I have no idea what's going on anymore. Well played, Cass. Well played.

Fatality on the Field is the third book in the Secrets of State U series written by Cassandra Featherstone.

💜 fated mates
💜 found family
💜 new friendships
💜 mysteries
💜 🌶🌶 spice

This book picks up where the last one left off. Morgana and her men are staying with their friends at Discordia University. All three groups are trying to make sense out of what’s happening. All they want are answers. There’s also the bonus of them being able to get to know each other better and form new friendships. Will they get the answers that they are looking for? Will Morgana and her men have some more time to bond as a group when they get back? Will they be able to figure out who and why things are happening?

This was a good addition to not only this series but the interconnected world that has been created between this series and several other series that are being written as well. This is part of a much larger world with each book building more and more into the world. This book has so much depth and it’s exciting to start to see more of the intertwining of the stories. I gobbled this book up. As per usual, this one left off on a crazy cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see what will happen next.

No no no no no. It can’t end there. This follows on from Hell for the Holidays perfectly. I am so glad the characters from two other series by this author are in this book at the beginning. Combining them was a great decision. It works really well. All the characters are so different, yet work well together. Their interactions are nothing short of brilliant. Though this series is primarily about Morgana, the other characters play a huge part and you get to know them well. In this book, a new ‘family’ is introduced and I am really looking forward to finding out more about them. I can’t wait for the next book. If you have read the other books in this series, you will love this book. If you haven’t, you’re missing out.

Wow this book!! Cass did it again with this one! Left me guessing what could happen next! I love this series and the world building Cass brings to life in every book. This one is no exception. I did realize that I need to read another series of hers, since characters from that series made cameos, but it just gives me more to look forward to! I can’t wait to see what happens here and how this evil gets brought into the other books set in this world! Thank you to Cass for an arc copy of this book for this honest review.

An action-packed, unputdownable read! This book kept me glued to the pages from the very beginning. I have loved all of the crossovers with other series and getting to see some of my other favourite characters. This third book of Secrets of State U might just be my favourite of the series and I absolutely cannot wait to see what happens next! Here's hoping the next book comes soon!

Why would the trip only leave us with more questions? A book that's as unknown as those trying to kill them, and more campus secrets. However, the new allies did read Kaspar and Ignatius the Riot Act. Bonding with them will have to wait while Lucas' legal problems keep spiraling. Will these new threats and "VIPs" who seem sketchy ruin everything they've built?

A really good continuation to the Secrets of State U series. You definitely need to have read hell for the holiday as the story continues with Morgana and the guys in hell. Just when it seems that Morgana has finally made some head way with the university it all goes horribly wrong at the game. I am really looking forward to book four and how everything comes together.

I really enjoyed the beginning that was still in hell with the Discordia crew. By the end of the book, there were so many people in it, I wasn’t sure who was what. I’m not sure reverse harems are built for cross overs like this - there are so many people to keep track of.

Morgana might be my favorite FMC from this author, and this 3rd installment did not disappoint. I loved both crossovers at the beginning and end of this novel. The pace was perfect and kept me hooked to find out what happens next.

Great adventure! I adore this found family. Loved seeing some of my favorite characters from other series! It’s all starting to come together and I love that the FMCs in the other stories are finding a strong friendship among themselves. What an ending and I cannot wait to see what happens next!!
