After years of being away from each other, Skylar and her longtime boyfriend Arman decided to give their relationship another try. Arman loves Skylar to death, but he can't seem to stay faithful no matter how hard he tries. Skylar has never been a fool for a man and she’s refusing to start now. Never being the kind of woman to sit at home waiting for her man to do right, she instead gives Arman a dose of his own medicine. A series of unfortunate events take place as a result of their infidelities and things quickly go from bad to worse. Will Skylar and Arman's love stand the many curveballs that are thrown their way or will they count their losses and move on? Some say to never say never, but Skylar feels otherwise. She knows what she won't do for love and that's settle for less the what she feels that she deserves.
Chenelllllllllll can do no dang wrong when it comes to these books. I don’t know how I managed to slip by this one, but this book was sooooooo good!!!!!! I don’t know who was more crazy Sky or Mannie. Their relationship was so toxic, but I was very pleased that they got it together in the end and had a family. Renee was a few fries short of a happy meal with her dumb self. Mannie wasn’t giving her false hope that they would be together, but the girl just couldn’t get a clue. Roc was 50 shades of cray. Time and time again sky told him what it was and he just couldn’t get it through his head. Lawddddddd this book was soooooo juicy and I looked forward to each page as I continued to read. Perfection!!!!! Another book that has blown me away.
Loved it! When u love sumbody u will do the unthinkable. I never understood how u can hurt the one u love but with that said Mannie was an example of that. I'm so happy he got it together.
Whew chile, when I say Sky and Arman took me on a roller coaster, just know that it was a bumpy ride. You could always tell the love that they had for each, but I seemed like they couldn't just never get it right. I think the time apart when Mannie was in jail really gave them time to think and had their heart longing for each other. I'm glad they got their act together and became a loving couple. What Chris did wasn't right, but Renee was bound to get hurt by somebody because of her ways. I enjoyed this read, and like always, Chenell never disappoints.
This book was really good I swear this author never disappointed. The book draws you in from the first page. I swear Mannie and Sky take you on a ride. I love the fact how they was always there for each other. Another good was that this was standalone.
We’re back in New Orleans with What You Won’t Do for Love, where Chenell Parker introduces us to a cheating, dysfunctional, yet unbreakable couple—Arman Ramos (aka Mannie) and Skylar Mason (aka Sky). In many ways, Sky is the female version of Mannie, but where they differ is in how they handle conflict. When things get too toxic, Sky runs, while Mannie wants to stands his ground, ready to argue it out. Their immediate family understands that their love is unconditional, but outsiders looking to find a way in—or break them up—believe otherwise.
Sky and Mannie not only prove that the catch back is real, but they also serve as the judge, jury, and executioner in their own relationship. More importantly, they show just how far they’re willing to fight to stay together.
This book doesn’t just introduce us to Skylar and Arman—it also brings us into the world of their families, the Ramos and Mason clans. Through them, we not only see what Skylar and Arman won’t do for love, but also what their family and friends—Renee, Kara, Chris, Tamara, Shane, Connie, Armando, Carla, Trell, Roc, Dana, and Cortez—will do, sometimes in ways we might never expect.
The Mason-Ramos family truly shows us the meaning of what some would do for love.
What you won't do for love? When it comes to this book, evidently it's a whole lot! I loved Kara, she was on some grown woman shit. Her and her child's father didn't work out and she never caused any drama for him with the woman in his life. It's easy to see why she did too... She was over him and moved on. Sky be giving Mannie a run for his money, he met more than his match😂. I still don't know exactly how I feel about her tho. I would rather leave than to stoop to Mannie level. Their relationship was really based on lies and games to me. But somehow in their own crazy way, they make it work, I guess😒. Renee has to be one of the most silliest, dumbest, naive broads I have ever met in my life (well read about, I take these character seriously😂). Like Damn girl, what more do ole boy have to do for you to move on? I really did not like this girl! Dana, po thang she was a straight bird brain when it came to men. The more I read this authors books, the more she climbs the chart in my top 10 favorite authors 5* I really enjoyed this book
Ok so although I did enjoy reading this book, I did not enjoy all the childish behavior and all the back and forth. Arman and Sky were both a trip with their tit for tat foolery. Sky's mom was dead wrong for how she handled Shane and his child out of wedlock. Shane was wrong for allowing her to stop him from having a relationship with his child. It was just sad all the way around. Although I enjoy Chenell Parkers books, I just didn't like all the childishness especially with characters like Renee and Chris who just couldn't catch a clue. It took drastic measures for them to wake up from their dillusions and it was just annoying. Glad that Arman and Sky got it together but I just wish just didn't take all that time for them grow up and act like adults.
Mannie was beyond crazy but that's how one can be when love is involved. Mannie and Sky were both wrong throughout their relationship and I thought for sure they'd never get it right. Renee had to be humbled and it was unfortunate what led to it. Dana was straight dumb and Serena or Sky should've beat her ass once everything was revealed. Roc was delusional and I'm glad he got what he deserved. I felt bad for Chris because everyone has a breaking point and no one wants to constantly be used. Tam was something else and Shane needed to be slapped because of how he handled Trell. I swear I had my laughs throughout this read but it's definitely true that you can never say what you won't do for love and Mannie and Sky proved it.
This story has SO many life lessons behind it. Everything that looks good ain't good for you and don't let a pretty face fool you. Manny was the pretty boy good hair and full of swag, but a dog. Chris was straight up ugly skinny and a cool dude with a heart of gold. Chris's actions proved just how you have to be careful how you treat people!! Sky baby was the girl you passed up until she showed up and showed out. Her and Manny was two of a kind that just fit. Very good read.
Mannie and Sky was getting on my nerves with the constant cheating and fighting especially Mannie like how you cheat get caught beg for Sky not to leave then go cheat again like make it make sense.. Men really do that tho lol.. Renee butt was just stupid he was never hers to begin with so idk why she thought Mannie he was every going to be with her and Chris was wrong for what he did he should have took that L and kept moving but she also was wrong for playing with his heart.. Overall im happy with the HEA
Usually with Ms. Chanelle books the new man would always win. It was refreshing to read Arman and Sky's story and the original man (the main man) won. If that makes sense. Anywho, I enjoyed this read so much that I didn't sleep until I read the entire book! Arman was bat shit crazy and Sky loved it immensely! Never say what you won't do for love and play upon someone feelings. You push them over the edge like Renee did Chris
You better get ready for a wild ride because these characters are about to make it a rollercoaster. I was so busy trying to like Mannie , sweat he just couldn't get it together. But I loved how Sky showed him two could play it....Their dysfunctional love is the backdrop for a really good story.....Moon
It was so much tit for tat I was about to give up on Arman & Sky. I was at the point that I wanted them to find somebody else😂. I also think that Sky was not wrong for anything that she did. But for some reason, the men in her life couldn't understand that. I guess I understand because I'm petty😂
The relationship of Mannie & Sky was the typical hood love. Renee was a typical hate stupid BM. Tam was one hateful Bih too. Shane was less than a man to me. Dana was just a big a**dummy. Roc with his delusional a**. Love the sisters relationship. Grandma Janice was the truth.
Sky and Mannie were nearly dating as cousins. I finished the book but that through me off. Also, the level of dysfunction was too much at some points. I was thinking Sky was going to be killed because of her and Mannie's disregard for others. I appreciate this not being a series
This book was slow in the beginning but after it go going...... I couldn't out it down! I love Sky although I thought I wanted her to be with Roc, until Mannie grew up and became everything that she needed!
I love Chenell Parker books but this book did not do it for me. I could not finish reading it because of the stupid, childish stuff that Sky was doing. After Mannie beat Cortez band Sky acted like it was normal, I had to stop reading it.
I absolutely loved this book. I loved me some mannie and sky. I really didn’t feel sorry for what happened to Renee, because you do not play with somebody feelings like that. I loved trell and sky relationship. Loved the flow of this story.
Sky gave Mannie a dose of his own medicine. Renee went to far especially playing with Chris. Kara bossed up and move on and was not bitter about anything. Great Read like always
Both amin characters worked my nerves for much of the book, but I appreciated the show of growth in them as the book progressed. It just prove there's a lot more than love that's needed for a successful relationship.
I’m a fan of this author, but this book had entirely too many characters and it felt like nobody did anything significant or interesting in the whole story. Cheating, forgiving, cheating, baby mamas, babies. Sums up the whole story
I'm in my feelings a little. I thought I read this author's entire catalog but I fooled myself. This was a good book. It was a lot of snakes hiding in the Rose bushes. My heart went out to Chris. I hope we get him sprinkled in a future read.
Everything about this book and every character was toxic AF!! It was another good book by Ms Parker but wheeeew! I only gave 4 stars because I’m tired of her making the main character pregnant and have a bunch of babies that’s always the storyline
