Spin-off of "My Brother's Best Friend", available to read on Wattpad.com
One of the best books i've come across on wattpad... makes me kinda realise how blessed i am time and again yet i can't help but fall in love with every character ....i hope im not wrong when i say i definately like it much more than "my brother's best friend". One of the kind where u wish it continues for a long time and are not really waiting for an end or happily ever after stuff...
This book is in my top 3 books on wattpad. It deals with mental illnesses and how it is to have one, how it is to recover from it and to relapse as well as finding a way to cope with it. It contains lots of humor and sarcasm as well as seriousness and the author really shows that she can balance these elements in a fantastic way. Although most books about mental illnesses contain these elements this author manages to make her book unique and I believe it is because of the way she manages to describe her characters. Each character is unique and is really their own person and that shows how talented this author really is. She's one of my favorite authros on Wattpad and I can't wait for her books to be published so I can buy them. This book is therefor simply amazing and so if you're looking for a book that deals with mental illnesses but is more about finding a way to live in the times of survival this is definietly the book for you!
This is so much better than MBBF. It's told mostly from the POV of Lee, Parker's brother who he has guardianship of after the death of their parents. Lee has ADHD, Panic Disorder and he's Bipolar. This takes place after Parker has switched him to a new school after what happened in the last book, the epilogue hasn't taken place yet. It's not often books describe panic attacks accurately but knightsrachel just gets it. It was so well written I felt like I was right there in it. She is careful to put trigger warnings on not only the front page of the story but also the chapters that contain triggers so that you can easily skip a chapter and not miss out on the story. Read My Brother's Best Friend first, it's worth it! Both are on Wattpad.
So I first read this book as it was being written and it was always one I saw on my Wattpad notifications and I immediately went to read it. Since then, I’ve reread it at least 20 times. I love the characters and the author has a brilliant way of describing to where I feel like I’m there. I also love how she brings in both mental and physical illnesses not only in this book, but in others. By doing this, she’s helping people who have no knowledge of bipolar disorder, or the effects of serious asthma, etc. understand what others are going through. If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would.
Don’t get me wrong this book was dark, but in the best way. Lee is so well written and just loveable as a character. This book dealt with relationships, relapses and mood swings so perfectly. Honestly I have no critiques. Excellent sequel and great use of multiple point of views for the audience’s experience.
It’s been 4 years since I’ve read this book but let me tell you I’m still touched till this day! My favorite EVER! Sometimes I catch myself saying “ okay, Lee. I hear you “ to comfort myself. This will forever be one of my favorites!
Read this one YEARS ago and there’s a reason I go back, and back again even now to read it again. The mental health representation in this book is so mature for a wattpad book and completely unmatched. I actually loved Parker so much more in this book compared to the first, I think because I really love seeing him in the big brother/guardian mode. Lee will forever and always hold a very special place in my heart.
