About the author

Née le 4 mai 1988, Marion Fayolle grandit en Ardèche et intègre l'école des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg en 2006 et obtient son diplôme en juin 2011.
C'est au sein de l'atelier d'illustration qu'elle rencontre Matthias Malingrey et Simon Roussin avec lesquels elle fonde en 2009 la revue Nyctalope. Son premier livre, L'homme en pièces, vient de paraître aux éditions Michel Lagarde. Il s'agit d'un recueil d'histoires sans paroles, d'un ensemble de petits numéros aux ambiances poétiques et décalées dans lesquels les parents arrosent leurs enfants comme des plantes et les femmes allument les hommes comme des bougies.
Elle travaille également pour l'édition jeunesse et la presse : revue XXI, Paris mômes...

I found this book when I went to see Joan Cornellà art show in Paris at Arts Factory Gallery.

I really enjoy this kind of book - an exploration of visual language, visual humor, direct illustration. No text, no background. Minimal, witty illustrations delivered in a deadpan way.

Not everyone can succeed at this kind of humor. I've seen visual books that set out to do something similar and just miss the mark as they fall back on repeating trite stereotypes.

This book hits the nail on the head. It entertains the reader, it captures your attention, and it raises some questions about our collective unconscious and why we choose these metaphors to describe sexual experience.

Joya visual, pequeño obra de arte que te deja sin palabras. Solo tienes que sumergirte y dejarte llevar por las ilustraciones. Si eres muy puritano no es para ti, pero encierra un mensaje muy claro hace la sexualización de ciertas posturas de la vida. 100% recomendable.

This is pure genital goofiness that I love seeing from the female artist's point·of·view!

*I don't know if that printing information was the same as the eo a month earlier, that I assume this shares the same D.L. with (14 May 2014), so I just listed for possible interest in English (so it fit on one line). While noting publisher stuff I'll also mention that Éditions Magnani has the most singular spine text that I've seen- it's like you see in the bottom corner of the cover putting no more than three letters going horizontally per line.
