A woman of an unknown race with tentacles instead of arms and huge glowing eyes stood browsing. She obviously needed help and was probably looking for something that wasn't on display. So Ethan and Annabel directed her to the assistant that was nearby. The unusual woman tried to get the attention of the assistant.
"Excuse me, can you help me?" kindly asked the woman.
The shop assistant smiled insincerely and approached the customer. Annabel did not understand a word, but for Ethan it was plain English.
"Do you have a Hookozza liver? My liver has worn-out and I need a transplant," said the woman who apparently was a Hookozza.
Ethan at first did not understand what the Hookozzan woman was talking about and approached the counter to examine more closely. Only then, did he notice that it wasn't food in the coolers, but tissues and organs for transplantation. He stepped back from the shop window with disgust and daren't share what he'd seen with Annabel.
"We have brand new cloned hearts just in," the friendly assistant was trying to cover the fact he clearly had no livers in stock.
The woman turned and walked away disappointed. Ethan and Annabel were next.
"Hi, I'm interested in a hyperdrive fuel and two liters of serum," the Earth boy began timidly in English.
Annabel was confused, but the shop assistant smiled, this time sincerely.
"Yes, we have what you want. Come with me," said the consultant and headed to the cash register.
Mr Ford claims this book features an introduction by Sir Terry Pratchett. This is a lie. There is no introduction by anybody.
The prose is amateurish and strongly reminiscent of the worst of the pulp fiction published in the 40's and 50's. Sadly, as this edition is on Kindle, it can't be pulped and recycled into something useful but I am seriously considering burning my Kindle. I don't think anything else could ever remove the taint of this terrible book.
Now you may say I'm being unkind in giving a bad review to a book I haven't read completely. Perhaps you would also ask "Why did you stop walking into the house fire when you only had 10% burns? It might have got better as you went in! You'll never know now." All I can say is that when I think of the part of Skywalker I did read - that burning house is sounding pretty damn enticing.
I've had to up my initial from a richly-deserved zero stars to one star in order for my review to count towards the average, But mentally subtract my star from that average, please.
Terry Pratchett HAD NOTHING TO DO with this appalling drivel. This is nothing but a disgusting attempt to cash in by piggy-backing on Sir Terry's reputation.
This 'novel' is utterly puerile, badly written drivel and has NO CONNECTION to Terry Pratchett whatsoever.
The lawyers of Sir Terry's estate have issued take-down notices to Amazon and will pursue any further infringement by the person claiming to be the author - who is also pulling the same scam by using Tom Clancy's name on other 'works' under the names of Dario Ford or Bozhidar Gospodinov.
I repeat: TERRY PRATCHETT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS
