Cora’s sister Selene cracked me up when she’d tease Cora about getting with Cora’s friend Julian, a PI she worked with to see why a local woman just suddenly died for no reason. The reason turned out to be even weirder than Bandit Hills itself. I’m not sure if part of this story is gonna carry over. I sorta hope it doesn’t because I’m glad to be rid of that killer. But I’m definitely eager to see what the next book brings.
I knew something of this series when it was out before but I never gave it the time of day once I saw it was previously written in present tense. I can’t handle reading that style of writing so I passed on it. I’m so glad it got a facelift courtesy of Emma Ainsley and now it’s just normal tense like I enjoy reading.
