Billionaire’s Plot Twist by K.C. Crowne was a book I found on Kindle Unlimited. Normally, I really don’t like mafia romance, but I decided to read it because there was plus-size representation.

I had read another one of K.C. Crowne’s books a couple of months ago, and to be honest, the plot of this one just seemed very similar to the other one.

I really didn’t like this book because the romance was lacking, and the plot was just way too convenient. Everything just falls into line exactly how it is supposed to.

It had potential with the whole idea of the boss finding her novel and helping her write the book. That was actually the part of the book that excited me. But then that part just fell away and the story became more about the mafia plot.

Honestly, I didn’t buy the love story. It was too fast, too convenient, and I never felt enough emotional development between them for the relationship to feel believable.

The writing itself was also hard for me to get through. It felt very technical and overly structured, and it just didn’t feel natural to me. The analogies, the way everything is explained, the emotional descriptions, and how neatly everything is tied together made me too aware of the writing instead of getting lost in the story. It felt formulaic rather than organic, and the romance especially came across almost like textbook writing instead of something I could actually feel developing between the characters.

The characters also did not feel believable to me.

Her ex is a narcissist, and I keep seeing this in romance novels where an author just labels the villain a narcissist without really giving the background or psychology to show what that actually means. If you read the psychology behind the ex and the way the plot moves through it, it just didn’t feel natural to me.

There also always seems to be a woman who wants the male main character and then betrays him. That was in the other books I read too.

I’ve read three books by this author now, and the plot lines feel very similar. It just seems like the same kind of plot gets repeated.

I understand that romance has tropes and repeated structures. I read a lot of romance. But this book did not feel like natural writing to me.

That is how I felt reading this book, and that is my review of both this book and the writing style of this author.

I actually love the plot ideas this author comes up with. I think the ideas have potential. But this is how I feel when I read the books, and I was disappointed.

It all started with a humiliating misdirected email of a Romantasy manuscript based on her boss. It’s all the opening Gianni Russo needed. What a great character Violet Wolfe is. I loved her and the detailed description that this author gives us of both her physical appearance and strong personality… traits that are spot on. She’s observant of everybody and everything, and always seems to be scanning and assessing and cataloging people while she’s constantly on guard to blend in. To not be noticed . I loved her strength and intelligence and the mystery she’s hiding while in plain view. And because of that, I was immediately invested in this story. The plot thickens when dirty FBI agents close in on her boss, Gianni Russo of Russo Industries and his affiliated entities claiming RICO charges. It becomes a game of war between an egomaniacal FBI agent, who’s willing to go to any lengths to take down Gianni Russo without understanding exactly what a formidable force and savvy conqueror Gianni Russo, head of the Camorra, actually is. One who fights with unending, methodical patience to utterly destroy while maintaining his eye on Violet. This author smoothly weaves the romantic side of this story with the legal battle pressures Gianni faces so well keeping the reader sitting straight up with anticipation, rubbing her hands together with a stupid grin on her face, waiting for the fight to start. It was awesome.

The few points that would’ve made this book better for me were:
1. Giving us an idea of the age difference between Violet and Gianni and not having to wait until maybe chapter 38 to find out. I for one would’ve appreciated a more in-depth backstory of Gianni as well.
2. Giving the reader some insight of what it was about Violet that attracted Gianni in the first place. I understand Gianni, being the head of the Camorra, is a professional criminal and adept and noticing people, but he worked 34 floors above Violet. The only opportunity for him to notice her was if/when she traveled to his floor to use a printer?!? She dressed in disguise with oversized clothes and wearing glasses ; (which doesn’t fool him and only makes him more suspicious of her), so what did he initially see in her that he found attractive? And when they finally “do the deed”, why does he never comment on her obviously oversized clothes? I would’ve appreciated knowing these points sooner without having to wait until maybe chapter 47. It would’ve just been nice to know going in.

You might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Violet is the office manager of Russo Industries so freaking sweet, talking about girl power, strong, determined, single mom who is very protective of her baby (talk about a mama bear) she finally found the strength to run from an abusive ex. husband. She has been hiding under a new identity, writing a romance book not just any romance book but a steamy, sizzling, hot book starring her boss, but mostly for her it was her fantasy and it would have stayed that way until one click of a button attaching it to an email that went out to the team which included the very boss who is the star of the fantasy. Which leads her to being summoned to the boss’s office and her wondering why, what did she do, is she in trouble, heading up to the office anxiety, until she arrived for her meeting. Gianni sexy as all get out much older boss, he isn’t a man you want on your radar, dangerous, ruthless, on a good day, deadly every day, he runs the underbelly of the city, so when he got his little office managers manuscript he couldn’t put it down in fact, he wanted more of her book, he wanted more of her the women, and usually he gets what he wants. The more time they spend with each other he knows she is hiding something and wanting her to trust him enough to tell him what’s going on but will she tell him that danger follows her, will he accept her son, will he keep them safe, will he push her to finish the book, and can they find their way to happiness somewhere along the way?

I really enjoyed this one!

The way Violet and Gianni's story begins had me hooked almost immediately. Accidentally sending the very spicy book you've written about your terrifyingly powerful billionaire boss where he can actually READ IT is a level of embarrassment I genuinely don't think I'd recover from. 😂

I loved Violet. She's funny, relatable and stronger than she initially gives herself credit for, and as more of her past is revealed, you understand why she's spent so long making herself smaller and trying not to be noticed. Watching her slowly reclaim her confidence, her writing and ultimately her life was probably my favourite part of the story.

And Gianni... possessive, powerful, protective and completely gone for her. Exactly the kind of MMC I love. 🔥 What I particularly liked, though, was that for all his power and his instinct to protect her, Violet's story didn't become about him rescuing her. He gave her somewhere safe to stand while she found her own strength again.

Their chemistry is HOT, but there was plenty going on outside the romance too. The danger surrounding Violet's past added suspense, and I loved the softer moments that gradually revealed another side to Gianni beneath all that control.

The ending was especially satisfying. Seeing Violet finally own her talent and recognise everything that had been taken from her emotionally made the whole journey feel complete.

Spicy, suspenseful, emotional and ridiculously addictive. I flew through it. ❤️🔥

Violet accidentally sends her steamy manuscript about her dangerous boss to the wrong people, including Gianni Russo himself. Instead of firing her, Gianni wants to know more about her fantasies and offers to help with her research. As their relationship develops, Violet’s hidden identity and dangerous past threaten the future she is building for herself and her young son.

I really enjoyed this dark and suspenseful office romance. Violet was a strong, intelligent heroine whose guarded nature made perfect sense considering everything she had survived. I especially liked her determination to protect her child and create a safer life under a new identity. Gianni was ruthless, powerful, and possessive, but he also showed patience and genuine care when it mattered. Their chemistry was intense, and the manuscript setup created some wonderfully awkward and entertaining moments between them. The romance blended well with the criminal investigation, legal pressure, and danger surrounding Violet. I would have liked more information about Gianni’s background and a clearer explanation of what first attracted him to Violet, since those details came much later than expected. Even so, the story kept me invested with secrets, betrayal, violence, emotional healing, and plenty of spice. Overall, it was a compelling and entertaining read.

She fears she is going to lose her job, but instead, he wants to know more about her book. He loves what she has written and wants to help her finish it. Gianni has a caveat: he thinks her intimate scenes could be stronger, and he wants to help her improve them. She omits telling him that she has a son. Plus, she is keeping secrets from him. What will happen when Violet's past comes back to haunt her and inserts itself into Gianni's business? Can Gianni trust her, or is she a plant from their threat? The author keeps you turning the pages with twists and turns you dont see coming. Will Gianni be able to keep Violet and her son safe from their threat?

Billionaire’s Plot Twist is one of the best stories I have read in a long time. It gripped me from the beginning until the end. Gianni is a CEO of a large company, as well as a Camorra head. Violet is his office manager, as well as a mother to an adorable 4-year-old son. She is hiding from her violent FBI ex-husband who is determined to find her. In her previous life before running, she was a published writer and is currently working on a sexy romance novel. She accidentally sent a copy to Gianni, and he figured out that he was the fantasy man in her book! Of course, he volunteers to help her with her “research”. What a great way to start their story!

Their relationship gets complicated, the FBI is investigating him, and the lead agent is none other than her ex-husband. There are layers upon layers of threats from several sid4es to both Gianni, Violet, and her young son. Gianni is the ultimate protector and will do anything within his power to protect them. K.C. Billionaire's Plot Twist is in the Silver Fox Daddies series. It is another well-written and suspenseful story.

Violet is a single mom to a young son who works as an office manager. She ran from an abusive ex and has a secret identity. In her free time she writes a romance book who has her boss, Giannai, as the star male main character. He has no idea. When Gianni calls her into his office, she doesn't know why. He tells her that she accidentally sent him pages of her romance book. She is shocked and embarrassed. Gianni wants more of the story so he wants her to send more pages. He is the kind of man you don't get involved with. He runs the city. As they get closer, he realizes she is hiding something from him. He wants her to trust him.

I loved how strong Violet was in wanting to keep herself and her son safe from her ex. I loved the chemistry she had with Gianni. I loved the age gap/office romance trope. It was filled with emotions and secrets. I look forward to the next story from this very talented author.

Their developing relationship is consuming, hot and paved with difficulties. Can he gain her trust at the same time as keeping her and her child safe all the while an FBI investigation is underway, a rival syndicate is moving against him and her narcissistic, deranged ex is circling?

An intense, absolutely fantastic story with plot twists, betrayals, jealousy, and gritty danger. What's not to love about a gruff, morally grey crime boss turning out to be the hero Violet needs. Another winner from this author!.

This was an amazing read! Violet is hiding from an abusive ex while raising her son on her own, so accidentally emailing her manuscript to her employer is definitely not what she needed. But when Gianni gets his hands on it, he makes it his mission to help her—and keeping her safe becomes just as important.

Gianni may not exactly be a good guy, but he can’t stay away from Violet. Add in hiding identities, the FBI, an obsessed ex, and a heated romance, and you’ve got a quick, exciting read with plenty of twists.

I loved how some of the situations felt almost believable—especially the oops, I accidentally sent my manuscript moment! 😂 And I’ve gotta say, Violet’s best friend was one of my favorites. She has spunk, isn’t afraid to stand up for Violet, and is more than willing to take on the bad guys.

A fast, hot romance with danger, secrets, and just enough craziness to keep you turning the pages!.

Loved Mr. silver fox who knew that Ms. single mum was all his and so help anyone that tried to hurt her or her child, looking at you ex-husband!
Nice writing, and characterizations, drama, family dynamics, surprises, secrets, emotion, and passions in one heck of a good read that was a thrill all the way through to that HEA.

Pretty Good Book

This was a decent book. I enjoyed it for the most part, it was well written.
I will say it was predictable though. You've got a girl on the run, a mafia boss H, the ex husband, who's the bad guy and a jealous ex-lover (OW) who goes after the h to remove her so the H would come back to her.
Not really sure what the plot twist in the title was supposed to be because there wasn't a plot twist. Like I said, it was predictable.
There were some inconsistencies especially in the epilogues. Those took place 2 1/2 years after the main story ended.
The book Violet wrote was turned into a publisher at the end of the story but wasn't approved for publishing until the epilogue 2 1/2 years later?
She says at one point that the trouble they had was only in the past a few months but according to the epilogue, again, 2 1/2 years had passed.
These were minor but the epilogues felt rushed because of it.

I have read almost every KC Crowne book and I love this silver fox daddy’s series. And what to say about this one. I do tend to get hooked on the whole mafia thing. What do you say about a book that holds your interest throughout the entire thing. Violet is actually a very strong female lead, although she has been beaten down in her life. Her best friend helped her disappear and start over with her son. Fortunately, for her, she caught the attention of Gianni. She did not know it at the time, but finding him would prove to be a lifesaver literally. There’s is a true love story of two people coming together through so much adversity. Gianni may be part of the underworld, but he is one of the good guys compared to violet‘s ex-husband. What do you do when the FBI comes after your new love.? There are parts where you don’t even know who are the good guys or the bad guys. There is never a dull moment and happily ever after is amazing.

This story plunges us into the deep end of lust, love, danger and betrayal from the start. There is no dipping the toes in or wading in to test the water, and who needs that when the water is perfect.

Violet is strong, determined and protective of her young son. She ran from an abusive husband and has been hiding within a new identity, while writing a steamy romance starring her boss. It's just wishful thinking until he receives a copy and decides to give her some notes. Hands-on notes.

This is not a simple romance, though. Gianni is a mafia boss and brings his own danger to this relationship as well as her abusive ex who is still lurking in the world. Mix in jealousy and betrayal (from rivals, not these two MC's) and we have a wonderful, fully developed story.

I fell in love with this book from the very start. It will pull from the very first paragraph.
Violet is a single mum, with many secrets. One that keeps her hidden and the other as a steamy writer. One wrong email attachment and her sexy older boss Gianni, starts rewrites and some very on hand notes.
Gianni has walls but when curvy, red he’d Violet sends him her book in progress , he can’t help himself.
I loved the characters. He lets her know very fast who he really is and what his other business is. Her trust in men is so low, but a dinosaur with shoes changes everything.
So many twist, strong characters, true friends, secrets on many levels. Danger, drama, betrayal , jealousy, pure heat and amazing characters.
A wonderful little boy called Patrick.

This is the first one of this author's books I've read, and I am definitely going to be reading more! I was pleasantly surprised by how much depth the characters had - especially the complicated, morally gray main male character. The heroine is brave and feisty and I was rooting for her the whole way through. I loved the quirky side characters, especially Patrick, the adorable little boy. There was plenty of excitement and suspense. I enjoyed the way the violence was mainly off screen and alluded to as I prefer it when it's not in your face. This was a well written dark romance. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading dark romance and mafia romance. Or who just loves a sexy, alpha hero who's tamed by the love of a good woman.

The manuscript twist was such a fun and spicy setup, while the suspense surrounding her hidden past kept the story moving. Add in a protective billionaire mafia boss, a curvy single mom, and a “touch her and die” attitude, and I was hooked! Some moments required suspending disbelief, but overall, this was entertaining, hot, dramatic, and addictive! 🖤🔥

I really liked this one! The whole secret romance writer setup was fun, especially once her boss realizes exactly who she’s been writing about. Their chemistry was easy to get into, and I liked that the story had more going on than just the romance. Her past, her son, and the danger following her added some suspense without taking over the book. I also loved how quickly he went from trying to keep his distance to being completely protective of her and her little boy. He was possessive, a little over the top, and totally all in once he fell. This was another fast, entertaining KC Crowne read with plenty of heat, drama, and a satisfying HEA. ❤️🔥.

So well done I loved the tease and the banter. The play between them and the slow build of the romance. I loved this book. An old subject handled with originality. So good!.

Violet accidentally sends her manuscript out and it lands in Gianni’s space. He reads it all and calls her in to offer her help with research and wants her to finish the book with his personal help. She is mortified and a bit turned on. She is also way in over her head while trying to lay low and keep her and her son safe. The ones hunting her are also the ones gunning for Gianni and his empire. In the end, everyone got what they deserved. I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to others.

As these two are falling for each other (though they aren’t admitting it) her ex is trying to build a case against him to get to her and Gianni is going to do what he needs to do to save her, his company and himself. Great story!.

The entire story from beginning to end was fun and a real adventure. There were plot twists in there, no put intended, that I wasn't expecting. This was kind of a mashup of different tropes that really speak to me, and the way the storyline unfolded was very well done. From the very first page I was drawn in, and it didn't let go until the last page. And even then I wanted more. I love the characters, and I loved how the characters were developed throughout the story. You didn't just get a character who stayed the same throughout the book, there were lots of emotional and mental changes and that only helps develop the plot further.

The twists to this story from starting from something super steamy to a whole lot of action and touching moments!!! This was so well-written and you can't put it down. This is a must read!!
