These stories are not crafted for me, pen-to-paper, outlined with a three act structure, or imagined for a mass audience. No oral stories are. So, I will not rate them (and am going to try to avoid rating stories that come from an oral tradition in the future).
However, I enjoyed them in a similar way that I enjoy the Mabinogion. The images are just so haunting and beautiful. The narrative itself feels real, because, as mentioned above, it has its origins as something told in a particular social context rather than something manufactured for publication.
