Nikki gets a huge surprise at the end of Part One, when Xavier ends up at the party being thrown by the suspected drug dealers that she thinks has something to do with Eli's death. Could Xavier turn out to he "El Jefe"???
She gets herself into deeper trouble when she goes to the Detective in charge of her brother's case. Nikki tells him she thinks her brother was murdered and that the accident scene was staged. This doesn't go over very well and she is pretty much advised to get out of town.
Now she feels her life is in danger and she is being followed. On top of all that, she can't fight her attraction to Xavier. Even though he could possibly be the Drug Lord that murdered her brother, she finds herself giving in to her desires but her naivete may just have caused the death of an innocent woman.
Will Nikki turn against Xavier? Is he really the bad guy? Or should she be a little less trusting of DEA Agent Barton? Book three comes out in a few days, so we will get our answers soon.

The last book ended with Nikki questioning who Xavier really is. We don't know if he's good or bad, but Nikki can't seem to stay away from him. Nikki doesn't know what to believe, and is very confused about Xavier's intentions. She runs hot & cold with him, and he thinks she's playing games. He's this super hot, fun, charming guy who seems so decent, but who Nikki also doesn't know enough about. He makes her feel special & they share an intense connection & crazy chemistry, but they come from different worlds & she fears she doesn't really know who he is.
-The lust I see in his gaze, the electricity between us, nearly makes me forget everything else.
-I feel like I'm going to explode with need for him.
-His kisses seem to wake up every part of my body.
As Nikki continues trying to uncover the mystery surrounding Eli's death, she puts herself at risk. She knows the truth is being covered up & plays detective to try & get the answers her & her family need to finally have closure about Eli. All her digging makes her a target when the bad people her brother was involved with come after her. She's in over her head & suddenly feels threatened & not safe. She continues to put her self in danger trying to figure out who the drug boss is & she doesn't know who to trust anymore. I really enjoyed this 2nd installment & look forward to finally getting some answers about Xavier in book 3!

This thriller intensifies as Xavier is clearly unable to resist Nicole and he is relentless when it comes to her. Nicole is very scare of the unknown and when it comes to sexy Xavier, she can't even trust her own instincts.
Her friends and family keep telling her to leave her brother's death in the past and move on with her life but her heart is set on finding the truth. After a lot of digging in the right places, threats on her life are getting more frequent and she's starts to think it might the right thing to take a step back but then, more truths will come to her doorstep to find her.

What a disappointment!
I was supposed to be thrilled by the suspense part. Instead, I was so fed up with the whole thing that I didn't care if Nikki got herself into danger or whatever! The story seemed irrational to me.
The more I read, the less I liked her! I began to get annoyed with her indecision. One minute she melted into Xavier's embrace, the next she told him to leave her alone. Please stop running hot and cold, woman!
In spite of the fact that I was somewhat disappointed with this book, I still want to know the conclusion of the story.
So, let's get it over and done with!!! Off to book 3!

WANTED: Roxy Sloane
CHARGES: Leaving Jen with a gigantic cliffy!
REWARD: Lots of dirty quotes from The Scene 2 because holy fuck I am in love with Xavier and his dirty, mysterious ways!
Picking up a serial from Roxy Sloane is like guaranteeing yourself a left handed good time. That applies to The Scene but in this case everything is surrounded in mystery. A sexy, delicious, possibly dangerous mystery. Each chapter is either dirty fucking hot or making me wonder WTF is going on and who the hell the bad guy is. It’s a roller coaster in the best possible way.
Nicole is in way over her head. I’m not sure she’s making smart choices but when she’s around Xavier, her brain starts short circuiting and lust takes over. Xavier is a sexy mystery... always leaving you needing a little bit more. His personality commands your attention and his charm leaves you swooning. I'm not sure my panties can survive more Xavier but I desperately want it.
And let me just tell you … there’s a shower scene that follows another scene that holy freaking crap made my heart race. It may have been one of the hottest things I’ve ever read! I am DYING for part 3 already!

The second installment of this fiery hot series is an angsty little bugger. While Nikki and Xavier continue to light Miami on fire with every touch, Nikki carries around bags of emotional ice that she has at the ready, prepared to kill every mood. Nikki isn’t sure what to believe about Xavier…but she also doesn’t ask him. *smh*
Nikki also carries around a ‘jump to conclusions’ mat everywhere she goes. With the least bit of evidence she has already decided that Xavier is a likely a Drug King and killed her brother. EXCUSEY WHAT?! I could have killed her. Hailey gets big high fives from me for being the voice of reason, forcing Nikki to word vomit her weak rationale and pointing out that maybe, just maybe things are what they seem and not what Nikki is making up. In her head. All the points to Hailey!
Xavier is once again a delicious specimen of a man who has (so far) done nothing to make me question his fuckability or desirability as my current book boyfriend. He finger fucks like it’s his job (OH. MAYBE THAT’S WHAT HE DOES FOR A LIVING!) and can incite a stampede of women in heels and short dresses everywhere he goes. He also sends the most fantastic gifts. Nikki, darling, I refuse to question his career aspirations and am more than happy to take him off your hands…
There’s so much sexual tension in this book in addition to the angst that I’m really happy that my kindle doesn’t also double as an etch-a-sketch. I hope you’re in the mood for hard, rough and filthy fucking, because this installment grants you access to one of the dirtiest and hottest sex scenes I’ve read in a long time. THANK YOU, ROXY!
Overall, Part 2 of The Scene gets you all riled up and leaves you (of course) WANTING MORE. book3!book3!

Can I give more than FIVE stars!!!
I have like, love each of Roxy stories, some more than others but The Scene has to be one of the most enjoyable, intriguing plot that I have read from her.
All the mystery surrounding Nikki and Xavier is nail biting good. All the twist and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat, I usually read laying on my bed but at the end of this book I was sitting and clutching my pillow dreading the end and wanting to know more and more about this mystery.
Excellent work Ms. Sloane, this may be your best work yet.

AHHHH! It's coming people! I just know the end of this series is going to be EXPLOSIVE! We are one step closer. I want it to get here, but on the other hand, I want to slow down because I don't want this to end! Seductive, enticing, ridiculously sexy, just an all around YUMMY YUMMY read! I can't get enough of Sloane's writing. It just pulls you in and never lets go. You are STILL thinking about her stories long after you reach the end. It is just page after page of steamy goodness mixed with mystery and intrigue that keeps you on your toes.
The pull between Nicole and Xavier is stronger than ever. The harder Nicole tries to stay away, the harder Xavier sucks her back in. She's at the point of trying to decide to listen to her head or listen to her heart. She thinks she has the answers right in front of her, but there is still that small piece of her that can't believe, or can't accept the truth. Nicole is digging herself deeper and deeper into this dangerous world. She is in lust with the enemy. When it comes down to it, will Nicole really be able to take Xavier down or will her cravings for him prevent her from finding out what really happened to her brother?
And the plot thickens...

Roxy kept the temperature scorching hot in this second book of the series. Xavier and Nicole have incredible chemistry that refuses to be denied. Regardless of the fears she has about who he really is, her body won't let her stay away. The fact that his actions seem to say that he truly cares only makes it harder for her to think rationally about the predicament she's gotten herself in.
With the cops being of no help, and maybe even a threat to her, she's still no closer to discovering what happened to her brother. When she's approached by a federal agent who wants to use her to get close to and possibly betray Xavier she doesn't know what to think or do. He says he knows what happened to her brother but is he trustworthy? She's still not sure if Xavier is even involved, and if he is she knows she isn't safe around him. It's confusing for us readers too. I don't know what to think! There are some times I think he's acting suspiciously and must be guilty of something, but then with the way he's been pursuing Nicole and the sweet things he says and does it's hard to believe an evil man could cover it up that easily.
We're left hanging, still not knowing who's good and who's not...suspicious of everyone and worried about Nicole's safety. She's not a very slick private detective; every time she tries digging into her brother's murder I can't stop thinking how stupid she's being. Someone is bound to find out she's snooping, whether it's Xavier or not, and they may just decide to do the same to her as they did her brother!!

Roxy Sloane does a great job of illustrating Nikki's conflicting feelings. She's questioning all of the circumstantial evidence that she's found and each conversation she's had with those who know about the case or knew who her brother was, which only complicates things further because while she can't deny that intellectually everything seems to be pointing to one person, her body still yearns for him and can't give him up.
The storyline in Part Two is incredibly complex, deliberately forcing Nikki and readers to make assumptions that seem obvious based on her findings, but like any good suspense story, things that seem certain are anything but, and I feel like that is the case here, but then more clues are uncovered that change my mind again.
What is clear is that Nikki is playing a dangerous game, putting herself on the line to prove her brother was murdered, which could end up costing her, her life.
I'm hoping in the final part of Roxy Sloane's The Scene that the answers that are revealed fit my theory because it will destroy any hope that Nikki has on moving forward if they don't.
Roxy Sloane is a masterful serial writer because she keeps readers guessing throughout the series and takes them on one hell of a steamy and suspenseful ride until the very end.

Dammit! She did it again! Just as I was getting sucked in, the ending came too fast.
The Scene, Part Two is the second installment of this sexy, suspenseful serial from Ms. Sloane. It picked up right where the first one left off. Nikki is having a hard time figuring out who to trust while she continues to try and find answers about her brother’s death.

Omg the cliffhangers are killing me. I need answers!!! Another fast paced read with some sexy scenes. I cannot wait to get to the bottom of this.

I’d like to start off first by saying, OMG THAT ENDING!!!! Second, I love how Roxy’s stories always have more than just hot, kinky, dirty, raw, panty melting, orgasm self induced, on top of cars or in the water type of sex. There is so much more. There is always a mystery or suspense!! Sometimes these type of books are just sex. Which is ok. Nothing wrong with that, haha. But sometimes I like books that make you think. Books that get your heart pounding in a different type of way. The constant “who done it?” The suspense! And when I want something like that, I go to Roxy Sloane. Because she brings ALL THE THINGS!!
As in part 1, I simply couldn’t get enough with this book! It was filled with all the sexy goodness. And a certain shower scene that had me wanting to jump in and join. Or watch. Anything. Because God. That was one of the best shower scenes ever!! But poor Nikki is still torn on if Xavier is the bad guy or the good guy. At this point I don’t think I would even care. For real! Some new things are discovered surrounding the death of her brother, Eli. More questionable characters are introduced. It’s like a big ole conspiracy that has my theories all over the place!! I need answers!!!! At one point I thought I had a pretty solid theory, but nope! Cause this person was killed off! So now, I’m back to square one. I need answers, Roxy!!!!

Roxy definitely knows how to keep you hanging with her shocking endings! Her mini novella series read like you are watching your favorite television show that ends on a cliffhanger and then you have to wait till after they come back from hiatus to find out the conclusion! And that's exactly what she did here in part 2! Nikki is trying to stay away from Xavier cause all these clues keep leading her to believe that he is El Jefe, the one supposedly responsible for her brother Eli's death. Is Xavier a good bad boy or a bad bad boy? But as much as she fears him, she cannot resist his charm and dirty mouth. I know I couldn't. ;-) It's also hard to know what's real when it seems like Xavier really does care about Nikki, but there's something hidden within him as well. And just as Nikki had suspected, things with her brothers "accidental" death do not add up and when she goes to the authorities about her findings, she learns that they too cannot be trusted. Enter a federal agent who was supposedly working with her brother to bring down El Jefe and now wanting her help, but is this just another ploy perhaps? The one question that still remains is, who can she trust? And after that cliffhanger, it definitely is not Xavier. Gah! Need the last book STAT Roxy!

Roxy definitely knows how to deliver a suspenseful and dramatic cliffhanger. You literally feel as if you're living straight through all ten drama that is surrounding Nikki and Xavier you find yourself questioning WTH is truly rea!?!
Nikki has so many inner struggles and doesn't know what to believe anymore there are so many clues that lead her to believe Xavier is the main Boss responsible for her brothers Eli's death. Is he truly a sexy deceiving bad boy? He literally knows how to charm a girl she is enamored with him and can't resist his sinful sexy charm. Xavier seems to truly portray sincere emotions for Nikki, but he is so intimidating and dominating you can't help but feel like there is hidden meaning in his actions. He makes it so difficult to stay away from but Nikki must for the sake of finding out the truth about her brothers death. Will Xavier ultimately be the savior and help her figure out what really happened and be the man she wants him to be or will he end up hurting her and is only keeping hidden agenda and more deception? Who can she really trust? I can't wait to find out what will happen next I'm at the edge of my seat anxiously awaiting answers to so many questions surrounding this absolutely stunning mystery.

A Great Quick Suspenseful Read
I absolutely LOVE this book, part one was great too but this one is even better. I am completely hooked on this series. The Author is simply so talented and amazing, her writing will just suck you in! It is chock full of suspense and mystery, intrigue, sexiness and excitement. I couldn't put it down and read it straight through rushing to turn page after page despite wanting to savor it. It is so gripping, I was just pulled along deep in the story. If anyone spoke to me during the read I have no recollection of it. The complexity and intensity of the story held me deep within the pages. I can not wait to read the next installment! I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review.

Whaoo! This story takes a suspenseful turn. Nicole's attraction to Xavier heats up but so does her suspicion. Xavier has hidden secrets and Nicole has not been able to crack them. Nicole is provided more information about her brother's death and confirms her beliefs. It becomes apparent to Nicole that she needs to stop her pursuit of the truth about her brother's death and get away from the one person who could be putting her in greater danger. Or is he? Things get real!
I can't wait for the conclusion, I need answers. Roxy Sloane knows how to keeps us on our toes and this story does not fail. If you're looking for heat and fiction you've come to the right scene!

Part Two picks up right where Part One left off and Nikki is still battling internally over Xavier, she's falling for him and falling hard. But she also can't let go of her motivation for coming to Miami and the fact that Xavier just might be the one responsible for it.
I can't wait for the next installment to finally find out exactly what did happen to Nikki's brother and what, if anything Xavier had to do with it.

This series is HOT!
Where do I even begin? Xavier just gets more mysterious and sexy with each book. He is an enigma and I love that about him! Nicole is so confused, but it's understandable why. The sex and chemistry between these two is off the charts! I can't wait to dive into book 3! How will it end? Who is Xavier? I need to know now!

And the plot thickens. Is Xavier bad. Is Nicole being misinformed. Who is right and who is wrong!! So many questions but only one conclusion. The chemistry between these two is steamy hot!!! Roxy Sloane has a way of drawing you in with a story that twists and turns to the point where all you can do is consume her books.

Okay so I liked this book better than the first purely because of Xavier. In this story he seemed less like a rich douche plus we got to know more about his past. Nikki got on my nerves. She had a TSTL (talking to the cops? really?) moment that just about killed me. Not to mention her burning hot and cold. One minute she's giving Xavier the ride of his life, the next she disappears and wants him to leave her alone. I kept thinking Xavier deserved better. Hope the final book ends on a good note.

Bueno, este fue más un libro de poner en contexto, de encausar la cosa, Nikki parece realmente una veleta, que si que no, que tal vez, aun no sabe que hacer con respecto a sus sospechas sobre Xavier, pero además aparece este agende de la DEA para acabar de confundir su mente, y finalmente un hecho definitivo la impulsa a dar el salto, pero , estará haciendo lo correcto, lo leeré en el siguiente.
