My name is Liam Wyatt, and my brother, Oliver, and I are the founders and owners of Wyatt Enterprises. He had found love and I was still trying. After dating a countless number of women throughout the years, I was ready to have a real relationship with the possibility of settling down. I could have any woman I wanted. So what’s the problem, you ask? I didn’t want just any woman; I wanted The One. Unfortunately, I still hadn’t found her—but then, Avery Lewis walked into my life and turned my world upside down. She was everything I wanted in a woman, all wrapped up in a beautiful and breathtaking package. The problem was, she didn’t want a relationship. She had built a wall around her and I was going to do everything I could to break through that wall and make her a permanent part of my life.
My name is Avery Lewis and I moved to New York when I landed a job at Finley, Muir, & Abernathy, one of the most influential law firms in the country. I moved from Danbury, Connecticut when an office romance went bad and I wanted to start my life over, focusing on my career and my career only. Men were off limits. A girl could only take so much heartbreak in a lifetime. Then Liam Wyatt walked into my life and turned my world upside down. He was a man who could have any woman in the world, yet he wanted me. Sexy, smart, and a genuinely a nice guy wasn’t enough for me to let my half glass/half stone wall I built around me down. The problem was that I was falling for him on such a deep level that it scared me. Between my past and my daddy issues, the poor guy didn’t stand a chance. He was determined to make me a part of his life and I was determined to run.
Writing is my passion and my mission is to provide readers with romance novels that will whisk them away into another world and from the daily grind of life - one book at a time.
This is interesting. Usually the male is doing the whoring. But this time its the female doing the whoring. Its is a fresh switch role.
Avery had a bunch of rejection in love department. Finally fed up with the rejection, she swore off relationship and do one night stand. It was fine until she met Liam. Now Liam is a different kind of hero. He is sweet, sexy and.... sensitive. So sensitive that during his free time, he is doing remodeling of his house. Oh my ovaries! Liam instantly fell in love with Avery. He wants to have relationship with Avery. But Aver wants to run away from him.
Again like previous Sandy Lynn's books, I still feel the wording can be chosen and edited better. Nevertheless, I still enjoy this book.
I am really surprised how much I loved this one! I say that only because I rarely rate a book with an erotica genre five stars. Liam's and Avery's story is just so good. I love that Avery is a lawyer so you know she's smart, but that doesn't always equate to wise. And Liam is just the type of man every woman would love. He's hot and sexy, caring, sensitive, kind and romantic. Avery is rather commitment shy but she has reason to be. Liam, however, is just the guy to bring her out of her relationship commitment funk.
While I enjoyed book one for the cheesy, easy reading romance that it was, I’ll admit that book two of the Wyatt brothers series annoyed me considerably more.
On the plus side, it delivered on some pretty raunchy sex, hot millionaires, with enough reference to Oliver and Delilah’s story to please their fans. It was another quick read, that hit all the time honoured romance tropes and beats.
But little things started to bug me fairly early on – character inconsistencies, bad descriptions and writing tics – and they stood out more and more as the story went on.
For starters, is the phrase ‘I smashed my mouth against his’ ever romantic? It sounds painful to me. I know it’s trying to evoke a sort of desperate passion, but in the context it was used in for this story (and it was used several times) the levels of desperation weren’t high enough to warrant the ‘smashed’. Also, both Liam and Avery used the description – their voices had little differentiation at all.
There were a lot of sentences that used the same words in close proximity – the sort of thing that a proof read ought to have eliminated. It just sounded clumsy, again taking me out of the story.
Then there was the bigger stuff – like Avery declaring herself a great judge of character, whilst her entire backstory is about people taking advantage of her, and her giving her heart to people who won’t return her love. Or when she said ‘I don’t care about my father’ before spending the whole book being deeply angry about her father. A few times I found myself pulling a face and thinking ‘that flatly contradicts something you said two chapters ago.’
I don’t know why this bothered me more in this book than it did in the previous one. Because I don’t doubt for a second that all these problems exist in book 1. I guess the story of book 1 was strong enough to make all these flaws ignorable, but book 2 just didn’t carry me along as well. Not terrible, but not the greatest.
Kept waiting for the angst and possible treachery that never quite happened. It was okay. Just could have been much better with a bit more of a storyline.
I fell inlove with Liam from the first book. I was so excited to start it but really sad that he met someone so closed of. Not that I can blame her. In the end it all worked out with a beautiful HEA. It was also awesome getting to see Oliver and Delilah.
I don't know if I was in love with Liam himself as a character or with the male narrator's voice... Anyways, I LIKED the second book more than the first one. I enjoyed Liam and Avery's love story I just wished fewer sexual parts... It was a good book but in my opinion, it could have been better.
Cute read...again, not the best but not the worst. The saving grace of this book was Liam. He was absolutely adorable. He was so ready to stop dating and just meet someone who he could really fall in love with. He was just a genuinely great character. His love for his brother, siser-in law and neice was just beautiful. Avery got on my nerves. Yes I know she had Daddy issues and yes I know she had been burned in the past, but that didn't excuse her behavior of always calling Liam a manwhore and bashing him for dating around. And what I also didn't like, is in the beginning of the book she yells at him for "leading a girl on" by making it seem like he was going to call her. So he manned up and told the girl he wasn't going to continue to see her. Then when Liam and Avery started a sexual relationship, she did the same thing to him. Saying...oh, im busy, ill call you when im free. She pulled the same shit she was judging him for earlier. I just found her a complete hypocrite and really just unlikable in my eyes.
I noticed in her book she waste a lot time on detail that doesn't matter. Like how Avery remember high school stuff in the past and she go into detail about it. It's so annoying because when it come to adding detail about her relationship with Liam and how they became stronger she rush at towards the end of the book which is lame. Like I spend so much time reading about this and that and when I finally get to the good stuff you rush me thru it. Liam is a great guy who open to love and want to find the one. Avery is a smart girl who has issues with relationships. He chase her but she just keep pushing away. You know how the story goes and end.
I loved the first Wyatt Brothers book that I had to read the second book right away. And I loved Liam’s book just as much as I loved his brother Oliver’s book. I loved that the roles were reversed and it was the woman Avery who had a fear of commitment and getting close to the guy Liam. I’m a big softy for a man that wanted to be married, have a family and take care of them in the best ways. I love that Liam had the support of his brother and sister in law, and Avery had the support of her two moms. The story was perfect
I have nothing bad to say about this book I really enjoyed it and the only complaint I can say I have is that I really want to read more of the Wyatt brothers and hope to read more soon.....if you have read all of Sandi Lynn's books like I have than you will see a lot of characters from her other books and that was fun....This is definitely a must read I just love all of Sandi Lynn's books....
You have done it again Sandi Lynn had me hooked from first page until the last. I don't know how many of your book men I'm going to fall in love with but at the moment it is all of them. Liam and Avery are truly amazing characters and thank you for bringing them into your books can't wait for your next book to come out. Keep up the good work.
DNF @ 75% I know, why not just finish it? BUT i just could not. This book fell flat for me due to the cookie cutter plot line of the reformed manwhore finally falling for the unnattainable girl who is too scared to fall due to her past broken hearts. Not enough angst and the flow was just boring. 2.5 *sigh*ho hum* stars
With Sandi Lynn you always know you're in for a quick, steamy, enjoyable albeit slightly predictable read. This was no different, although I appreciated the role reversal. Here it's the heroine who's the commitment phobe and the Hero is the one who wants the relationship. Her books are usually a steady 3-3.5 read and works perfectly as a filler between or after some heavy ones.
4-4.5 STARS. I really enjoyed the storyline, and there was a good amount of steam too ;) I would have 5 STAR'd the book if it had a longer ending.. Or an epilogue
Team Liam!!! Yes he's my new book boyfriend. Sandi Lynn's characters are swoon worthy and compassionate. You can't help but be all around satisfied. With this book.
I want more! Lol! I am so in love with Liam Wyatt. I have to admit in the beginning I didn't like Avery very much. She may have a high IQ and be one hell of a lawyer but she's not to bright in the relationship department. Liam is this gorgeous, sweet, sensitive, sexy as f**k man that is looking for someone to love and share his life with. Then there's Avery she's this beautiful, smart, sexy woman but has some serious commitment issues. I can kinda understand why but, come on, this putting up a wall is bullshit. There comes a time when you have to just let it all go and jump and in my opinion it takes her too long to realize that Liam is the kind of guy you take that chance with. When Avery come face to face with her father for the first time after all those years I was so ecstatic when she kicked his ass in the law suit for Oliver and Liam. Then when she decides to finally confront John and tears him a new one for abandoning her when she was a kid I was actually proud of her and it was the beginning of her healing. The chemistry between Liam and Avery is so freakin HOT I thought my Kindle was gonna catch on fire. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
I enjoyed Oliver's story but I have to say i really liked Liam's personality!!! He was a man on a mission for love. He was tired of not having love in his life and was not going to settle just to be with someone!!! So his story begins starting with a new home that he can start over in and hopes that he will find love and someone he can not live without. When he meets someone she treats him like a one night stand and he was in shock so Much so that she reminded him of Oliver and the way he lived his bachelor life. As he pursues her he can't seem to change her way of thinking. He was sweet and kind and tried to show her but she wouldn't bend. Read and see if Oliver can show some light her way and help his brother get this woman who he fell so hard for. A quick read with tender love making and true affection.
I’m obsess with the character in this book! I loved Avery the second she did a frustrated dance and stomped her foot on the ground like a kid after hearing that her moving boxes won’t be delivered when they were supposed to be😭 I couldn’t wait to read Liam’s book, because I love his character so much. He’s so carefree and easy going, and it’s refreshing. I wish there could be a 3rd book that can continue Avery and Liam’s story, I love them together. This book was funny and really cute and it’s a “fate at its finest” type of story this is definitely a book I would recommend!
Now it’s Liam’s turn. You don’t have to read about Oliver first, but I would highly recommend you do.
Liam is looking for The One, and now that Oliver has found his forever, Liam finds himself jealous and wants that also.
Avery has been burned so many times throughout her life and the last thing she wants is a relationship.
Soon, Liam and Avery meet and they have an instant connection. As time goes by, Liam is in love but Avery wants nothing to do with the L word. Or does she?
Very good read. I’ve been hoping for Liam to find love since the beginning of Oliver’s book. Both books are fun, entertaining and full of steam.
Liam is Oliver’s brother from book 1. So glad Liam got his happy ending. Wish it was easier for him but nevertheless.
Avery, I almost did not like her! Thankfully she woke up and realised Liam was one of the good ones.
Liam was too good for Avery, he was wonderful with little Sophie and loved his family so much.
Really liked how it had little snippets of other characters from Sandi’s other books. Luke & Lilly from Love in between, Cameron & Sierra from Then you happened and Colin from the Black family. Makes me want to read there stories all over again.

Liam Wyatt is intrigued by the woman at the gym, who told him off when he brushed off another woman whom he had dated. Imagine his surprise when he discovers that she is the new associate attorney ate the firm who represents his company! Avery is anti-men and anti-relationship...she has daddy issues & an ex to blame for that position. She is attracted to Liam but refuses to let anyone pass ‘the wall’ that she’s erected around her heart. Can Liam get over that wall and let Avery feel what it’s like to be loved? Will this couple have an HEA?
“I know all there is to know about men. They’re users, liars, and cheaters. We’re nothing but their puppets and they’re the puppeteers, manipulating us to get what they want, and then BAM!”
Another great read by Sandi Lynn. Liam finally meets his match but she is fiercely determined to stay single and not let anyone break down her walls. She’s strong, independent (yet insecure in the love department), witty, workaholic and in new territory....Wyatt territory. Will she make it out with her heart intact?
“I was swimming in dangerous territory as the wall I built around me started to perish.”
This was a great book. It kept me reading until I finished it. I love the story line, I think everyone can relate to having issues with relationships going the wrong way and building up walls. I cried towards the end. When Avery finally tells Liam that she loves him and let's the walls down. The first book was also great. The books didn't drag on, they both flowed along making it a great read. This is the first time I read this author and can't wait to read the rest of her books.
The guys was a creep in the beginning, couldn't take a hint that she did not want to tell him where she worked or where she lived?? For all the guys out there who think this is ok, it's not! When a girl gives you 'Im not interested' vibes, politely turns you down you don't then corner her at her workplace to ask for a date and you don't continue being a creep by asking where she lives!! And then he had the gall to think "In fact she looked uncomfortable" Uh no s*it!! Men please stop doing that it's not attractive or ok!
I really enjoyed this series. I appreciate how all of the authors books explains the struggles we experience in life. As always I appreciate the fact that it is written from the main characters POV. The writing was impeccable, funny, steamy, and very easy to read. Sandi is a very good author, she stories are sometimes cheesy but definitely hilarious and well thought out.
Good story. Both Avery and Liam had set attitudes toward relationships. Avery was determined to keep Liam at arms length despite him being a sweet, caring, supportive guy. She had all the qualities you’d expect in a good woman and one Liam deserved, but he first had to win her trust and that is what their story is about.
This is the second book in this series of Avery and Liam. I enjoyed the story line, plenty of sex scenes, the sexual tension, and the characters in this book. It was nice to see Liam find someone for him and for Avery to finally let that walk down. This was a great reads.
One stubborn girl who desperately wants to be loved but is scared to let the wall down. A loveable man who wants nothing more then to break it down. Liam and averys story is one who has ever been hurt can relate to. Sometimes you have to just let go and fall.
