Love. It's a simple word with a lot of meaning. We talk about how we love cheeseburgers but we also love our family. We might say that we love a day at the beach, but we also love our children. What does love mean? How can it be defined?

First Love Letter was written to accompany a sermon series preached at Stone's Throw Church in Middletown, Delaware. We decided to preach through this particular book of the Bible as we desired to encourage and exhort the congregation toward loving God and loving one another just as John encourages and exhorts the early church to discover what it means to be loved by God.

In this book we discuss each section of John's letter as we relate the message to every day life. It is our goal that this book and the discussion questions would help churches grow in their love of one another as their love for God continues to grow.
