Ten days ago, someone threw a brick through my front window. Nine days ago, someone keyed my truck right in my driveway. Eight days ago, someone spray painted the words ‘stay away’ across my garage door. That one really pissed me off. The jerk didn’t even have the courtesy to tell me what the hell I need to stay away from.

Each day it’s something new, a new piece of my property vandalized, and I’ve had enough.

Wanting a security system, something with cameras so I can catch the vandal, I let my best friend hook me up with her cousin, a private investigator with the PRG Investigations team.

His name is Vance and I’ve secretly been in love with him for three years. He’s a badass, a little scary, incredibly hot, and he’s never showed an interest in me … until now.

Received a copy of the title from author in exchange for an honest review; original posting of review can be found at mignon mykel : reviews || PLAY IT AGAIN .

When I first saw the title, it kind of went with the whole 'game' theme I had going on in my head. Book one was TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE, so that's why my head went with the game.

It did not occur to me the scene in TWO TRUTHS were Piper jumps up and yells "Play it again!", but when I read that scene, again, but through Vance and Piper's eyes (um... yes, when I read the end of the book before the beginning of the book....) I thought about Luke Bryan's song (which is obviously where the whole idea came from).

...and when Piper was dancing freely at the bar and yelled for the song to be played again, and Vance, more in love with her in that moment than he had been before (not that he was fancying himself in love at that time, of course), begs for the song to be played again -- at that point, the song went on repeat in my mind.

And now every time I so much as look at the cover, the song starts to play. Again. And again. So dance on, Piper, dance on. And smile, because your boy loves your smile.

Anyway.

If you read TWO TRUTHS (which is not necessary), this book actually takes place during the break between Jase and Elena -- where Elena went back home. It was a) comical to read Vance's point of view through this (especially the truck conversation), and b) fun to see that PRG actually does do more than one case at a time -- and Ashley manages to line the stories up just right so it doesn't feel like the boys are overworked in the least bit.

Again, if you read TWO TRUTHS, you may have felt that the end of that book was where the beginning of this one would be -- after all, the boys do introduce Piper to Elena as a "new case" and Elena figures there's going to be more to it than that -- when in truth, Vance is so far gone with Piper at that moment, it's not funny.

Then again... Vance has been so far gone over that girl for a while -- something that Piper surprisingly never picked up on. She just assumed his need to stop by and fix something at her and Kim's apartment (his cousin) was more or less for something to do, not so he could check out his cousin's freckled roomie.

When Piper becomes the victim of a stalker, Vance comes to the rescue -- but he's a little bit pissed at her for waiting 6 months to get her new place up to security standards (at least, standards in his book). He knows damn well he's in her phone book and what name he's under -- which he announces to the room, making me love Wes so much more, again.

He hooks Piper up with the works (security works, people), and when the alarms are tripped, he rushes to her rescue --

...yes, he has her monitors on his phone, and her key on his ring (but hey, all the PRG guys have it...).

Part of the reason why Vance hasn't acted on his desires sooner was, first, she was in a committed relationship, but when they broke things off, she was always nervous around Vance -- so he gave her her space. But he can't help but be drawn to her.

I truly enjoyed Vance and Piper's book. I love that the cover is straight out of the book (I really like this cover, too....), and Ashley managed to make a great story with a good song. I didn't know much about Vance coming into PLAY IT AGAIN -- when I read TWO TRUTHS, Wes was the secondary character that popped out for me and I was a bit sad to find out that Wes's book wasn't going to be number two in the series. But my goodness, did I fall for this man. He's a good guy -- he's caring, he's protective, and he loves Piper something fierce. He cares about what Piper thinks and he understands what her insecurities are going to be and plans for them -- before they truly happen (like a dinner date that needs to be canceled).

Beyond the romance (which was spot-on), the suspense aspect of the story hit every point, too. The stalker mishap doesn't stop just because Piper gets a fancy new security system and a protective boyfriend.

I loved every moment of this book -- and my secondary, Wes, still made my heart smile again and again. As I said in my last PRG review: I have to say, Wes's reactions certainly managed most of my laughs. Still true. Still so very true.

And thank goodness, his book is next and it sounds phenomenal! I'm excited to meet this Sarah character... However -- I liked the few Jacob Cruz parts too. I think he should jump on board the book train...

5 “So Damn Pretty” Stars!
Exciting and Clever. Another Great Read from Ashley Stoyanoff!

The Review:
Play It Again is the second book in the PRG Investigations series, and though it can be read as a stand alone, you really need to read the first book so you can get all the insights into the three hotties that make up the PRG team. Plus, the first book was just a great read!

This book features Vance who we met in book one. Right from the start, I knew Vance was going to be a favorite and I wasn’t wrong. He stands out in an exceptional way with his patience, his caring and his vulnerability. I couldn’t get enough of him!

Piper is having some trouble. For the past two weeks, someone has been vandalizing her home in different ways, leaving an unexpected and unwanted surprise each day. It’s obvious she has an enemy but she just can’t seem to get the cops interested enough to take lead on the situation, so her bestie Kim, calls in her cousin, Vance, from PRG Investigations. Piper has knows Vance for years, since her and Kim roomed together at college. But Piper’s shyness and introvert-ness has kept him at arm's length. Now she has to trust him to keep her safe.

Vance has kept an eye on Piper for years, under the pretense of coming to his cousin’s aid whenever something would break in her apartment that she shared with Piper. He never made a move on Piper because he could sense her hesitation towards him, but now she needs him and he sees an opening he just can’t resist.

This book had a great mystery surrounding the happenings at Piper’s expense. I was kept in delightful suspense, waiting to see what would happen next and the author did a fabulous job giving us clues but never letting on too early what was really happening. I loved it. Usually, I can guess these things quickly. I enjoyed the not knowing. It was refreshing and intense.

Piper and Vance had great chemistry and their interactions were funny, romantic, sweet, energetic and steamy sexy! Piper was a solid heroine and she wasn’t apt to just sit back and let the men take care of things. She got involved and I enjoyed her strength and tenacity. Vance was a total hottie! I loved his alpha tendencies but I also loved his vulnerability as he navigated Pipers defenses and broke through her walls with care and tenderness, all the while fearful of her rejection. These two were just amazing together.

I also enjoyed the recurring characters and how it all tied in together with the first book. The next book will feature Wes, the third partner in their team. And with the ending of book two marking the beginnings of book three, I can’t wait to see how funny and carefree Wes deals with all the emotional baggage his past love running into him will cause. It’s going to be so exciting!

Vance doesn't really like anyone next to his woman that might be harmful, he's quite the protective boy, "I cut him a sideways look. “Someone’s at Piper’s house and this goddamn feed is taking forever to load.” He's a sweet guy he's always concerned about his woman, “you’re sick,” he says incredulously , his dark eyes piercing into me. “Really sick. This is exactly where I should be.” There are times Vance has to make things clear to his woman, “you’re my girl and I take care of what’s mine, so I’m not seeing what isn’t good about you staying here.” I enjoy this series the men have a close knit relationship and when they fall for their women they fall hard.

FOUR AND ONE HALF STARS! Play It Again was the perfect second book for the PRG Investigations series. The pace of the story is spot on and kept me turning pages. While I realized quickly who the vandal was, it was still a suspenseful, exciting read. Vance is everything I adore in a main male character and Piper is FABULOUS! I loved her grit and backbone!

Play It Again is the perfect book if you're looking for a story with a little angst and a lot of emotion. I'm totally stoked for the next book in this series release!

Soooooo good!

I will admit that I had an attachment to Jase and Elena's story and was skeptical that Vance's would be just as good. Ashley had written another outstanding story and I loved every word! Vance and Piper have known each other for years and now Piper has a stalker that Vance takes on. The dynamics between the two are great. I love how Ashley writes alpha males that are softies for the women they love. Great story!

I received an ARC of this OH SO AMAZING book from the author in exchange for an honest review. And it is honest.

I love Ashley's writing. She is just amazing. Her writing style is pulling you in straight away. The worlds she is creating are captivating. Characters are so real that you are falling in love with them from the first few sentences.

Play it Again is a second part in her PRG Investigations series and just like the first one, is just simply AMAZING.

In here we meet again Vance. One of the trio that in the previous book was more quiet than the other two. And we meet Piper. Quiet girl, who is a book covers designer. But even though she is trying to keep it to herself, be friendly to anyone, she is having some troubles. Someone is vandalizing her property and after almost 2 weeks that person is starting to scare her. So after her best friend arranges a meeting with her cousin and his friends, who are private investigators, her life is changed. And not because she suddenly met that handsome detective. No. She already knew him. She already fell for him. She liked him a bit more than others. But because feels the same and he will do anything to ensure she is safe.

Vance, God he is so hot, made sure that Piper is safe for few years now. At the beginning he was excusing himself for his affection towards her, with her being room-mate of his cousin. But during those few years his feelings got more serious and deep, but Piper has always had someone and always treated him with distance. He thought that it was because he wasn't her type, but the truth was she was just shy. When his cousin described the troubles that Piper has, he didn't miss a chance and made sure she is safe.

Vance and Piper are a perfect match. The chemistry, the sparks that are basically flying between them are just awesome. In this book you have drama, suspense, love, friendship and lots and lots of humour! That's why I love this book so much!

The suspense of not knowing who the culprit is might this book even more delightful. The truth made my jaw drop.

Awesome, amazing fat 5 stars!

keep the coming Ashley! <3

Again Ashley Stoyanoff delivers a sexy and exhilarating story about to strong characters. This book is about Vance, one of the PRG investigators who makes it his mission to protect Piper. He's known her for a few years, but decided to keep his hands off because she's his cousin's bestie. When Piper needs assistance and protection from a crazy stalker, Vance is more than willing to step in and help!

Piper had been crushing on Vance for 3 years, but opted to keep her feelings to herself....well and to Kim. Situations continue to escalate as Piper realizes that someone is out to cause her harm. During this time Vance and Piper's relationship develops into more than "protector".

What I love about this story is that although the book is focused on Piper and Vance's relationship, the secondary characters also play important roles in telling the tale. Each of them with their own personalities which make this book fun. I love how Ashley incorporated the end of Two Truths and a Lie and added the scene to PIA. It brought back to memory how a lot of things were happening simultaneously

I enjoyed this book. I patiently waited to receive a copy because I believe the author writes in a way that makes you believe everything she's saying. The characters are "real" and you will often find yourself laughing out loud a lot especially with all the "staring". LOL.

BOOK 2 of PRG Investigations is a MUST READ!!!.

Once again Stoyanoff puts pen to paper to create a novel that I simply couldn’t ignore. The vibrant world that she has created was the perfect setting for the entertaining story that she’s created. She melds budding romance with suspense and mystery in a natural yet endlessly exciting manner. The well written narrative brings everything to life in an easygoing manner that really lets the story shine through.

Piper and Vance are absolutely adorable together! I loved the way that they interacted with one another, without losing themselves in the process. The way in which they bring forward the realities of the NA genre without any over the top, whiny, will they, won’t they made them individuals that I want to know. These well-developed individuals really drew me into their lives. I loved seeing them on their own and surrounded by their friends in such unique ways, and. The way that the lives of all the PRG men intertwine in a myriad of ways was great, and honestly, I can’t wait to see what happens to Wes next.

This is a cute, sweet romance with a healthy dose of suspense. Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down.

Her comes bad ass hottie to the rescue. Who can it be, why are they targeting Piper. What will become of Piper and Vance. Will she finally get the nerve up to tell him how she feels about him. Pick up the book to find out.... It's definitely an enjoyable read. Looking forward to Wes's story.....

LOVE THIS!!! Piper & Vance have known each other for ages, but have sorta danced around each other, not really admitting their attraction for various reasons. Until Piper seems to have a stalker & she goes to Vance for help. This story is very well written - I love the awkwardness of their first few meetings while he's installing a security system for her, love their banter! The mystery and action surrounding her stalker was also well done and intriguing. And we get to see more of Jase & Elena & Wes, which was nice! Super excited for Wes's story next! : )

This is the story of Piper and Vance. Piper creates book covers, Vance is a private detective. Piper is being harrassed and threatened by someone and Vance is on the job to protect and defend. Piper knows Vance through his sister Kim who is best friend. Evolves into love that has been requited for 3 years. Is fast read and very good., Thanx to Goodreads and Ashley Stoyanoff. Please read.

A great second installment in this series. Vance and Piper have a great story. The storyline keeps you in, even if the romance is t your thing. But, the romance is good too. Just a reminder that love can be found when you aren't looking for it. Can't wait for Wes's story....

Someone has been vandalizing Piper's property for the past couple of weeks so she decides to put in a security system so the police can catch the culprit. She shares this with her best friend, Kim, who tells her cousin, Vance. Vance is an investigator with the PRG Investigation team and has always looked after Kim and her friend, Piper. He and the other PRG guys install a system in Piper's house, as well as upgrade all the locks. Things go way past vandalism when someone loosens the bolts on one of Piper's tires and it flies off. Luckily Vance was driving at the time but there were still injuries.

While Piper thinks it's just a vandal trying to get to her, Vance thinks she has a stalker and takes it much more seriously.

The characters are so well developed that I feel like I know them. Vance is a wonderfully dependable man who cares deeply for Piper - even though he never lets her know. He's very sensitive to other people's needs and always willing to jump in and help. Piper is a strong, independent woman but pretty quiet and shy. She thinks Vance doesn't even notice her so she also keeps her attraction to him a secret.

This was an awesome read! It’s full of romance, suspense, some erotic love scenes and on-the-edge-of-your-seat drama. I totally enjoyed reading this book. It draws you in from the beginning and keeps you there the whole way through the book to the end. Ashley Stoynoff’s polished writing really shines through in this unique tale, keeping me turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next.

If you like Romantic Suspense do yourself a favor and read Play It Again.

Play It Again was an easy and fun read with romance, suspense, action and some stalker issues all included. Vance and Piper were really cute together. I loved the two of them and their interaction with each other. Her awkwardness around him at first and then her feistiness made me like her and of course I could not help but love the "badass hottie" Vance. Their friends were all fun secondary characters and they all played important roles in adding to the story. This was an enjoyable read.

Disappointing 2.5 to 3 stars.

While this is the second book in this series it can easily be read as a standalone but for those who read the first book 'Two Truths and a Lie' this takes place while Elena is in New York for 4 weeks.
Piper has suffered through ten days of her property being vandalised and she's finally had enough so Vance, Wes and Jason from PRG Investigations are fitting a security system.
Piper and Vance have always been attracted to each other but neither has acted upon it until now.
I have to admit to being disappointed in this book especially after the previous one which I enjoyed.
What went wrong?
Firstly I felt it was a mistake to make it so obvious who the stalker was so very early on but then continue on as if we didn't know.
Piper is an intelligent, independent woman but even knowing someone is after her she makes a stupid mistake and I really hate it when women are portrayed as idiots with no sense of self preservation.
While I liked Piper and Vance most of the time we're not given any real background and I didn't feel any development or depth.
While I liked Wes and did intend to read his story I think I've changed my mind after this.

I generally don't like books written from the first person point of view, in fact I usually avoid them like the plague, but I'm glad I didn't miss out on this one. I think it helped that the author alternated between the hero and the heroine, so that it wasn't completely from one person's point of view.

I really enjoyed the story, and the interaction between the characters. I love that the story is part of a series but that I was able to pick up this second book and not feel lost because I haven't read the first.

I will be reading the other books in this series and checking out others by this author.

Pretty good

I liked this book and enjoyed reading it but something was missing. I felt as though the author was trying to hard to channel Kristen Ashley. Don't get me wrong. Any author who loves KA is starting off in a good place but every author needs to be her own person. In that, an author should show that in her writing. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here. Still, the series has promise if only the author would show her true talent .
