Beau has been cursed by the Mother, a traumatized witch dwelling in the Louisiana swamps.
She wants revenge.
Beau just wants to go home.
The tie between them forces him to face the darkest parts of his sinful soul as he fights a war against the essence of the Mother’s Rou-kin that has stolen his mind and body after devouring his soul.

What. a. read!!!
An amazing dark and spooky tale about Louisiana folklore. I loved cryptids and only heard of the Rougarou recently and have been facsinted by the creature, so this was an absolute delight to read. The book really doesn't hide from the gore and mental torment of what being a Lycan would be like and it just makes the book all the more suspenseful and very emotional, I found myself really feeling sympathetic for Beau throughout this despite the horrible things he does. Also the prose in this is fantastic, Marcey has such a talent with descriptive words.
Could not put this book down, definitely one of my fave reads of the year

I went into this book completely blind and boy was I thrown for a loop lol. This book is honestly a total vibe. It's a super creepy story about a guy named Beau who gets cursed by a swamp witch and basically has to fight for his life while losing his mind. It's got all the spooky, dark energy you want for a horror read and it moves so fast you won't want to put it down.
The whole "cursed in the bayou" thing is executed perfectly, and the way it balances the scares with the main character's struggle is just chefs kiss. If you're looking for something that's actually lowkey kinda creepy and keeps you hooked until the very end, this is definitely it.
10/10, would recommend to anyone who loves a good, twisted horror story. It's an easy read that hits hard, and it's easily one of the best spooky books I've picked up lately.

I was given this Audiobook for free in exchange for a review.
I loved that this was a really quick listen. Only took just under two hours. But even though it was a quick read, it felt really fleshed out.
The pacing was really good. It didn’t feel like it went too fast, which sounds odd given it’s a short book. But I liked the pacing of it and time passage. It was noted by days similarly to the title.
I enjoyed the main character and his descent into the plot. It was easy to keep up with. Never once did I think I got lost in the plot at all. The MC was easy to sympathize with, and honestly easy to like.
The narration was top tier! Very moving and emotive.
I really enjoyed the dive into the folklore of the bayou. This was my first venture into it, and I definitely think I’d be into reading it again!

Received this an ARC from the author. WOW, great folk horror novella. I love southern/Appalachian folklore and this had all that. The author did a fantastic job exploring the spiritual warfare inside Beau as he tries to fight the Rou kin and what is going on. The story telling is fantastic too with great plot pacing and explanation about the big witch & why she’s doing it for it being a novella. Definitely recommend reading this if you love folk horror and want a quick good read!!! Will definitely be buying a physical copy to keep in my shelf when able.

Excellent writing as always, it reminded of more intense Creepypasta, with that cryptid folklore. Very immersive and fast faced, not a dull moment to waste. As you follow Beau into his decent into madness. He’s been cursed by the witch of the swamp so she can get her sick twisted sense of revenge and all he wants is to be with his family. He struggles with his insanity and faith as he navigates the curse. Highly recommend

Absolutely gripping read. This is a story that will leave you staring at the walls for hours after. At no point in this story did I know what was going to happen next. 1000 stars. Highly recommend.

Perfect for anyone looking for a quick grim folk horror fix.
101 DAYS might be small, but it's mighty. This is a swampy-gothic-nightmare-fuel, full of folklore and gore. It's bleak. It's intense. And the real horror is watching the MC wage a losing war against his own mind. This whole story feels like a brutal and chaotic fever dream, and I'm absolutely here for it.

Marcey really has this amazing grasp on painting a picture, a movie in your head. I have yet to read a book by her that my brain movie stumbles.

I kept seeing Marceys TikTok’s for this book and I was sooo excited for this story so I took a chance and asked for an arc. I got it and loved every page! Her writing is amazing, so descriptive and paints the perfect picture in your head. I love when a book reads like a movie, so smooth in traditions and time jumps, and this book did just that! I loved it and now I’m off to read everything else she’s ever written 😁

This is the perfect quick read for horror fans. Marcey does a wonderful job blending thrills and chills, terror, and twists all in a highly entertaining story. The folklore theme was perfect as well.
