X-Men: Phoenix WarSong Issue1
Plot: Three students at Xavier Academy-sister’s Celeste, Mindee, and Phoebe- powerful telepaths have started to display new abilities (flight, and shooting fire). Emma Frost-who is now with Scott-feels responsible for them. Since they’re her creation. She has a vision of burning up not only her fellow X-Men but the world. (Similar to Jean Gray’s emergence as the Phoenix). But it could be that she’s sensing the triplet’s new powers (as she’s a telepath too). All the X-Men are taken by surprise. Especially Wolverine who one of the Stepford Cuckoo’s blows up. (Anyone else feel deja-vu?). And not only that two of Cuckoo’s dead sister’s (Sophie, Esme) have just in Thriller style risen from the grave!

My Thoughts: Pretty Good! I started this X-Men series because of the Gifted. This year (well last year because I’m re-watching them just to you know how you might miss something first watch and second you pay more attention) we’re introduced to the Stepford Cuckoo’s. First, we see Esme whose worried about freeing her sister (s) from a facility that likes to take Mutants and use them as weapons. Then by the end of the season (I’d missed some of the last episodes) we get Sophie and Phoebe. In this year’s second season (which is a lot better than the first because the first season was slow building that’s why I kind of lost interest in it initially) we get the back story about what happened to the other two sisters and the rest of the clones. So me being me wanted to read a little more about where there inspiration on the show was drawn from in the comics. And lucky you can find just about any comic you wanna find on readcomicsonline in their entirety. And this was decent. A lot of it reminded me a WHOLE lot of the X-Men movie the last stand. Especially the scene where they blow up Wolverine. This poor man just can’t get a break, can he? It is *so* good he has those healing powers. It even ends on an interesting note. Cause who doesn’t want to know about the two deceased ones bursting up out the ground with out a necromancy spell involved.
