Maybe it's just me but this book was just Meh. Maybe it was because I could see the ending coming miles away. Maybe it was because it was just one super long sex scene. Whatever it was I just didn't really get into this one. I know Alex Riley is known for short smutty stories and if you are looking for that you will enjoy this. I may read the others later when I am in more of a mood for smut!

I can’t give this five stars because it is no great work of literature nor one of my favorite books, but for the type of books it is, it was great. Girl porn at its best. I nearly had an orgasm while reading it 😜. I’m not into force, but I’ve read Alexa Riley so I knew this wouldn’t be really forced and was happy with the way the story went. Sexy, steamy and smutty.

Yes, I'm binging on Alexa Riley books.

This is a fast sexy weekend fantasy. I was trying to remember why I'd neglected to review it, then I hit me, this is the type of book that's really just about the make believe.

So the hero not only plans to kidnap her but he also plans on RAPING HER.
And I was all,
At first I was very uncomfortable reading this and I was thinking "Where in the hellloo is this going?" As these are clearly dubious consent acts that were happening. And by a member of the police force towards a helpless seemingly innocent woman!

As they get to the cottage, I was ready to stop reading because ick....Now you know it's Alexa Riley so things are rarely as they appear to be, so I continued. Hoping for some type of understanding when....

Oh my god, Alexa Riley is such a dirty, dirty, filthy writer. I love her! Her books are short, over the top, 100% about fucking, but sometimes, it's exactly what you need.
I must say I was very conflicted about this book right up until the end. I didn't like the hero at all and I just thought that the storyline was way too crazy but then Ms. Riley changed my mind with that ending. I was not expecting it at all and I loved it!!!
TAKING WHAT'S MINE was a very very very very very hot read, like expect a lot of sex and...just a lot of sex in general. But wait until the end, it's worth it!

This reminds of The Dark Duet series. Only it’s mediocre.
It also doesn’t add up – behaviorally.
3-star for the author because she has taken her OTT to another level and brazenly wrote something like this.

A short and smutty read. There’s a twist to this that I actually didn’t see coming, which made me like this novella much more. There’s not a whole lot of plot to it. There is consensual non-con, so not for everyone, but I liked it!

If this had been from anyone else but my new fave smut writer, Alexa Riley I wouldn't have touched this one because the words 'rape' and 'fantasy' simply don't belong together in my little world, but I decided to give it a go anyways.
I cannot lie, up until the twist at the end I was conflicted by this short read, kind of wincing as I pushed through to the end. Then all was well, phew.
Just like this author's other stories this features a filthy talker, dirty smut and extreme, base lust. There's not much of a story, but what there is is enough to bring the action vividly to life.
Not my fave from this author because it made me wince a little more than I'd like, but still a hot, although very dark, read if you can see it through to the end.

Es la primera vez, creo, que le voy a dar una mala nota a un libro de estas autoras pero es que NO PUEDO ACEPTARLO.
El libro todo el tiempo te hace creer que ella lo está pasando mal, que de verdad se siente violada aunque su cuerpo responda, y el suena como un maldito loco violador de mierda. Así que a mí que al final me salte con que están casados y esto ha sido todo un papelon que se han montado para cumplir sus fantasías pues no, no me ha ayudado a superar lo mal que lo he pasado. Quizá si hubiese puesto el final al principio y ella en sus puntos de vista hubiese dicho algo de no sé en plan: oh, el está haciendo muy bien su papel para cumplir mi fantasía o algo, quizá, quizá lo hubiese llevado mejor. Pero no. No. Es que se me revolvió el estómago leyendo este libro.

This one started off with soooo much potential. I mean, come on... It's called 'Taking What's Mine (Forced Submission)' and has one heck of a warning, but (and this is a huge but) I should have paid more attention to this part,

What I thought I was getting was a dark erotic book about forced submission with some dubious consent thrown in for good measure. What I got was . To be honest, I dropped a star just because I was mad about that. That is soooo not what I signed up for. Was it hot? Yes, at times it was really hot. At other times, the dialogue was a little forced and strange, i.e. umm, awkward moment... cue the crickets, especially if they were to each other who they were. By the way, I was at 88% when this little plot twist was revealed, which much to my surprise, I found out was also the end of the book. What? There's nothing else? Nope, just ended, and the remaining 12% is dedicated to an excerpt of another book.

I wanted to read this after reading her Taking the Fall series and really liking it. Starting this book I didn't know much just that a lot of people liked it and that the hero was very alpha. From page one I knew that the hero was very possessive but the more I read the more I wasn't sure if I liked it. Yes the book is steamy but very taboo however after reading it in it's entirety I can say that my concerns weren't anything I had to worry about. Yes this book is risqué but it's not what it seems and therefor I didn't have a problem with it. This is a very fast steamy, and hot book perfect for anyone who wants a book that is to the point and an escape.
