Eva and her friends race against time. A team of rescuers are on their way to Sydney to evacuate survivors of the outbreak, and if Eva, Wyatt, Jo and Ben don't make it there in time, they'll be trapped in Australia forever.
But with rage-filled zombies and unexpected obstacles threatening their lives, friendships and true love, will they make it to safety before it's too late?
Join Eva as she makes the treacherous journey to Sydney, overcoming zombies, setbacks and her own fears along the way.
A good conclusion to the Eva Series. This one is better than the first book but worse than the second one.The second one,"While We Fall" is the most interesting and strongest installment in this trilogy. The story is kind of meh but I enjoyed it anyway. It's about our kick-ass Eva,after all.I really like Jo and I'm happy that Wyatt and Eva are reunited.♥
Favourite quote:
"My newfound and hard-earned freedom had birthed fresh horrors: grief, despair, guilt and trauma. These were monsters I couldn't not outrun, hide from or battle with and axe."
Eva and her friends need to get to Sydney to reach a team of rescuers who will safely transport all survivors of the outbreak by boat to a haven. BUT if Eva, Wyatt, Ben and Jo don't make it there in time, they will forever be stuck and trapped in Australia forever. In other words they better start hauling ass ASAP. However to get to the rescue boats they of course have to get past rage filled hordes of zombies and unexpected crazy obstacles that threaten their lives. No biggie right??? Will they make it to safety before it's too late?
Eva and her friends must make it to Sydney if they want to be rescued. Only it is not as easy as it seems. They run into obstacles that could tear them apart forever and leave them stranded in this new wasteland of dead. Will they be able to leave it all behind? Or will the dead find them first?
Holy cow! I inhaled this series. Absolutely. Inhaled. This. Series. It was just oh so good and was the perfect series to get me pumped for The Walking Dead's season premiere. This author has a new fan and cannot wait to look into her other works now.
If you are a fan of Rachel Higginson's LOVE & DECAY serials...these quick reads should whet your appetite until the series returns at the end of the year. 5 Eeewy Gooey Bloody Stars!
4.5 stars. And so the series ends, I will really miss it, but I wouldn't want another book. For me the series is concluded, it is finished, and it has a perfect ending.
This book, like the second book, continues where the other one left off. Right after all that happened at Elliot's place, and instead of some quiet time from all the craziness, the zombies, the death, we are instantly thrown into a new situation, one I wasn't really expecting, one I was hoping wouldn't happen. But it still fitting and I am kind of happy it was added. However, it brought the book/series to a newer level, one with even less believability. Yes, the book is about zombies, but what happens in this one... well let me just say it was at times just highly unbelievable and while I did like it (kind of), it still felt like the book could have done without it.
The book is quite exciting, with Eva being separated from her friends, miles away from Sydney (where they were heading), miles away from any chance of getting out of her country. Luckily, Eva is a kick-ass girl and she will get to that boat even if it will cost her. I love her dedication. Even if she was alone, even when times were desperate, she kept going. She pushed herself forward. Many people would have given up. Would have just sat down, and died. Not Eva though, she has a few moments of desperateness, but she quickly defeats the dark demons and gets going.
And we have several new people in this book. We have Lea, who is searching for her girlfriend and who is totally kick-ass. We have 3 other people, including one character I didn't like.
Half of the book is Eva (and whoever she met) trying to get to boat, the other part is about the time on the boats. The realization about the zombies, the truth about the virus and the how and why it happened.
Even though I feel this isn't a true spoiler, I will tag it as such just in case.
The time on the boat isn't always paradise, and I really loved the parts that took place on the boat, especially the later parts. I didn't particularly like the photographer though. I get it is his job, but like Eva said, he is also human and should look further than just the prospect of money.
Though I must say I was just shaking at the stupidity of the people on the boat. Really? You thought that was a brilliant idea? I know you are doing it for this and that, but I don't think bringing that on board is such a great idea. Nope, not at all.
The ending? It was perfection and I just loved it so much. The interview near the end just gave the book something extra and I love that it was added. With that I can up the rating from a 4 stars to a 4.5 stars.
Again, I wish I could add these books to my collection (bookshelves), but I guess for now I will have to do with having read them, and loved them.
I would highly recommend this book to everyone, just like I would also recommend this whole series. Be warned, start with one and you won't be able to stop.
So in this last book of the trilogy, we will get through more of Eva's own path. Since they are going to Sydney for the rescue and freedom they have been looking for ever since the outbreak happened, will they survive as a group? Will they get the freedom that they've been fighting for?
This last book has been my most favorite among the previous ones bc it's pretty well written and we get to see a different perspective since most of this book is about Eva alone (spoiler). The author gaves us very creative and well described problems along the way in which the author really did a good job!
I just have my own perspective that is why I had problems with the whole trilogy, it's just that the problems rise every single time she finishes the previous problem. It's kinda stressful for me bc it's like Eva will surely die early if she was somehow a real person, including the fact that she isn't really emotional and mentally well even before the outbreak started and that proves that Eva was strong, determined and brave.
Overall I still liked and enjoyed the whole ride of this trilogy and doesn't have that problem with anyone, even the author bc as I said it's on my own perspective. Would recommend this book and surely loved this last book out of the trilogy!

I really like this third installment in the Eva series but I need to point out that the series isn't composed by three books but it's a book divided into three parts: in fact, every book starts right where the previous one has finished.
So, Eva got accidentaly grazed by a bullet that had previously killed a zombie. I thought about cross-contamination but the previous book didn't mention that. The third one does. Eva it's actually infected by the zombie virus and she's desperate because she doesn't want to turn.
I really like this last book. One minor flaw is that there are always new characters but most of them get killed after three or four pages. I was so sorry for . SIGH!
The was quite believable and well executed. While I was reading what happened on the , I was shaking my head like crazy. I mean, they really never learn!
To sum it up, I really like this trilogy. I wish it was a whole book but I did enjoy it. The first volume is the best; while the second is the worst in my opinion. Too many bad decisions and crazy people in there to be enjoyable. I absolutely love the main character because she was a kick-ass heroine with an axe. There is also a hint of romance which was a nice addition to all the gore. So, yeah, I'd recommend reading this series.
This was a great trilogy. All three books were great. It was action packed and not out there for a zombie story. It was fun and had you on the edge of your seat. It also showed how some would take advantage where as others held onto their humanity. Great Story.
Really well done. I enjoyed the last book of the trilogy and was sad to see it end. The strength of the characters, their friendship, and the hope they maintained throughout the whole book left me awestruck. A must read.
1st read 10/01/2015-10/10/2015 Read again- 11/05/2021-11/11/2021 SPOILER ALERT!! Love 💘this 📚series!! I love Eva and her crew!! This book had me on the edge of my bed biting my nails!! It has romance, horror, action, ❤heartbreak and everything! I hated that Eva got separated from her friends and Hunter their zombie killing dog🐕 they found, but I'm glad she did as well bc it ended up saving her! I just couldn't put this book down! It was that good!! This is a MUST READ for zombie lovers!! I loved how This one was a change of scenery too instead of running thru streets and driving they were on the ship's. While in the rescue ships, They learned it was officially a terrorist attack which of course is horrible! I enjoyed getting to know the new friends Eva made when she was separated from the others and I'm glad that some of her new friends survived too! I was so excited that Eva was reunited with everyone after her journey with new ppl. Some of the ppl she met were insane like Eleanor lol! But I guess everyone grieves differently. Her new comrades Ash & Lea seem like they will be great additions to her group. I still can't believe that even after Eva gave them Dr. Priyahs research in how to treat the Evisiro virus, the ship ppl still think its a good idea to bring live zombies on board to test and do research on. I mean come in, judge u not learned anything yet! Anyways ... great book and series! This Author is an amazing writer and can really paint a vivid picture in your head as if your actually watching a movie. I absolutely loved it!

"The Eva Series" was a fun, fast read. All of the main characters were likable and decently developed. The story was pretty good, but definitely could've been fleshed out more. It was well written/edited/plotted and thus interesting enough to have been a lot more detailed without becoming tedious. I've read better zombie books, but still found these enjoyable; they weren't bad at all. I liked that they took place in Australia.
Best ending I could ever have hoped for in a zombie series. It was cool and fast-paced. I didn't lose interest in the story as the story comes to a close. In fact, I don't want to depart with them. I loved the heart pounding and cute scenes in this series. JM Wilde is a great author and I'll be reading more of her in the future. Great way to end a series. Hurrah, for HEA.
While, again, I feel like this was way too short, book 3 was most definitely my favorite of the three. It kind of felt like the author really hit her stride by this point and the story was just fantastically rife with tension and emotion. Great end to a delightful little story.
I finished this is 2 days! I love Jen Wildes work! I haven't felt passion like this since I discovered Julie Kagawa! I couldn't put my phone down reading this! definitely recommend!
