Claimed by the Alpha Playboy had me engaged from start to finish. The story moves at a brisk, lively pace and never drags for a single moment. I was especially impressed by the world-building; the magical elements and atmospheric settings were beautifully described and pulled me right into the story.
Rather than letting a typical romance take over the plot, the narrative thoughtfully focuses on the deep trust and connection growing between the two main characters, which I loved. The side characters add wonderful layers to the overall story, and the sharp sarcasm and playful teasing kept me thoroughly entertained. I also really appreciated the dialogue—it’s crisp, it never overshares, and it keeps things moving forward, which is so crucial in a fast-paced book. While it was occasionally a little challenging to follow the dialogue during scenes where everyone was talking at once, it never took me out of the experience. The intimate scenes feel perfectly placed as a natural release of tension rather than just filler.
Overall, this was a pleasant, immersive read that I thoroughly enjoyed!
Juliette, a witch, and Tristan, a wolf, are fated mates and until recently they did not know. They both have memories that are locked up and inaccessible -- not quite amnesia, but parts of their mind have been deactivated, and they are unable to access it. Then, somehow the seal is broken and there are flashes of memory but not the full picture is available.
So, Juliette goes to Tristan's house and confronts him and his family. They work together to find out the who, what, when, and why this has happened. They need to break the curse before it breaks them.
Angst, drama, danger, and uncovered secrets make for an interesting story.
This is a Romantasy between and witch and a wolf shifter. It is very original in their journey. The couple have to deal magic, politics, deceit, memories and a lot of emotions. I like how the author works you through the emotions; it felt like I was experiencing it with the characters. The story slows at times, but was such fun that you had to keep going. I hope you enjoy this adventure as much as I did. I received an advanced reader copy and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I really liked Claimed By the Alpha Playboy. Some of it got a little confusing but it was explained later in the book. I liked the witch/werewolf matchup. I would have liked a bit more tension between the two main characters. All in all I enjoyed the read and can't wait for the next one.
Storyline was ok - sometimes confusing and complex. I lost interest and eventually just read the recap. Some spice but took a while to get there and not frequent.
