This was the first Bliss Devlin novel.

I thoroughly enjoyed this page turner about pure dedication and determination under great scrutiny and duress.
The characters are so easy to love and cheer for; well, most of them, though a few are infuriating and hard, if not impossible, not to hate. The love and strength shown in the main character group is inspiring and touching.

When relationships are forged in the fire, they burn so bright that others cannot help but be drawn in.

My anger kept me reading long into the night looking for some solace, a reprieve, whether it came or the anger remained I was never disappointed.

Book 1 should have been my clue that a cliffhanger was afoot, and sure enough, I am left screaming, "Hurry up, January; I have to know what happens next!"

Thank you for inviting me into this magical world. I cannot wait to see how these characters conquer all the challenges ahead of them and to watch the relationships bloom and evolve, especially one in particular. It is well written and perfectly infuriating; at times I wanted to throw the book at a wall, but I'm glad I didn't since it was an advanced copy on my Kindle! I will add a physical set to my collection when they are available to read again and release my rage properly. I'm definitely adding Bliss Devlin to my continue reading list!.

I love this series. Even if you didn't read the first set you can jump in here and still follow but I suggest reading before this too because it's just as good and amazing and you will fall in love with ALL the characters in that one too. I LOVE this one. I already love Juno and Mira and want them to be the next series as they grow, I want Elio and Talisa married with 5 babies now! Lol because he seems like the most perfect friend and sweetest half of her. This series pulls you in and you get so attached to the characters you already are invested before you know it and you can't put it down. Bliss is one of my top favorite authors ever and I will never stop reading her books they keep me wanting more and I think what makes them so great is that she doesn't rush anything. You get a chance to learn about the story, the person, the land and you don't know what is going to happen next which is so hard to find books like that nowadays. This is a great read and I am a long time fan that will always have a copy someone on me of her latest book. Get it!.

This the 1st book of a 2nd series that takes place in this world. I enjoyed this new story following Jacinthe's younger sister. The story focuses on Talisa but it also fleshes out the twins(Mira and Juno) as well. Talisa is very similar to Jacinthe in that she does not take crap from anyone and will stand up to bullies. This 1st book does not contain spice as the main characters are underage but it is still an amazing read. There are games and trails, tension but be warned there is a lot of bulling with pranks targeting the 3 sisters but they handle it all strength. They also experience loss and tragedy. If you read the 1st series, Darkstone Academy this book happens at same time as those events

Can't wait for book 2!!!.

Very excited to reenter the world of Mages and students. This time at the Imperial Academy. Meeting Jacinthe’s sisters and mother was a great opening to what was a very exciting book. The characters are lovable and yet the adversaries are written so strongly you find the whole book a roller coaster of magic and spells and very exciting happenings.
The conflict carries you along as Talisa grows, learns and finds herself working through challenges.
Class struggles abound-not just in the classrooms but all over the school. The twins became two of my favorites. 13 yr old girls with strength and wisdom, but also vulnerability.
I really enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to the next as the timelines get closer together between the two schools.

If you have not read the Darkstone Academy, I highly recommend!! It will give you a more complete look at the Bernswick Family; with that being said. I am so glad that Talisa grows into her own by trying to keep what is left of her family together. She is a great example of leading through fire and adversity. She is definitely the leader we need right now! The times you can tell that Talisa knows she needs to channel her mother even through her grief. Now the love interests(!): Elio seems like he definitely is going to keep himself alive during the toughest times while keep Talisa on a pedestal. I hope she gets together with Damien and Lukhan they seem to actually need her.

This book is a breeze to read with effective timing and complex characters. It’s a page turner always looking forward to what is coming next. This new series has my anticipation levels high! I cannot wait for where Bliss Devlin takes this new story of Jacinthe’s younger siblings time in the Imperial Academy. A must read if you like magical spells, immersive lands and a sprinkle of love.

I enjoyed the book. There was plenty of stuff happening and I did enjoy the trials. I really liked Talisa's strength. It's about teenagers so adjust your expectations on the behaviors of the characters. It is a longer read and it is read from 4 different perspectives. Book ends in a cliffhanger.
