Disclosure: The author shared a draft copy for me to read over the summer while he finished revisions and formatting.

This book covered a broad range of topics, all masterfully woven together and presented in an accessible way, to provide a useful and practical toolbox to help identify and decode misleading rhetoric. He drew from a few authors that I was familiar with like Dan Ariel and Daniel Kahneman and then expanded on their work with work by others and timely examples. He also did a good job of bringing in great analogies and successively building on concepts from chapter to chapter. That said, the content is also partitioned well between chapters. You don't necessarily need to read it from page 1 to the end, you could jump around between chapters and he also added a useful glossary at the end which also talks about where in the book the concepts are discussed and what other concepts they relae to. I found the book to be highly engaging, written in a conversational style.

Critical Thinking is a substantial and genuinely helpful book. It is filled with practical guidance, clear explanations, and a surprising amount of real world insight. The author keeps everything grounded and focused on problems people actually face, which makes the material easy to apply.

The writing is steady and approachable. The examples feel real, and the structure makes the ideas stick. It is not a quick read, but it rewards the time you put into it. You come away with a clearer sense of how to think with intention and how to cut through noise and bias.

If you want a book that strengthens your reasoning in a practical, usable way, this one delivers.
