Rate this book
"Sometimes it's best to stay out where you're not welcome."

Demented will chill you to the bone, for these are not your usual bedtime stories.

From a son who wants to teach his mother a lesson, a deadly myth on Kingly Road, people who have a certain bizarre diet, and more terrifying things than you have ever imagined—these stories will give you goosebumps, shivers, and more.

There are also stories about a vengeful unborn baby, a psychotic babysitter, and a creepy bus that leads you to hell. These tales will torment your head with eerie echoes and haunting screams, and compel you to turn and check what's lurking behind... every few minutes.

With twisted scenarios that will make you second-guess who you can and cannot trust, these are stories that may tell you what could actually be hiding under your bed... or perhaps make you realize that they're not under the bed... and that maybe you're the monster.

Anna Gallegos is an author of the horror genre who isn't very good at writing author bios but will try to make herself seem a tad bit interesting. She grew up with a love of books and developed a love for writing in the fourth grade. Born in Florida on August 9th, 1996, Anna had a liking for slasher movies and books at a very young age and thankfully not actually slashing people.

There are some stories I liked, some I didn't, but the majority I did enjoy and wouldn't mind reading again, hence the 4-star rating. I hope you all like this collection, too, as some of these are genuinely terrifying.

Amazing book, written by my best friend! I feel honored that I'll be in the acknowledgements and there's even two stories with a character based off of me. :)

Anna is a ridiculously underestimated and overly talented author in the horror genre who is very dedicated to what she does (I'd know!) and that shows in her writing. It's about time she got published honestly, we all knew it was gonna happen.

The book itself is absolutely great, full of unexpected plot twists that there's NO WAY you'd expect. Each story is unique, some a twist on original tales and mythical creatures, but some from the author herself's obviously great imagination. She captures the audience with each suspenseful short story from the very first few words the the end of the story, making us cling onto many of her very varied and different and original characters and wondering if they'll make it through whatever ordeal they face alive - which, with Anna, is unlikely! Anna's raw talent makes itself shown in each story as she explores the boundaries of gore, of unspeakable slaughter and paranormal, of psychological horror and creatures that can't possibly exist. She makes us wonder who to trust and when we're sure we know who's the bad guy she flips the tables and makes you question everything. Each story is so different from the last but she connects them all together - you might find a character briefly showing up in a different story. All stories are set in the same small universe and along with the amazing plot twists Anna adds in, this is truly revolutionary horror. Not only is this a book you can't put down, but even when you adjust to Anna's plot twists you still can't predict what's going to happen. She's great like that.

This book, now first in a hopefully long series, is worth your purchase 110%. You will not regret sending your money on it, I promise. This is horror to a whole new level - Stephen King himself would be unable to pull away. This book is worth your time and if everyone else enjoys it as much as myself and Anna's deservedly fast growing audience, this will be a best seller in no time. You'll love this book - I did.

Sinister Tales has to be one of the best horror books I have ever had the pleasure to stumble upon. With all honestly, I'm so immensely proud since this was written by my best friend Anna, who is just so terrifically talented and very nice to her fans. <3

The short stories in this book, I guarantee you, is nothing like what you've ever came across. I give you my word. The ideas aren't original but Anna always succeed in making them original by her incredible plot twists. These stories are no straight-forward creepypastas. They are wonderfully crafted and cleverly intertwined that you definitely will have a bunch of OHMYGOD moments reading them. Every story seems to be predictable at first, but as you dwell deeper, you find yourself lost in a mirror maze where there's a thousand reflections but only one of them are the true embodiment of evil. Can you find that one? 99.9% you can't.

Anna's intelligence shows through each phenomenal entry in this book. You honestly would never able to twist the details in a way so delicate yet so brutal like her. One moment, the end of the story is there, and the next you learn that it's actually an illusion. Get ready because when she says this is gonna make you explode in emotions, she means it.

Aside from the terror she makes you feel, Anna's stories are filled with meaningful messages also. She talks about the injustice in society, the inequality between male and female, domestic abuse, horribly mistreated gays. You will learn alot from her stories, and I warn you, sometimes you can even shed a tear.

Being a fellow writer myself, I admire Anna's writing skills. She doesn't have the best character development or pacing, but she has that unique style I'm certain will blow your mind. She's extremely dedicated to her works too and that's a marvelous thing.

Be sure to read this outstanding work by my bae! Trust me, you won't be able to put it down. ;)

This book was written by my dear friend Anna, whom I am so proud of for her accomplishments.

She has an extraordinary talent in writing that is rare except to a chosen few, and she has been using it to write works of horror that will match no other. Having a way of words that lure readers in from the start, she creates her own world of stories that horrify, yet entertain, and every so often, her twisted characters run into one another, which is always a treat to the avid reader.

When I first stumbled upon this book in Wattpad, I was captivated. Her creativity is incredible. Each storyline is so unique and impossible to predict that it in itself is a form of drug; it is the very definition of a page-turner.

Spanning through a vast range of topics that include everything from zombies to psychos to supernatural dimensions, her stories will never bore you with its spontaneity and you will keep asking for more. All the characters are so distinct that no matter how evil they are, you won’t help but love them like they’re your own children.

I am also deeply honored to be featured in two of the stories and the acknowledgments! Anna has always been my favorite author on Wattpad and to see her published is just wonderful. Her quality of work has guaranteed success from the start and I'm excited to see how far she'll go in the world of writing.

Honestly, I could go on and write a book about how amazing this work of art is. But, seeing how a five hundred page review wouldn't be appropriate, I will stop myself here and let you discover for yourself the phenomenon that is Anna's writing.

This book definitely deserves a spot in your bookshelf, so what are you waiting for? GO AND GET YOURSELF THIS LITTLE BUNDLE OF JOY AND HAPPINESS.

The book was a fantastic read! It was like reading a bunch of stories in one, and they reference eachother while you keep reading, making things fun to point out and laugh about, even though you could be in a serious, dark part of the story. The plots for each and every one of them make so much sense, making for more realistic ideas. I like how some of the regular cliches you see in horror movies don't appear as much here, and how there's always a plot twist that gets the stories very interesting. I rate 5/5, because this story is a great one!

Anna has never failed to send shivers down my spine. These are tales of mischief and plot twists, and they'll keep you on the edge of your seat even after the story has ended. She occasionally references other tales in new one, which is fun to catch on to! Demented is amazing.
