Decadence guitarist, Slade Christiansen has led the life of a rockstar for several years. He was getting bored with the same routine every night. Slade was ready for a change in his life. He wasn't sure what it was he wanted; at least not until he saw her. Once he did, he had to know her. And he would not stop until he did.
Emory Westbrook, a sweet southern girl living an uncomplicated life from day to day...until that night. The night she saw him. She was drawn to him. Emory's life was no longer simple. It became a mixture of ups and downs; experiencing things she'd never imagined. She quickly found out that falling for a rockstar was not all romance and love songs.
Will love help Slade be faithful while away from Emory? Will Emory be able to trust Slade with all the temptations out on the road with his band? Will their love grow stronger with these challenges they face? Or will it be too much for them to handle?
This is the first review I have actually felt worthy of a review in a long long while. In short this story's about a guitarist Slade Christiansen whom plays in a well known band. He's every bit of the bad boy Rock Star, a good guy, al'though I don't think he knew that he had a heart that could evoke such feelings. Until he meet Emory Westbrook. They both meet by chance in a shower room at the venue were the Band played. Also where Emory worked back stage. It was one chance meeting, the most beautiful girl Slad ever laid eyes on. For Emory in was supposed to be just one night. The story made me laugh.. Slad an Emory had this chemistry and banter that was really realistic. Their getting to know each other was so heart warming. I think it's all the stupid mistakes that Slad made that made the story. Salad was imperfect in his actions, and it's those little imperfections that made the book great. Best part was reading a story that really involved babies after their born, during the story and just not talking about them in the Epilogue. SO NO SPOILERS THEIR!!
I recommend the story and I enjoyed the authors writing style. The mention of songs they danced to was bonus. All the music that was not mentioned in the story was tragic and left the story really lacking. After all wasn't Slad in a famous band for Pete sacks. { pleassssseee give us readers some idea what the bands sounds like, or some of their songs they cover.} Cause of the missing notoriety of their music & their sound it had to give the book 3 STARS. WHICH SUCKS. SO I WILL RATE THE STORY OVER TO FOUR STARS SO SORRY. I JUST MISSED the BANDS MUSIC, and song cover title's etc.
Why was the book formatted the way it was? Why in the world would the author run on the characters conversations and "voices." The dialogue literally was just bunched together, every line just scrunched into one paragraph after another. There were no breaks, no differentiating between the different voices or POV's. The story could have been good but I couldn't get through the book because the dialogue was infuriating. I literally could not figure out whether the heroine was speaking, or if the hero was speaking. 2 stars was generous considering what a train wreck the formatting of this book was.
