Great book on Healthy Living

I enjoyed reading this book with its solid ideas for good health. I like the idea of focusing on building a healthy body rather than merely treating or masking symptoms. Americans’ health is truly going downhill, and we need to get back to the basics of giving our bodies what they need. This book does a great job of encouraging us and pointing us in the right direction.
(Incidentally, I knew Dr. Pete when he was just a kid in Minnesota. I’m happy to see how well he has done with his life!)

Good information

This book has good information. Everything makes perfect sense. I think putting the plan into place without support will be difficult, but possible.

I can't express in words how much I love this book. It deserves to be recognized by the world. This is heaven-sent. I learned so much about the importance of the food we fuel our bodies with and how it affects us overall. This book literally changed my perspective and my vision in life. It's the best blind-item purchase I've ever made. Whatever you're going through right now, try reading this book—it will help you a lot.

Different views of healthy

Interesting spin on the health craze. Many elements well accepted as needed for basic health. Enjoyed the body chemistry discussion about cells. Reader able to do half of what presented they would exceed their expectations.

Although much of the information was things I've heard before, I did find interesting tidbits of information--one was about intermittent fasting, which I wasn't familiar with.

I was a little put off by talking about this as a 12-step program; it is a lifestyle program of 12 steps, but 12-step programs typically refer to programs, like Alcoholic Anonymous and Overeaters Anonymous, that follow the same 12 specific steps. The author created his own steps for his program, which is fine, but perhaps a little misleading.

What an eye-opening book!

“America is in a health crisis.”

“Today we face a pandemic of chronic, lifestyle diseases that were hardly around a century ago. It is said that these diseases – cardiovascular disease, cancer, autism, dementia, auto-immune deficiencies – will affect four out of five Americans in their lifetimes! Can you prevent this?
Yes. You can change your life."

To say I enjoyed this book would be wrong – it woke me up to the difficult changes I need to make in my life. So I’m glad I read it! The author gives 12 steps to improving one’s health. Some are things I am doing already – some are not! The author spends a chapter on each step – such as identify (the problem), rest, detox and so on. Within the chapter he gives the reasons for doing so and stories of people whose lives have changed from following these steps.

I found the book good and encouraging for change. I really loved when the author threw in “Did you know” parts and “Wake up Call” facts. At one point he has several “evolution vs. revolution” steps where he describes a process for change – like “Step 1: Drinking little to no water. Step 2: Replacing sodas and coffee with water and caffeine-free herbal teas each day. Step 2: Always have a glass of filtered water near you during the day and drink from it every time you think of it. Step 4: Drinking half your body weight in ounces of pure, filtered water.” Instead of feeling condemned, I felt encouraged!

I highly recommend this book! I received this book from bookfun.org in return for my honest opinion.

Good high level info., as well as nice smaller transitions in each area. I like that it's not buy into this whole program, but more here are the areas and impact, and here's what the steps from really bad to really good are.

My biggest take away is realizing how much I need to work on managing stress.
