First off, LOVED THIS READ!
I thought the storyline was unique and well written.
For me, this was a recommendation from cousin TT. However, I did not realize it was going to be a series. Honestly, I might not have read it immediately because I was looking for a one off quick read.
HOWEVER, I am glad I did read it because I loved it...Where the story ended has my jaw on the floor.
The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of five was because a couple of minor details and a couple of times the writing was worded a little confusing TO ME.
Overall, it was an amazing story and I definitely plan to follow up with the series. Based on the way the author tells a story also has me wanting to check out more of their catalog.

I originally picked this book up because I was fortunate enough to receive the ARC for Book 2, and HUNTY… I’m so happy I got that ARC on deck! 😂
I’m VERY critical when it comes to books under 300 pages because sometimes I feel like there just isn’t enough time to fully develop the story, BUT when I tell you Ms. Dontrice didn’t have to worry about NOTHING?! I ate this book UP in one day. 😭👏🏾 And for me—a certified audiobook girly 👋🏾🤭—that is basically unheard of!
I genuinely was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. I dare say this might be my favorite kidnapping romance I’ve read so far! Now, I haven’t read a ton of kidnapping romances, but baby… this one got the #1 spot for sure. 😂
There were a few things I didn’t love, though, so if you don’t want to be spoiled, STOP READING RIGHT HERE. ⚠️🚨
🚨 SPOILERS AHEAD 🚨
• I guessed the twist pretty early on, but honestly, I didn’t mind being right this time. 😂 I actually appreciated the confirmation.
• Kori STILL ain’t learned her lesson about going out with Jada. 😭 Girl… how many times we gotta go through this?!
• He ended up being his father, BUT when we were in his POV, he acted like he didn’t know who had done that to her. That definitely threw me off because it felt a little misleading. When the twist was revealed I was sitting there like, “Now wait a damn minute… It was you and you acted dumb in your own mind!”
• Kori never had her kid. 😅 I kept thinking her being a mom didnt have any effect on the story...until it did.
• Dom was PERFECT. No notes. 😋👏🏾
• Jada’s ass is ALWAYS trying to go out. Girl, stay yo ass home Pick up a book or something! 😂😂😂
• There were some background details introduced early on that I kept waiting to see come back around, like Dom’s family baking business and Kori’s business, but they were never really revisited. I wanted a little more development there.
• I REALLY wish we had gotten to see how Jaylen and Kori actually met before the incident. He told her he had been trying to talk to her, but her stuck-up behind wouldn’t give him no play. 😂 I wanted to SEE that! How did they actually cross paths? What was their first interaction like in order for him to do what he did.
Honestly… THAT would be such a dope way to open Book 2. 👀 Because I’m still trying to figure out how these two are the same people if Jaylen is an pediatrician/OB. Like sir, WHEN did your paths cross before that night?! 😂😭
Overall, I really enjoyed this book way more than I expected to. It was fast-paced, entertaining, and definitely kept me turning the pages/listening. And considering I finished it in ONE DAY?! Yeah… Ms. Dontrice did what needed to be done. 😂👏🏾
Now I’m about to go straight into Book 2 because thankfully I got that ARC sitting pretty on my Kindle. 😌📚

wwwwwhhhhaaaattt did I just read
This book was sooo good! You got a Doctor that’s living a double life. That man is beyond sick in the head too. Kori got pregnant by her rapist and ended up in a relationship with him which by the way unbeknownst to her. I can’t wait to read book two. I will say the storyline was different from any of the other urban books I have read.

Good Book!!
This book started out with a bang!! It seams Kori cant catch a break. So far Im glad she's ran into Dom because Jaylen is a joke!! I cant wait for part 2 because that cliffhanger has my mouth on the floor!
