Never forget that there are things in the first push of a thunderstorm that are dangerous to you: hail, plow winds, and Wanderers. These spirits cross the plains with the weather fronts. They are looking to feed off of the energy of creatures, living and dead, who have been foolhardy enough to be caught outside in the rain.
The driving rain of Illinois can stop a lot of things too. This time, it’s a semi-trailer truck carrying a pair of African elephants who become lost and can’t forget that they have been hurt. They are haunted by memories, and in Bilbo’s case, the ghost of his former maniacal trainer. Tom Braverman has asked Murphy to help him locate these creatures before they hurt someone in their panic or are preyed upon by hunters. Mia joins them, and soon she is guiding them to a place where the elephants will be safe, knowing she will have to face an old foe there first.
Never forget that that there are some entities who won’t give up, that are willing to team up with humans in order to break and drive Mia towards them.
Most importantly, never forget that someone loves you and will move heaven and earth to keep you from harm.
Join Mia, Murphy and PEEPs as they navigate rural Illinois, an abandoned shopping mall, and things best not forgotten in “Never Forget,” the 15th “Haunted Series” novel.
My idea of a great vacation is a porch swing, view of the water and a pile of books to read. Once upon a time… I wonder if those words spoken to, or read for the first time, were the catalyst for the spark that lit the fire within us. To write and tell a story the way each of us does is a gift and a responsibility. We sometimes toil hours with an idea, or even just one sentence, not knowing if anyone beyond us will ever read our words. We do it for love. The love of bringing to light the world that resides inside our heads. It does not matter if we have a happy ending or a soulful gasp. What matters is that we put these thoughts on paper. So keep writing my friends. Keep taking us to the secret corners of your mind. Be brave. Tempt fate and above all enjoy.
The idea for Never Forget came to me from seeing a news report of an elephant who was keeping a semi-trailer upright on the side of the road. I started thinking about elephants and never forgetting...
I thought about how hard it must be to be haunted by memories that wouldn't leave you. Or worse yet, the creator of those bad memories.
Wow - who knew Mia drank Red Bull! Just when you thought you knew the way these books were going, Alexie Aaron goes and gives us another massive twist that we could never have come up with ourselves! I love these books - please hurry with the next one!
I just can't get enough of the PEEPs series by Alexie Aaron. In this book things happen with Mia and Ted causing problems in their marriage. I totally didn't see that coming! We have a new and very interesting character named Sariel come on scene. In this book the PEEPs team has an abandoned mall to investigate that houses more than just ghosts. It takes the whole team plus some to get through this major fiasco. The marital problems between Mia and Ted are causing much tension on the team. We see Mia's Aunt Beverley pop in unannounced to help Mia and find a way to make a few bucks for herself. The mean spirited Beth shows up to again do all she can to split Mia and Ted up for good and grab him for herself. Orion is a prominent figure in this story with new information about him coming to light. In a very surprising twist, Mike gets a much coveted chance with Mia, but you will have to read the book to find out how he handles it. I refuse to spoil any part of this story for you! All I can say is read it!!! If you haven't read any of the books in this series yet then start a the beginning with "the Haunting of Cold Creek Hollow". If you love a great ghost story coupled with a good dose of comedy you will love this series!
While I typically enjoy reading about the Peeps in this book the journey was arduous and lacked paranormal mysteries. I would enjoy seeing other favorite characters fleshed out. It is irksome to read where everyone admires and lusts after Mia. It is hard to accept characters doing and saying things out of character. I enjoyed a old much despised character coming back in but the confrontation fizzled. I expected more from that but it felt more like, "Oops, my bad. Coffee?" The tree was a nice twist as were a few feathery surprises. It's nice to see Burt showing emotion again. I am still waiting for Audrey and Cid to hook up. I wish that I could give this book a higher rating.
This book brings all the things I love from the series together. The characters are once again given triumph and tragedy that I wasn't sure they would emerge from. Several enlightening moments about exactly what our dear Mia is and the ending as usual leaves you wanting more. My only problem is that I wish Alexie Aaron would write faster, as I seem to never get enough of PEEPS. I give this a 5 star rating but it's really a ten! Happy reading.
I laughed cried laughed and cried some more alexie NEVER ceases to amaze me how much she pulls you in to the story and the characters feel like family u haven't seen in a while .....one of my favorites in the series..... but then again I loved them all......don't stop this series ever please.....
My first thought was "Elephants" Really!!. That was just the beginning of another wonderful story by Alexie Aaron. I read it twice within days, just in case I missed something..
It also amazes me how quickly she turns these books out. It seems as I was just reading NOLA and next thing you know here is this new incredible book.
Book of the series. I loved it! So much going on, several different action stories. I cried during the last part of the book and stayed up til 1:15 am to finish it!! I don't want to get into the stories because I don't want to spoil anything except there are elephants!! One more to go!!
Never Forget is my favorite book in the Haunted Series so far. I rated it so highly because you come to learn much more of what makes Mia who she is. This series is always a fun read and I love seeing what the familiar characters are up to in each new book. You know a book is good when you can't wait to start the next one!
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. I though these books couldn't get any better, but they can and did! This one is a real emotional rollercoaster, and leaves plenty of unanswered questions - making me desperate for the next in the series.
I was kind of hoping that Mia would not end up again with Ted. I liked the idea of her having her own house and space. It worked out well though. Looking forward to the next one.
I'm always happy when I see a new Alexie Aaron book...they just keep getting better and better...love the characters and the way Mia is coming into her powers is amazing...such a good read...
Another fantastic, edge of your seat read from Alexie Aaron! Once more, I was transported to another time and place, and lived Mia's ghostly - and life - adventures
Wonderful book. Love the series. The troubles they get into and their ups and downs makes you not be able to put it down. Enjoy seeing some of the old characters too. Can't read them fast enough. Just like Lays, you can't read just one. Keep them coming.
This one scared me which is really hard to do. Mia gets hurt so often but this time it was by an evil tree! I cried so much reading this book but I don't want to ruin it for you guys by telling you why.
Enjoyed the PEEPS works but too many subplots and got tired of reading how so many males want to make Mia theirs. Less lusting and more ghost fighting please.
wow! danger, misery, heartbreak.....evil Beth makes a nasty return. poor Mia. reread February, 2017. still a good story....love that Mia found a grandfather.
