-Disclaimer: I won this book for free through goodreads giveaways in exchange for an honest review.-

This book blew my mind!
It is very honest and informational.
It talks about spiritual warfare,
knowing our enemy, and letting
the Holy Spirit into our hearts.
Personally, I would consider
this to be one of the best books
I have ever read. This book
may be a challenging read
if you are not spiritually
active.

H1
Why don't we see people getting healed, raised from the dead, demons cast out? Because we don't walk in the Truth!
We are in desperate need of the proclamation of the gospel and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Deception will be exposed. Truth always provokes a response and produces change, whether positive (repentance) or negative (rebellion).

H2
Want waar God werkt, is het niet een kwestie van woorden, maar van kracht.
1 Korinthiërs 4:20 HTB

The Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of power. You cannot be in God's Kingdom and not have power!

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:2‭, ‬4‭-‬5 KJV

Paul: I know nothing but the truth that Christ died and rose again. The Power of the Holy Spirit bears witness to His resurrection.

Paul's ministry in Corinth was wholly dependant on the power of God to open eyes, move hearts and release the supernatural activity of the Spirit.

Why not in today's church? 3 hindrances:
1) it's not for believers today, it was only for the early Christians.
2) it's for the future Kingdom, not for today's Christians.
3) We fear it, or doubt it.

At some point our hunger must supersede our concern for the opinions of others.

You cannot walk in the power of the Holy Spirit without encountering spiritual warfare. The enemy is real and waging war against the identity and purpose of believers. In order to see power released in our lives, we must awaken to the battle raging around us.

H3
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 1:8 KJV

Power isn't an It. Power is the Holy Spirit.

We are given full access to the deepest parts of God's being - His thoughts.

But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
1 Corinthians 2:10‭-‬12 KJV

And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
John 16:8 KJV
We do not have the ability to walk in righteousness on our own. The only way to put to death the works of the flesh is through submitting daily to the Spirit's leadership.

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Romans 8:13 KJV

We grow in holiness just by talking to the Spirit!

Manifestations of the Spirit:
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
1 Corinthians 12:4‭-‬7 KJV

Not manifestations, but physical responses to the power of the Spirit: shaking, falling, laughter. It's part of the game, though it's not specifically mentioned in the Bible.
Discernment is good, but often mistaken by fear-based suspicions.

H4, the Sower
And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
Mark 4:13 KJV

Seed falling beside the road is not a problem. It just needs work. Often we fill our minds with messages, but they don't change our lives.

Seed on rocky ground is the second level of warfare. they are the people who are delighted to hear the truth, but fall away when affliction and persecution arise, such as rejection from family, friends, sickness, disappointment, financial hardship.

Seed among the thorns is the third level. It is found in the cares of this life and self-preservation. Jesus describes these believers: And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
Mark 4:19 KJV
(food, clothes, materialism, comfort, or the fear of lack, greed, fear)

And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
Mark 4:8 KJV
15 is normal, so our reward in Christ already exceeds our expectations!

God isn't the only one who sows; the enemy does as well. And we can also cultivate those seeds.
Knowing our enemy and how he operates will help us strengthen what remains, avoid unnecessary losses, and walk in greater victory.
Jesus says that Satan is the Prince of this world, acknowledging his current position.
Even a spirit filled Peter had demonic influences: you are never too mature, too anointed, too wise to fall.

Healthy respect:
Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
Jude 1:9 KJV
Satan has power, but our God is much greater!
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Colossians 1:13‭, ‬16 KJV

H5, Exposing the schemes of the enemy.

Our three-part nature:
'Laat het zo zijn dat de God van de vrede u volledig voor Zichzelf afzondert en dat uw hele wezen—geest, ziel en lichaam—zuiver blijft tot de komst van onze Here Jezus Christus. '
1 Thessalonicenzen 5:23

Access points into the soul:
1) Trauma
2) 5 senses
3) Deception
4) Generational sins (No more Deuteronomic curses because of Christ Jesus! - Only familiar spirits)

Demonic Stronghold: When a demonic spirit has the ability to consistently speak a lie and provoke a negative or sinful behavioral respose in us.

We don't need to dialogue with spirits and learn their names. We need to get to the root of the problem.

3 Levels of demonic influence (First evaluate the severity of the demonic bondage - discerning whether it is temptation & warfare or an actual stronghol):
1) Oppression: resistance of the evil one.
2) Tormented person: He is signigicantly deceived and unable to live according to the truth.
3) Dominations: When one who has never accept Jesus Christ as their savior.

H6, Operating in deliverance ministry.

Five Step Deliverance Model (5Cs):
1) Communicate. Talk and pray. You shouldn't be the one doing all the work; they have to want it.
"I take authority over you, unclean spirit, in the name Jesus:
2) Cancel. Demons will not leave until we take away their legal permission. We do this by repenting of our sin, forgiving those who have sinned againts us, and renouncing our partnership/agreement with the demons operating in our lives.
Prayer:

"Jesus, I believe your are the Son of God. I believe you died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. I repent of all my sins (list them!). I forgive all who have wronged me and harmed me. I lay down all resentment, hatred and rebellion. In particular, I forgive (list!). I also forgive myself for all the sins that I have committed against You and others. I renounce the demonic spirits that I have allowed into my life. I renounce the demonic lies I have believed (list). Lord, I ask you to forgive me and cleanse me by your precious blood. Right now I accept your love and forgiveness."

3) Cleanse. Replace lies with truth.
4) Command.
"I agree with the prayers and conffessions off (name). In the name of Jesus, I command every unclean spirit to go. Your power is broken; you will not manifest or humiliate this person in any way.

Let them repeat after you:

"In the name of Jesus, I command every spirit associated with the stronghold of (list) to go.

5) Counsel.

H7, Demonic world systems,

Our culture is against God. Economy, education, family, government, media, religion, sports/entertainment.

'For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. '
Romans 8:6-7
'For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. '
Galatians 5:17

As we begin to mature in our faith and learn to walk according to the spirit, we find ourselves rejected by the world:
' These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.'
John 16:33
'Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: '
1 Peter 4:1-4

Fear the Lord!! Seek Him daily!

H8, Our eternal identity.

When our knowledge of God is attacked, we will find ourselves in an identity crisis. How can we love God and our neighbours? This is what satan wants.
The moment we accept Christ as our Savior, we become these three things:
1) Sons and daughters of God.
2) The bride of Christ.
3) Priests.

'Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. '
Galatians 4:3-7
'According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, '
Ephesians 1:4-5
'Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. '
1 John 3:1-2

'There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. '
Romans 8:1-2

Then why do so many labor under condemnation? Because we have faith in the flesh and not the spirit. But if we walk in the spirit, we will claim our identity as sons of God:

'Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. '
Romans 8:12-14

Paul specifically contradicts fear and slavery with adoption and sonship:

'The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. '
Romans 8:15-16

When a couple decides to adopt a child, it carefully investigates the child. The child has done nothing to win them over, but the parents will love them limitless. Likewise God with us!
God is our Father, but not in the stern, distant, and patriarchal sense of the word. He is our Abba - a tender, affectionate, and involved Dad who draws near and fills us with love.

Romans 8:19-23 - The world is like a woman in labor, waiting for relief. Relief will come when we receive revelation about our identity.

We don't have to earn God's grace, we have it because God loves us as if we are His bride.

Let God defeat the forces of darkness. don't do it yourself.

Disclaimer: I received my ARC as a part of a giveaway and quit reading at page 41.

TL;DR - a poor introduction to those unschooled in spiritual dynamics

I was interested in the subject matter both from the artist\authorship aspect and my own personal interest. I have myself been to the international house of prayer Kansas city and the prayer room and some services there, so his position lent weight to his claim to expertise. The issue was the presentation in that the author took a covert but common confrontational tone in the exposition in addition to a grand lack of structure or sense of purpose.

As an artistic endeavor this work suffered from what appears to be a lack secondary authorship processes - focus groups, cross market pollination, market research. As a practicum it lacked encouragement and logos to the assertions it presented.

I applaud the efforts of the author and categorically promote future works on this subject matter.

This is an excellent book about showing all Christians how to set people free from demons, He reminds us Chritians we have the authority to do the works of Jesus. One theme of the book was very pertinent to me. After 14 years of impossible problems, and deaths in my family I was spiritually drained and I had no faith. After a move I found a new church and a pastor that helped me regain my spiritually health and wholeness. This author teaches us to move in faith rather than fear to victory in Jesus.
