Alien Hunters #3

Alien Shadows

Rate this book
On a dead world orbiting a black hole, shadows awaken. Some call them ghosts. Others believe them mere figments of the imagination. Yet for the scientists stranded on this rocky outpost, the evil haunting their halls is all too real. A handful of men and women have come here, to this desolate world light-years away from civilization. They came to study the black hole, this anomaly that breaks all their calculations. A black hole more like a living creature. A god of darkness. And through the halls of the observatory, this deity's warriors scurry, whisper, reach from the shadows. Creatures woven of darkness, of an evil from beyond. Only one team of heroes can save the scientists stranded here. The Alien Hunters have never faced anything like these shadowy spirits. They're galactic pest controllers, not ghostbusters. Yet as the evil from the black hole threatens to overwhelm the entire cosmos, the Alien Hunters find themselves staring into the darkness . . . and finding terror.

Daniel Arenson is a bookworm, proud geek, and USA Today bestselling author of fantasy and science fiction. His novels have sold over a million copies. The Huffington Post has called his writing "full of soul." He's written over forty novels, most of them in five series:

EARTHRISE — They came from deep space. They came to destroy us. Against the alien onslaught, Earth stands alone. But we will fight. We will rise. We will win. Start reading with Earth Alone, the first novel in this military science fiction series.

REQUIEM — Welcome to Requiem, an ancient kingdom whose people can grow wings and scales, breathe fire, and take flight as dragons. Requiem is explored in six trilogies, which can be read in any order. If you're new to Requiem, you can start reading with Requiem's Song (you can download it for free). For fans of dark, gritty fantasy like A Game of Thrones.

MOTH — Discover Moth, a world torn between day and night—its one half drenched in eternal daylight, the other cloaked in endless darkness. For fans of classic fantasy worlds such as Middle Earth and Narnia. Start reading with Moth, the first novel in this epic fantasy saga.

ALIEN HUNTERS — Got trouble with aliens? Call the Alien Hunters. A group of scruffy mercenaries, they'll remove the pest for you. Low rates. No questions asked. Start reading with Alien Hunters, the first book in this space opera series. For fans of Star Wars, Firefly, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

KINGDOMS OF SAND — Enter a world of sand and splendor, a world where gladiators battle in the arena, where legionaries and barbarians fight for glory, and where empires rise and fall.

Wow! Egyptian pyramids, black holes and four dimensional creatures lead to an exciting conclusion to this series. Seriously, the author could have kept going with the series and I would have kept reading. I loved the characters. Romy, the demon, cracks me up. She doesn't act like your typical demon and she has a teddy bear. I am sad that the series is over but I will probably take a look at some of his other work.

Not often I feel so pleased and relieved to finish a book. This one was awful. I've been kind to the two previous books in this series; because they're sort of fun now and then. Some of the characters are good, but all three of the main characters are boring. When one of them got killed I didn't mind at all.
The plot was predictable, the writing repetitive. I can't believe I've struggled through three of these.
What a waste of time!

I enjoyed the trilogy immensely, well thought out plots lines and good character development. Nice way to finish off the series but I hope for another book to have Riff and Nova get a more satisfying HEA. Good to see the Alien Hunters triumph yet again! Going to miss Romy and all her antics, quirks and odd dietary needs.

Never a final book

Great novel of the trilogy, looking for more from the author. Writes as a combo of stories like Star Trek, Stat Wars and a little of Edmond Hamilton's Captain Future.

Final book in the Alien Hunters trilogy, Riff and the team are heading for the 4th dimension and a date within a Black Hole. Good book, this has been a good series, doesn't take it's self to seriously, with interesting characters.

All 3 are wonderful!

One thing I really love about D Arenson is his creativeness of his creatures. Long after putting the book down, you will always remember them. His storyline is such that it is hard to put the book down!,

Sifi full of satire

I really enjoyed all the satire of this series,,, some so corny you couldn't help but laughing.
Good series without excessive bad language and sex.

In the Best Tradition of Pulp Sci-fi

Okay, it's not going to win the Nobel prize for literature. Nonetheless it is a fun read. There are two items I like in this series that I would like to point out: first, most of the main characters are not aliens, but races that evolved from humans over the thousands of years since they have expanded to the stars. Second, in this, the third of the series, the idea of beings which exist in four dimensions is the main subject. I enjoyed it and will try more from the author.

The final adventures of Riff Starfire and the crew of HMS Dragon Huntress - well lets hope it's not the final as more of these would be very welcome Mr Arenson!

This adventure certainly kept you on your toes, ghosts, death, self sacrifice, lots of alien species, heroic actions and laughter, lots of laughter.

And of Romy, the greatest demon to ever have graced the pages of a book.

A fitting end to a fantastic series. I've just got to choose which of Daniel Arenson's other series I will delve into next.

Alien Shadows(Alien Hunters Book 3)

Very nice ending for the Alien. Hunters trilogy. Mr. Arenson has left an opening for possible future adventures which I would personally enjoy. Read other works by this author as they are really worth reading.

excellent. trilogy

This trilogy was extremely easy to read, they kept you on tender hooks all the way through to the end, not knowing how it was to finish. I would recommend these books to anyone who likes science fiction as they are an excellent read.

Funny

Again, jabs and innuendo abound with the quirkiest crew of misfits in the galaxy. They manage to bumble around causing mischief and mayhem while saving the galaxy.
