Ella’s husband of twenty-one years demands that she accept a poly-amorous lifestyle and let his mistress move in with them. Ella believes in the sanctity of marriage and is convinced that time and patience is what her husband needs to recommit to their relationship.

When she tells the women in her quilting group about her husband's ultimatum they suggest that she have an affair of her own.

She is hesitant, but when a younger man comes into her life, her interest is piqued. Jesse is everything her husband isn’t. He’s attentive, kind, and gorgeous. Sparks flare between them, but is an affair all she wants?

I was given a free copy of this
book in exchange for an honest review

My honest thoughts was, I my self am a writer not published yet but still non the less a writer being home bound books are my only escape and this one put me right there in the middle of the drama and romance that is Ella. She is a true inspiration and whom reminds me of my sister (not the sex scenes obviously) For the children she will do anything but then her eyes are opened by a (not to mention SEXY) man. I cant help but say my eyes hardly left my computer screen for an entire hour I sat down and finished the book a rarity for me as normally I need to get up and do something else fifteen minutes later, as for hand held books I can sit for hours simply reading definitely a book I will read again in the future maybe even add it to my once a year list to remind me of the harsh reality many women suffer with emotional abusive husbands and that all women can have chance at real happiness and true love, yes its sappy but I believe this book is great, a modern adult age kind of Cinderella story if you change the evil step mother and step sisters into a cheating husband and Jesse into the prince you have it all.

Thank you Cynthia Clement for an incredible book a new favorite and I look forward to reading the next three in the series.

3.5 stars. The premise intrigued me, but I just couldn't connect to Ella. Even when we're told she was overwhelmed by the situation, it read like she was removed from it instead of actually feeling the expected emotions. I'm intrigued enough by the premise to read the next book in the series out next month.
