A cute story with a mousey secretary and a man who has broken away from his family after learning he was not legitimate, this is less successful as a romance and more as a family drama. I thought the hero's motivations, love and confusion with his place in his adopted family were really well done. So much so that I wish we got to see more of it. The heroine's tortured history (because everyone must have one in these books) was less convincing but still done well. Both the H and the h are decent people which was lovely as a change.
I would have rated this higher except for some off pacing issues. For example, I wish this was just slightly longer as it would have made the reunion a little more satisfying - the way it was done it was over too fast to be savoured fully. Still, the art was nice and it was a pleasant read so this one is recommended.
PS. It turns our Cinderella Bride is a really popular title for romance books. Makes me want to read a couple as a sort of a theme. Anyone want to do this with me?
