This probably deserves a 3.5 honestly. It was a good primer on the history of Assemblies of God, but it’s missing a lot of depth in the details it chose to share. Assemblies of God has both a rich and unfortunate history that, within its details, i think serve as an inspirational case for its theology, and for commitment to reform within the denomination. When you skip pass some details, you don’t let the mistakes of the past inform your next steps.
An example of this is that the boom talks about the historical meet up between COGIC and AG leaders in 2015, but it doesn’t explain how the original Assemblies’ racist actions and disposition caused COGIC to from in the first place.
But the primer is good for anyone trying to get an initial grasp on the organization, and this works as a beginner course for those looking to get credentialed.
