I discovered the X-Men through a novel I was reading (Eleanor And Park) and this was the first comic I could find in the humongous series of comics. And I'm glad this was it. I watched a few of the books before turning to the comics (I'm not a huge comics fan) and Logan was always the character that interested me most. So I guess it's only fair to begin here.
Though I gotta say, this volume has left me befuddled. I hope everything will be clearer as I read the rest of the series :)
I am not a graphic novel or comic fan, and this one was tough for me to get through - about halfway through I quit because I just couldn't do it anymore. The print was small and graphics dark and hard to follow, but I fully admit that could be because I just have a tough time with some graphics/comics.
I've been wanting to get the backstory on the common super heroes for awhile, but after multiple failed attempts at the printed versions, I am going to have to stick to the movies.
It was there, so I read it. Made for a fairly entertaining early morning jaunt, but as I'm not much into comic books, all I'm really qualified to say is that it was pretty ok.
Well, I have to say: this was a good start to the story. I admit I was a little bit confused about what is happening but I got through it. I'm certain the next few issues will clear up the air for me. And even if they don't, I have anyway watched the movies for a little back story now, haven't I? Hehe.
