Lily, you predictable perv. I knew you'd open this email faster if I tempted you with a glimpse of JT's "PP". Well, put your pants back on and grab some bubbly because I have much better news to share.

I got a job!

As of tomorrow, I'll be the new executive assistant at Lorena Lefray Designs. I am so excited, but there's one itty bitty problem: I won't be Lorena's assistant. I'll be working for her older brother, Julian.

I know what you're thinking - "But Jo, what's the problem?"

Google him. Now. He's the man in the fitted navy suit whose face reminds you that there's hope yet for this cruel, ugly world. Keep scrolling.... Do you see those dimples? Yup. That's the Julian Lefray I will be reporting to tomorrow morning.

Lord, help us all....

XO,
Jo

I love this author! Besides her flawless, engaging writing, what I love the most is her ability to create unputdownable stories that sucks me from the very beginning from one reason or another. My first thought after I finished this first book in the series was – What the hell I waited so long to read this one? Needless to say if you have it in your TBR pile read it ASAP because it’s totally worthy it, if not, don’t hesitate and add it. I guarantee you won’t regret it! 'The Allure of Julian Lefray' was such a feel good story. Funny as hell and sexy as fuck, this was a very entertaining, delightful read. I honestly couldn’t put it down and I enjoyed every minute of it.

“Ignore the tall, dark, and handsome vibe. Book boyfriends exist for a reason.”

Josephine ‘Jo’ Keller is a young woman who dreams big. She recently moved from her small town in Texas to New York to pursue a career in fashion. Her fashion blog is her little baby and she is more than proud of it, having enough followers to be pleased and also determined to become someone in the fashion industry. While her parents are more than skeptical regarding her career choice, Jo intents to prove everyone than she can make it in the big city. Invited to a fashion event she comes face to face with Julian Lefray, the older brother of Lorena Lefray, owner of Lorena Lefray Designs, the woman Jo just submitted her resume for the executive assistant position.

“He reached forward and gripped my arm just above my elbow as he leaned in to kiss my cheek. JESUS CHRIST. He smelled divine, like he’d spent the morning in the woods building me a log cabin. I hated him.”

While Lorena is in rehab Julian has taken over her duties. He is good looking and successful achieving quite a lot in his 31 years old. He likes Jo from the moment they meet, he is drawn to her beauty, exuberance and wittiness and without thinking about it too long, he hires her to work for him. Jo is more than attracted with Julian, but in order to work with him she has to control herself. She tries to remember all the reason she moved to NY, trying really hard to forget about her new boss’s dimples or abs, but it’s so hard to do that when your boss looks like a sex God.

"First, I needed a joke to break the tension between us.
Why’d the chicken cross the hard body of Julian Lefray?
To get laid.
Which came first? The chicken or me?
Shit.
I was in trouble if I couldn’t think of a non-Julian related sex joke."

I loved this one! Not only because it was so entertaining, but also many aspects were so well done and refreshing. I loved our heroine! Jo was my kind of heroine - smart, strong, determined, witty and so very endearing. I loved the way she believed in herself and the fact that she was not afraid to go after what she desperately wanted. Every aspect of her character was relatable to me and I have to say I enjoyed her personality immensely. I had a blast being in her and I really loved reading her blog posts. She was a well portrayed character I think everyone will find her adorable and delightful.

“He didn’t even know the effect those dimples had on my girly parts. One word: Ijustgotpregnant. Yeah, that’s one word.”

Julian was a fantastic hero from the beginning until the end. I’m sure he’ll make you swoon from the moment he is introduced. I loved his character and I loved the fact that he was not what I had expected after reading the blurb. He was not a cocky bastard, he was not arrogant and more important he was not a manwhore. Instead, he was just a wonderful hero who won me over from the start. I loved how loyal, sweet and protective he was towards his sister. Sex on a stick, Julian’s portrayal will leave you wanting more with each and every chapter. He will make you swoon and smile and he will warm your heart with his sweet and sexy lines.

“He wrapped his arms around my biceps and held me against him. His tongue slipped into my mouth and I moaned, pressing even closer to him. I could feel his heart beating in time with mine. This was it.”

I have to mention the awesome banter between these two characters. I simply loved it! It made me grin like a lunatic and these two kept me entertained the entire time with their sweet and funny as hell interactions and with their great palpable chemistry.

If you’re looking for a fun and sexy read, don’t hesitate and pick this one up! 'The Allure of Julian Lefray' was a fantastic angst and drama free read with two endearing main characters, engaging side characters and plenty of sweet and funny times.

He didn't even know the effect those dimples had on my girly parts. One word: Ijustgotpregnant. Yeah, that's one word.

Clearly I have been living under a rock lately, because this was my first book by this absolutely fabulous author. I know, right? I'm shocked myself! If I could spank my own ass for not reading her sooner, I would. Better yet, I'd like Julia Lefray to do it for me because if you haven't met this hero or have immediate plans to, you deserve a thorough spanking. Seriously. What's the matter with you? Add this to your TBR immediately. Right this second. As a matter of fact, let me pause my review long enough for you to do just that....
...
...
Done? Right then. Moving on.
Black slacks— not cute. White button-down—not cute. Fitted black jacket— ew. Who thinks defined arms and a broad chest are attractive? No one.
He reached forward and gripped my arm just above my elbow as he leaned in to kiss my cheek. JESUS CHRIST. He smelled divine, like he’d spent the morning in the woods building me a log cabin. I hated him.

If you're looking for a light-hearted, feel good, laugh out loud sort of romance, you've found your perfect match. This book was exactly what I needed. It was a little fluffy, a lot funny, with a dash of sexy, and entirely entertaining. I absolutely loved it. What did I love specifically? Pretty much everything. But I suppose I can give you a list.

The heroine: Josephine "Jo" Keller

Jo moved to NYC with big dreams and small pockets from her small town in Texas. Trying to prove to everyone, including her parents who believed she was better off staying in Texas, wrong and make a name for herself in fashion is no easy feat. But she's determined. Her blog has a great following and she's gotten the invitation to a fashion event that all fashion bloggers dream about. It's there that she gets the opportunity of a lifetime when she comes face to face with the gorgeous Julian Lefray, who happens to be the older brother to Lorena Lefray; owner of Lorena Lefray Designs and the company that Jo is dying to work for. Unfortunately, Lorena happens to be in rehab and Julian has taken over her duties. Fortunately, he's more than happy to hire Jo to be his executive assistant as she's more than qualified. Unfortunately, Jo happens to want to rip his clothes off whenever she looks at him and the feeling is very much mutual. Thus begins the golden banter and enough sexual frustration to make your ovaries implode.
The next time Dean invited me on his boat, I was going to come prepared with a box of condoms, a padlock, and a port-a-potty for the top deck. For fuck’s sake, I’d been two seconds away from reaching the pinnacle of nirvana, and White Wine Wendy couldn’t hold her pee for a minute longer. WE WERE ON A BOAT. Pee off the side dammit.

I. LOVED. THEIR. BANTER. So much. I didn't even mind that I felt like my ovaries were turning an alarming shade of blue from all the unfulfilled sexual chemistry. It was just that good.
He leaned back against the futon and spread his arms out along the back.
Perfect. He looked edible.
"You can't being me pizza late at night," I said, trying tog et my brain back on topic. "Pepperoni is foreplay to me."

I read this entire book in one sitting, completely unable to set it down for even a second. I had a goofy grin on my face the entire time reading it. Jo and Julian's banter when they were denying themselves was fantastic. But when they finally gave into the inevitable? Pure. Gold.
Nope. No...If that hand moves any lower, I'm going to karate chop you."
It moved lower and my body betrayed me. My stomach was like , "Meh, I can wait to eat," and my girly parts were lie, "HELL YEAH, this is a great idea." And that's the story of how Julian banged me on the floor of his closet with his suits and ties judging us from above.

There was no crazy angst or misunderstandings. I adored both the characters and the story sucked me in right from the beginning. It was the perfect afternoon read and one I'd highly recommend to any lovers of humorous romance. As a matter of fact, the whole book unrolled in front of me like the perfect romantic comedy. I'm not sure why I haven't discovered this author before now, but best believe she now has herself a bran new e-stalker (in the non-creepy way of course.)

You know what I really liked about this book? It doesn't pretend to be something else other than a sweet, funny, and light read. And for that, I give this one 4 stars!

I really enjoyed the characters. On paper, they weren't the type of characters I would ever thought of enjoying reading about but RS Grey made Jo totally lovable and relatable. And Julian is probably her sweetest hero yet.

Jo is someone who has big dreams for herself and she's desperate to get out of the small town she grew up in. Nobody understand her dreams. They were labeled as silly and frivolous by her parents. She likes fashion and wants to make it in the fashion industry, so she worked had to making her dreams happen. Her blog is her life and it was great how the author incorporated her blogging into the story.

Apart from Jo, I also liked Julian's character. I was expecting a total jerk that all the women just fall for but I was wrong. Julian wasn't an irresponsible manwhore. He's actually sweet and loyal. He was there for his sister. He protected her and their relationship was another thing that I really liked reading about. His one flaw was that he's a workaholic who doesn't allow himself to have fun and relax, which made Jo perfect for him.

There were a few plot contrivances that were a bit on the cheesy side but I gave it a pass because it was still fun to read and it worked out well in the end. Plus, this book really made me laugh and it's been long time since a book has done that for me. Seriously, some of the scenes in this book were hilarious. I finished the book with a big goofy smile on my face. Really, what more could I ask for?

Overall, the humor, the obvious connection between the hero and the heroine, the secondary characters and the easy writing of RS Grey made this book a winner for me. I liked how this sets up Dean and Lily's book, which I think is going to be a riot considering Lily is a firecracker and Dean is...well, you just have to meet Dean to know what I'm talking about.

FOUR HOLY GUACA - DO ME STARS.

"Do you see those dimples? Yup. That’s the Julian Lefray I will be reporting to tomorrow morning."

description

An RS Grey book is like a rainbow that appears just at the right time on a gloomy day. They never fail to make me feel good and I'm always left with a ridiculously, huge smile. This is exactly the type of book that I adore spending my time with. And I love this particular author's perfectly easy reading style that is happily combined with a killer sense of humour. (What's not to like about all of that)? With a smile a minute and and plenty to keep her readers interested, RS Grey has once again proved why I love to read her witty, romantic novels. 'The allure of Julian Lefray' has been on my radar ever since I spied the gorgeous cover reveal for this novel and I was pleased to discover that I loved what was inside just as much too.

What's it all about?
Josephine Keller is chasing her dreams in the big city. This Texas born beauty is ready to take on New York City in the hopes that her hard work will pay off and her fashion blog will finally get the notice it deserves. What she didn't expect was that she'd land a job where her boss is as distracting as a designer find in a thrift store. However, Josephine is determined to do all she can to keep her self focused on the task at hand no matter how tempting her boss may look in a suit. Julian Lefray is what every girl dreams of; big heart, killer looks and luckily for Josephine a big interest in getting her to notice him. But this charmer may have to work a little harder than usual to charm this quirky Texan. Follow the story of one girls rise to the top and one mans dream of catching the girl.

What did I love?
This book delivered exactly what I expected it to deliver; a perfectly, hilarious romantic affair that had me smiling from ear to ear. From its front cover to story delivery, to its comical one liners and romantic adventure everything pulled together to offer any light hearted romance addict the perfect getaway. I loved the heroine as equally as I loved the hero, (which in my eyes is a huge feat). Nothing makes me fall in love more with a novel then when I develop a girl crush on the heroine and that's exactly what happened here. Josephine was an absolute riot and I loved reading about her antics just as much as I adored watching this couple fall in love. As for the hero, there are zero complaints from me, his point of view and inner dialogue was positively dreamy. Taking everything into account there isn't much room left for complaint, it's a book that I won't be forgetting any time soon and I'm happy to recommend it to fellow addicts who love to read a 'feel good' romantic comedy.

Why not five?
Instead on focusing on the negative (because quite frankly id be struggling to find anything) I'd rather be explaining to you, why this book is a solid four. This story is everything that my romantic heart dreams are made of. Nothing to be worried about, no sign of angst or weird, annoying characters. Instead this author provides what every 'easy reader' craves for and I for one can't seem to get enough. There's nothing too out of the ordinary here and although it didn't leave me with that 'can't live with out reading this book again' feeling it was most certainly solid in its approach to provide me with a lovely reading escape and that's why I'll always be on the look out for more from this author. I have almost zero to complain about with this 'loved up' comedy other than my insane need for more swoons and giggles from this gorgeous author and let's face it any book that features a hero as golden as Mr Lefray will always be earning brownie points in its favour.

description

Final thoughts ...
Do I smell another up and coming book in this series? If my romance radar is correct then I'm hoping for this author to create yet another stunning contemporary romance and this time it looks like it could be a story about Dean and Lily (only time will tell). As for this little treasure well I can only hope that other readers will fall in love with Josephine and Julian as much as I have. RS Grey is quickly becoming an author that I'm finding hard to resist. Her flawless writing and quirky imagination all adds up to provide the perfect reading escape and I'm already excited to see what releases there will be in the future. If you love a romantic comedy that will leave with a happy heart then this is the book for you. Don't delay add this one to your 'To be read soon' lists. Enjoy ... Kisses.

✻This is not a review.This is the raving of a fangirl.✻

Oh.my.god.this book was fan-fucking-tastic!!A sweet, funny, sexy read that left me grinning like an idiot!!

“Ignore the tall, dark, and handsome vibe.Book boyfriends exist for a reason.”

Julian Lefray exists for a reason. To melt your insides into goo and destroy your chances at finding Mr.Perfect.I don't mind,I'd take Julian any day.

Josephine left her small Texas town and her overprotective parents and moved to New York chasing her dream;to make a name for herself in fashion industry. She was a popular blogger but that didn't pay her debts,so she took the job of Executive Assistant at Lorena Lefray Designs.Only she didn't work for Lorena but for her pantdroppingly handsome brother Julian. There was insta-attraction,but Jo wasn't willing to jeopardize her position and prove to her parents that New York isn't a place for good country girls,so she tried to resist Julian's advances. For a while.
“The morning light played up his hazel eyes and for a moment I was caught in his allure. The dark brows, the dark hair, the tan skin.A weaker woman would have thrown herself at him a long time ago.”

Excuse me while I fan myself and try to think of something else besides how devastatingly sexy Julian is!Phew!I swear if I ever encountered his dimpled smile I would giggle maniacally and I'd ungracefully swoon!

“One word:Ijustgotpregnant.”

Ok,ok,I'm getting serious.R.S. Grey's writing is really compelling, she wrote a story that could be easily turned into a Hollywood movie! The Allure of Julian Lefray is a book that combines romance, sassiness, funny incidents and a healthy dose of steam,a light read with not off-the-charts drama,a perfect romantic comedy!I laughed and enjoyed the banters and flirtations between Jo and Julian so much, they were both fantastic!!Jo is a feisty heroine with a humorous attitude towards life, you may think she is shallow because of her obsession with fashion but she is far from it!In fact she is a good-natured,determined girl who tries to balance her life and achieve her goals and falls in love with her boss.I already expressed rather enthusiastically my feelings towards Julian, but I need to point out that he is more that meets the eye!He is a sweet and loyal brother,a successful businessman and although he understood Jo's reservations,he fell head over heels for her and that made him adorable!

If you haven't read it yet,go for it.You're welcome!

Jo is the author of a popular fashion blog and she just moved to New York with the hope of making a name in the fashion industry. She’s lucky to get a job with a known fashion designer, Lorena Lefray as her assistant. But Lorena is going through a personal situation and his brother, Julian, came from Boston to take over the business for a while, so Jo is actually working directly with him. Despite they both feeling attracted to each other they all know better than giving into temptation. After all a relationship between the boss and the assistant is never a good idea, right? Yeah, about that…

Despite the slow start and the small amount of steam, this book checked all my boxes. The storyline isn’t original and you know exactly the path this book’s going to take, but I loved regardless.
What I love about Rachel Grey’s books is that despite its predictability (don’t let that stop you from reading, believe me!!), they are always sweet, with a quirk sense of humor and addictive. If you need a feel good book, any book from this author is a great choice. Her sweet and romantic books are always an auto-buy for me. Always.

Characters Development: Julian was great. He knew what he wanted and he didn’t go around it. He was honest, sexy and absolutely sweet sometimes. Jo was very nice, she was sweet with a great sense of humor and easy to like. I predict a second book between Dean and Lili which makes me really happy, because they were both awesome!

3.5 STARS! ★★★☆

"Do you see those dimples? Yup. That’s the Julian Lefray I will be reporting to tomorrow morning."

The one thing that I can expect when I pick up a RS Grey book is that I'll find myself reading something fun and hilarious with a dose of sweet romance. This one was no exception here and as I was flipping through the pages, I found myself chuckling at this author's witty, humorous writing!

Josephine is a small-town Texan girl with a big dream who runs a fashion blog called What Jo Wore. Moving to New York where she was about to attend a huge fashion event that could bring her closer to achieving her dreams, her stroke of good luck came in the form of one Mr Julian Lefray whom she bumped into that evening. Julian happens to be looking for someone to help him run his sister's fashion design company and being intrigued by Jo's character, he eventually interviews her and so the fun begins.

I really enjoyed how this read was fun and light-hearted, completely drama-free and had characters all over the place that had me laughing over the things they say. Jo was a wonderful heroine and very relatable without even trying too hard. I loved that she was willing to fight for her dreams even when her family didn't believe in her but her optimism and creative ideas really pulled her through. Most of all, her inner monologues had me cackling far too many times.

"First, I needed a joke to break the tension between us.
Why’d the chicken cross the hard body of Julian Lefray?
To get laid.
Which came first? The chicken or me?
Shit.
I was in trouble if I couldn’t think of a non-Julian related sex joke."

Julian also came as a surprise to me, he wasn't the typical rich, charming manwhore type. He couldn't deny the attraction he had for Jo but he was patiently sweet and fighting the blue balls when he's in close proximity with her. The flirtatious banters were just tethering the edge of an explosive chemistry. You can already imagine the sexual tension that was begging to be resolved and when it finally did, boy did it explode!

"The continuous tease of having to be around him the last few weeks had built up the desire in my veins. Each day the passion had built with no outlet for escape."

Overall I would recommend this if you're looking for a quick read that is fun, sexy and hilariously entertaining! The read did however fell short for me as I found myself expecting a little more from the overall storyline. Perhaps I was hoping for some angst but this book being its light-hearted nature did serve its purpose which provided me a good laugh and kept me entertained. But it was just one of those reads that would not have a lasting impression on me.

Definitely looking forward to a spinoff book that features both of the MCs close friends- Lily and Dean. I think that'll be an equally fun one to read! :)

The Allure of Julian Lefray is a standalone contemporary romance read.

Josephine is a girl that moved from Texas in order to make her dreams come true. She was always fascinated with all things fashion and she's a blogger, but moving to New York isn't easy, especially when you have loans and rent and no support from your family.

One day she applies for a position in Lorena Lefray's Designs and she discovers that she will be working for Lorena's brother, who by the way is a very handsome guy with dimples and a killer body.

Jo tries hard to resist his charm, especially when she can see that he also likes her, but he's her boss and she can't risk everything for just a man. The only way for her is up.

I really loved this book!! ♥♥ It was my first by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Her writing was so amazing! The humor, the cuteness, the sexual frustration were all very evident to me and I can't recommend it enough.

The only reason I'm not giving this a clear 5 is the ending. I felt like it was aburpt and I needed maybe something more before it ended. Maybe an epilogue, just to know them as an official couple? That would have been perfect.

Overall, it was a really nice read, light, fun and sexy.
Review to come. :)

Title: The Allure of Julian Lefray
Series: Standalone
Author: R.S. Grey
Release date: 29th June, 2015
Cliffhanger: No
HEA:

The Allure of Julian Lefray is a sweet and hilarious one.

Josephine Keller may have been raised in a small Texan town but she has always had big dreams. Her love of fashion developed at a young age and New York is the place where she always envisaged her dreams becoming reality. As new executive assistant at Lorena Lefray Designs, embracing the city and making her mark are temporarily distracted when she meets her boss, Julian Lefray.

I revelled in the ease of Josephine and Julian's relationship, the employee/employer dynamic was more of a friendship from the outset and my preconceptions of what I expected of Julian were dashed almost instantly. He was very much a down to earth character and his sense of humour combined with Josephine's made this the light hearted read I was was looking for.

Filled with witty inner monologue, instant attraction with the satisfying slow burn that blossoms to romance, R.S. Grey delivers another one of her romantic comedies I'm fast becoming to know her for.

More of a 3 1/2 star read, but I rounded up because there were a couple of pretty funny moments including an old person swinger party. As the heroine said, "not enough eye bleach in the world."

This chick-lit book is about Small Town Sally who is wide-eyed and fresh off the Greyhound Bus from Shit Creek, Texas. She always dreamed of moving to New York City to follow her fashion-loving dreams. And, somehow she made the trip and found a craphole apartment without becoming a prostitute, but it still isn't quite the fairy tale that she expected. Color me shocked.

But, at least she was starting to get the hang of how things worked.

Luckily for her, she happens to be absolutely gorgeous without having any idea that she is...... Shit... I need to lower my rating for that. I almost forgot to use my "Jilly's List of Hated Tropes", and it's definitely in the top ten. (In case you were wondering, stupid names are number one. Take that Patch, and Deuce- which was an actual girl name in some crappy past-book. I'm sorry but the only people allowed to be called Deuce are fat bowlers or fat poker players, and they have to be men. And fat. I don't know why, but it makes sense in my mind.)

So Wide-Eyed Pretty Small Town Sally gets invited to some fashion gala thing because she has a blog with like a couple thousand followers, which is totally believable. And, of course she meets up with the most beautiful sexy man in the world who just happens to be single, straight, and hiring.... uh huh. She's so captivating and "special" that he must hire her. She brings a lot to the table...

She totally nailed that interview.

The rest of the story is one as old as time: a boss trying to nail his secretary.
But, even with all of the strikes against it, the book was actually pretty funny and the characters are likable. I had fun reading it and I'm planning on going on to the next one. I'm sure it will give me some laughs as well.

FULL REVIEW NOW POSTED:

“He was sharp lines, hard edges, subtle lips, and inviting eyes. Every detail blended into an alluring combination, one that called to me like a bad habit.”

There are some authors who never fail to make me feel happy while reading their books and R.S. Grey is one of those authors, as I’ve come to rely on her distinctive sense of humour and ability to pen sexy, light-hearted romances that make me swoon though fits of giggles time and time again, not to mention that she writes sexual tension like a boss. This story was everything I hoped it would be and so much more. Once I started reading it, I pretty much gobbled it down in a single sitting, glued to the pages and the feel-good vibe of the story, and I still catch myself smiling every time I think of these characters. A delightful, fun read start to finish that I recommend wholeheartedly.

“First, I needed a joke to break the tension between us. Why’d the chicken cross the hard body of Julian Lefray?
To get laid.
Which came first?
The chicken or me?
Shit. I was in trouble if I couldn’t think of a non-Julian related sex joke.”

Josephine Keller is twenty-three and broke. She left her small home town in Texas and moved to New York City to pursue her dream of working in the fashion industry, but her hopes and dreams slowly start withering as she struggles to find a job, thus facing the very real possibility of having to give up her ambitions and return home defeated, proving all those who did not believe in her right. A chance encounter at a Fashion Gala, however, proves to be the very opportunity she’s been hoping for, resulting in a job she desperately wanted, if only her new boss weren’t also one of the best looking men she’s ever laid eyes on.

“He didn’t even know the effect those dimples had on my girly parts. One word: Ijustgotpregnant. Yeah, that’s one word.”

Julian Lefray might come from money, heir to his family’s old-money fortune, but he’s worked hard to build his own wealth, loving the independence it gave him from his family’s tight strings. He loves power and responsibility, but finds no personal fulfilment in the monotony of the corporate world, craving for a challenge. And that very challenge comes in the form of a curvaceous brunette begging him for a job, a job she would be perfect for, if only he could keep his hands off her.

“Josephine was quickly becoming my favorite fantasy.”

As they commence their working relationship, their mutual attraction is at the forefront of both their minds, but the more they get to know one another, the more that attraction grows into something they cannot ignore. They fight it, pretend it is not there, but their every thought is consumed by that attraction and the feelings they fail to hide at every turn.

“The continuous tease of having to be around him the last few weeks had built up the desire in my veins. Each day the passion had built with no outlet for escape.”

Now, you might think this is just another repeat of the well-knows scenario of girl-falling-for-her-wealthy-boss, but everything about this story feels fresh and unique. We are given a modern Cinderella-style setup where the “Prince” could very well ride in on his white horse, sweep the heroine off her feet and thus save the day, but this heroine is no helpless damsel in distress. She is proud and independent, and most importantly, determined to pave her own way in life, at the cost of her own heart if needed. Even at her lowest point, she never loses her drive, bravely forging ahead, and eventually “saving” herself.

“A weaker woman would have thrown herself at him a long time ago. Me? I had goals. Goals that didn’t include seducing Julian Lefray, my one and only friend in New York City.”

A charming love story, heart-warming and engaging—there is truly nothing I did not love about it. I loved the quirky characters and the sexual tension between them, I loved the humour with which this author never fails to paint even the bluest of situations, I loved the depth of emotion driving this story forward, but I loved its positive outlook on life the most, never showing life as anything less than a glass half full.

“Do you always carry a t-ball in your pants?”
“Jesus, Jo. Can we not talk about youth sports while I’m aroused?”

I think some books have perfect timing and this was the perfect book for me this weekend. The Allure of Julian LeFray is a fun, sexy read and I enjoyed every minute of it!

Lily has just moved to New York City to pursue her career in fashion. She is broke, lonely, but resilient. Lily is a great character, she is the type of girl you want as your best friend. She is witty, fun and super genuine. When she runs into Julian LeFray at her first big fashion party she decides to step outside her comfort zone and introduce herself.

Julian LeFray is successful businessman. He comes from affluent family and is very close to his sister. Now that his sister is entering rehab he is temporarily stepping up to take care of her fashion business. Julian is nothing like you would expect, he isn’t stuffy or unapproachable. He is confident and direct, but also comes across as a regular guy.

When Julian and Lily begin working together the story really takes off and I was in love. I am talking goofy grin on my face, so excited to turn the page. I loved the chemistry between the characters and how they fought their feelings. Lily has so much to lose if she gives into Julian, living in New York and following her dream is a once in a lifetime chance. She doesn’t want her reputation tarnished with a scandal, but resisting The Allure of Julian LeFray (<- like that little play on words) is proving to be more difficult than she thought.

Grey really hit it out of the park with this one! It is the perfect romantic comedy. I laughed out loud and swooned. If you are looking for a book with humor, sexiness and fun this is your book. I don’t believe every author can write humor without it being cheesy or over the top, but Grey definitely can. Highly recommend this sexy read!

This sweet and sexy book made me laugh, smile and blush. It hooked me from the start and kept me engaged, turning page after page without wanting to put it down.

Josephine “Jo” Keller’s home town is too small for her dream of making a name for herself in the fashion industry. With her goal set and not caring that she’s almost drowning in debt, she leaves her disapproving parents behind along with her very supportive and quirky BFF Lily. She moves to the big apple in hopes that she’ll find a job that will get her one step closer to her objective. And then she locks eyes with the alluring Julian LeFray whose job offer is both a blessing and a curse. Will his allure derail all her efforts?
“You need a job and he’s looking for a new assistant. Nothing more, nothing less. Ignore the tall, dark, and handsome vibe. Book boyfriends exist for a reason.”

Julian LeFray knows about business and investment, but close to nothing about fashion. Nevertheless, his younger sister Lorena, who co-owns LL Designs with him, needs his help. While temporarily in NYC and determined to build back his sister’s business, he’s put out an ad for a personal assistant. He never expected a fresh faced, social media savvy, southern girl to be not just the right fit for the job, but also the perfect girl for him. Can he keep himself form shattering the employer/employee line?
“Josephine had a freshness about her that her readers seemed to appreciate… She had hardly half the work experience of some of the other applicants, but I found myself already imagining her in the position. She and I could work well together. She’d make me laugh. Wasn’t that important? And sure, maybe I was also craving another glimpse of those lips.”

I genuinely enjoy R.S. Grey’s book productions. From the cover reveals, to the blurb and teasers, to the actual story, I know I’ll have a great time with it, and Julian and Jo’s story was a wonderful, laugh out loud, sweet escape.
“He didn’t even know the effect those dimples had on my girly parts. One word: Ijustgotpregnant. Yeah, that’s one word.”

Jo is the kind of character you’d like to be friends with. She’s not only determined, she’s sweetly adorable, with a great sense of humor, smart and easy to relate with. I loved how she didn’t give up her dream even when it seemed that everything was conspiring against her. It was great how she pushed herself into getting a second job that let her be at the right place at the right time.
"At times I felt as if New York City was trying to kill me."

Julian is not your typical alpha male character. He’s not sullen, surly or domineering. He’s a charming gentleman with the right amount of assertive authority and dirty mind to make him drool worthy in the most endearing way.

Though there were times when I wished they’d just get on with it, I understood Julian’s struggle with the tiny detail that Jo is his employee. I also respected Jo’s priorities and her resolve to stick with them besides the fact that she stood to lose her job, her only friend in the city (Julian) and end up broke if things went south between her and Julian.
"The continuous tease of having to be around him the last few weeks had built up the desire in my veins. Each day the passion had built with no outlet for escape."

Julian and Jo are adorable together. We get copious amounts of their great friendship, back and forth flirty interactions. Even though they try to ignore their attraction, setting lines that constantly blur or get run over by their sexy spark, easy banter and playful kinship, it’s hard to fight a pull that runs deeper than mere physical desire.

I also have to mention the great supporting characters that rounded out this great story. Starting with Jo’s wacky neighbors, Julian’s incorrigible friend Dean and Jo’s best friend Lily. The very one with whom she exchanges goofy emails and texts with showcasing their awesome friendship.
Josephine: Lil, I was just watching the sunrise over the Hudson and it reminded me of how beautiful you are.

Lily: Enough with your false flattery Slutilda. If you keep texting me, I will straight up kill you. LET ME SLEEP.

The Allure of Julian LeFray is the perfect summer romantic-comedy read. It’s fun, lighthearted, sweet and sexy. Told from both points of view. Even though I could’ve read it in one sitting with its great pace, it’s a full-length standalone with a happy ending I wish could have had an extended epilogue.

I'm rating this book 4.25 stars. So I've been waiting to read this for a while. And I wasn't disappointed. The biggest reason I liked this book so much was because it was very different and unique from the typical boss assistant romance. The dynamic between the two love interests was perfect. It wasn't tense and the dialogue flowed naturally. This book was also funny at times which made it that more enjoyable. So the female love interest I really liked. I didn't have any problems with her. And I have to say the Chanel shoe storie was cute. Julian was typical even thought I liked his charater I wouldn't say there was something that made him different from other male love interests. Overall I really liked this and am excited to read the sequel with a different couple.

Wait a minute...wheres the rest???? I feel like that totally cute and adorable book just...dead ended...

I enjoyed this! I've come to love R.S. Grey, this is her 4th book I've read, and I've loved them all, not like I love Scoring Wilder though...but this is possibly my 2nd favorite. I loved the characters, they were all funny, and amazing.....

I did not like how it ended, the words that were written were awesome, but I feel like it kind of just ended, no epilogue...nothing more on the characters...I was turning the page, excited to see what was next, and then...the Acknowledgements page was staring back at me.....I am quite saddened over this, I want to know what happens after they

All in all this is a way cute story. I laughed my ass off more times than I can count, which is of course, to be expected with this author. Can't wait to see what she has next...hopefully it involves Julian Lefray<3

it seems like everyone I know that reads romance pops a chub for r.s. grey, and I seriously don't get it.

I can't even remember how much of this I read, but it wasn't much. But girl shows up to Met Gala-esque event and gets flustered af upon seeing the dreamy mcsteamy man of her dreams and practically creams her ballgown. I mean yeah I understand being excited when a hot guy is around but I knew I wasn't going to buy into this romance. No thank you.

Very joyful reading. Lots of laugh and fun. It's very simple, and lightweight. Absolutely loved the heroine of this book.

"Even if I ended up on the streets, I’d be the only homeless person in New York wearing vintage Chanel footwear. Because I have priorities."

***Quick Review:***

Series: Stand alone. So far.
Grade: Chick Lit. Contemporary Romance. Office and fashion theme.
Main characters: Julian Lefray. Thirty-one years old. Investor and businessman. Josephine Keller, twenty-four. Fashion blogger. Totally funny heroine.
Secondary characters: Heroes of the second plan doesn't fail us. Dean and Lily, I can not wait to book about them.
Steamy: Meh. This is not that type of book. But there are light sexy good moments.
Sensitive topic:
Love triangle:
Cheating:
Cliffhanger:
HEA:

For who I would recommend? For someone who wants to read light and very funny romantic and fashion-related story.

***

About the plot: Jo is the fashion blogger. From the small village somewhere in Texas she decides to chase her dreams and moves to New York. At this point, completely broke trying to find a job and continue to write posts on her website WhatJoWears. Thanks to that, she appears on one of the parties where she meets a man.

Julian Lefray moves to New York to help his sister. Not too happy, but a family situation forced him to help her in the renovation of her fashion business. He hires an assistant, who help him in this.

You know how it goes further. But here, there is no normal relations boss/employee. They very quickly became best friends. Friends who feel attraction to each other, but try to avoid it.

Jo and Julian are wonderful together, they are getting themselves together in joyful situations. Only gets to the point where you can read about 50 Shades of Grey - Geriatric Edition and you will cry with laughter. And just saying. She and her inner conversation in her head? Priceless!

"Why’d the chicken cross the hard body of Julian Lefray?
To get laid.
Which came first?
The chicken or me?
Shit. I was in trouble if I couldn’t think of a non-Julian related sex joke."

Final thoughts: So why not five stars? As far as I understand completely crazy Jo, such thirty-one-year-old guy, not so much. They were perfect together. Like children, but very funny. I would like more read about their time together as a couple. I want a little more in the moments when it ended. And certainly at the very end. So all those little things have not given full of stars.

But I totally didn't know about the author and definitely I will read her next book. Very, very cool. Pizza with pepperoni will never be the same!

Next in the series? Uncertain for now but personally I'm sure it will be a book about Dean and Lily. Must be!

As far as romantic comedies go, I think R.S. Grey just about nails it. The Allure of Julian Lefray was my first novel by this author (although at the time of actually writing this review, I’ve now read another four of her books because they are just that addictive). Admittedly, the colloquial writing style felt a little extreme at first, but I ended up enjoying the eccentric humour. Even though I tend to prefer romance books with a deeper conceptual focus, there was something really refreshing about how comical and angst-free this story was.

Jo is one of those heroines you either love or hate, because she has such a strong personality. But I admired her snarky and unfiltered thoughts, which made her seem a lot more down-to-earth than most NA protagonists. The blogging aspect was nicely integrated, and it was heartwarming to see Jo grow as a character, especially in light of her financial struggles. Julian was honestly just plain adorable, until the aftermath of the boat incident, where he was a bit of a dickhead. Overall, their relationship was super sweet, and I liked that there wasn’t a huge emphasis on the boss/employee dynamic as some sort of angsty plot device – though the actual context of the job was slightly odd at times?? Still, I appreciated the fact that the romance was built from a comfortable friendship and not dominated by 99% lust.

By the end of the novel, I felt like I’d ridden a carousel about 603895 times, since the events kind of went haywire and I seriously couldn’t keep up with this couple. 😆 For once, we didn’t get a proposal or pregnancy, which was a welcome change. I do think some additional things could’ve been addressed, but it left an appropriate setup for the second one. I already liked Lily and Dean from their brief appearances, so I had a feeling I’d enjoy their book too (spoiler: I did).

Anyway, as cliché as the tropes might seem, The Allure of Julian Lefray is pure sunshine, and I smiled through the whole 366 pages. If you go in with an open mind and a flexible sense of humour, I think you’ll probably love it as much as I did.

Josephine Keller left an annoying impression to me for the first three chapters and I thought she's an overconfident wannabe fashionista. I misinterpreted her personality and she proved me wrong. She's a fashion a blogger on What Jo Wore from Texas and moved to New York City to pursue her dreams. Coming from a small town and broke, she badly needed a job to pay her bills and keep up with fashion trends. So, she attended this event to seek Lorena Lefray and hoping she'll secure a job in her company. Instead, she stumbled on her brother, Julian Lefray and she realize he was her boss while Lorena is on sick leave.

Later on the novel, I like Josephine. She's bubbly, creative, smart and hardworking. She remains positive despite of financial struggles and I love her articles about her shopping clothes from thrift shops. Nothing is impossible when you're a dreamer and I'm proud of her achievements. Her character development was more evident than Julian. Kind of disappointing because he's just the typical boss. If you know what I mean..

The romance was light. Jo and Julian are good together. Not as sexy as I've thought and it goes the cute side. There was one part that had me cracking up.. Jo's neighbor's party. Omg it was funny as hell and if I were in Jo's position, I probably want to bleach my eyes and never attend that party. Lol. 😂

The story started great but its epilogue was underwhelming and lackluster. It pissed me off because these characters have potential and that bland ending was an injustice for these two. Ugh. It's still a happy ever after but I think R.S. Grey can write a better epilogue than this.

Delightfully fun, flirty and irresistible. The perfect summer read!

Fun, fun, fun! This book was a joy to read. It touted great humor with some enjoyable tension and banter. Between giggling, swooning and flipping the pages as fast as possible, I couldn’t put it down. I loved the framework of the story. Loved that our protagonist, Jo, was a struggling blogger from small town Texas, trying not only to make it in her industry, but also in New York. And of course, as soon as our dimpled and alluring hero enters the scene, their moments together conjured a permanent smile on my face. R.S. Grey has this wonderful ability to develop relatable characters who you want to hang out with, who you want to laugh with. From the very beginning, I just knew this was a book I would love. It simply made me happy to read it.

The story centers around Josephine “Jo” Keller, a fashion blogger who focuses on style on a budget, while imbuing humor into her posts. She hasn’t had the easiest time in New York City since moving from Texas, and she’s nearly broke. This move was her big chance to do something she loved and she’s working hard to make it… to differentiate herself among the rest of the fashion bloggers. Jo finally lands an invite to a prestigious event, and it’s there that she comes face to face with the impeccable looking Mr. Julian Lefray.

“He didn’t even know the effect those dimples had on my girly parts. One word: Ijustgotpregnant. Yeah, that’s one word.”

Julian is the brother of Lorena Lefray of Lorena Lefray Designs, the company to which Jo recently applied. He’s gorgeous, wealthy and also just recently moved to New York to help his sister run her expanding design business.

Jo and Julian meet at the event, and quickly make an impression on each other. Soon after, Jo finds herself the opportunity of a lifetime working as Julian’s assistant. From the beginning, they have an easy connection, with a smoothly flowing relationship that vacillates between laughing and working, and well, er… lusting, lusting and more lusting. Because one thing is for sure, the more time they spend together, the more the tension escalates.

“The continuous tease of having to be around him the last few weeks had built up the desire in my veins. Each day the passion had built with no outlet for escape.”

Very quickly, the friendship becomes important to them both, but as their feelings morph into something significant and desire threatens to boil over, they must both consider what they are willing to sacrifice for taking the risk of opening up to each other.

The entire story is deliciously entertaining and a very quick read. Funny, light-hearted and romantic, this is the perfect summer read to gush about with friends. I look forward to seeing more from Grey, who is quickly becoming a go-to author for feel-good reading.

This was an enjoyable lighthearted romp.

There wasn't any needless drama or women that needed a good slap to come to their senses.
Julian was pretty hot, despite his enlarged blue balls. And you got enough time with the side characters to want to read their story next. It was simple, but it worked.

All I'd moan about is the lack of details. Sex details. When half the book consists of the two main characters trying to resist each other, you would expect the sex to be explosive. What you actually get (at 75% no less) is inadequate. In no way satisfying for my debauched mind.

But that's only a little niggle, otherwise, it's a thumb up.
