Wilde Security #5

Too Wilde to Tame

Rate this book
For three years, ballet teacher Natalie Taggart has lived across the hall from grumpy, reclusive, sexy Greer Wilde. Save for a handful of hellos and the occasional heated glance, they never spoke to each other. Until the morning Greer lands on her doorstep, bleeding, beaten, and bullet-riddled. Greer doesn’t need or want her help. He has only one revenge. And nobody—not his brothers, and certainly not his too-hot-for-his-sanity next-door neighbor—is going to get in his way. Each book in the Wilde Security series is a standalone story that can be enjoyed out of order.

Too Wilde to Tame sees the Wilde Security series come to an end and, after three years and much build up over the previous four books plus his links to the HORNET series, I was looking forward to seeing oldest brother, Greer centre stage as he has been a complete enigma.

"It’s time to tell them everything."

When a series continues over several books, I think you naturally have expectations particularly when there's an ongoing suspense element. So yes, I went into this with certain hopes: some of which were met, and some that weren't.

description

In terms of characters, Greer and Natalie were easy get along with, and although their chemistry was a little lacklustre, they were likeable and I particularly liked Natalie's fight. And, as has been the case throughout this series, the banter between the brothers and their love and support for one another was great, bringing humour and some emotion.

"We put the fun in dysfunctional."

The issue I had was the pacing: more needed to happen sooner and whilst it gathered some momentum along the way it wasn't until the last 30% when the story really kicked off. You can't deny that when Tonya Burrows inserts a twist or a red herring she's good and she did bring the unexpected, it just didn't have the impact of its predecessors for me because generally it was steadier.

"What was more frightening? Opening his heart to her or losing her?"

With a nice epilogue bringing closure to the Wilde boy's journey, this was by no means a struggle for me to read, it simply wasn't my favourite of the series. And I do hope we get to catch up with them in the future in Tonya's HORNET series.

First I should start off by saying I haven't read any of the other books in the series. And although I wasn't lost I assume that more background about Greer and his parent's murders was probably included in the first four books of the series. Although I did fine reading this as a standalone, I would suggest starting with the first book to get the full background stories for all these brothers.

On to my review. I REALLY liked this one. It was fast-paced and well-written. The story starts off with a bang and the twists and turns just keep coming through the entirety of the book. It was also surprisingly emotional. I was in tears on more than a few occasions.

description

Greer was such a broken character. There were times I would go from wanting to strangle him to wanting to hug him to death in the span of a few pages. His relationship with his brothers made my heart burst. Especially that epilogue. I am sure if you've read every book in the series that final chapter will be like the cherry on top of the cupcake. Natalie was the type of heroine I adore. She was tough and strong when she needed to be and I liked that she didn't let Greer treat her like dirt just because he was suffering.

Of course, we have a great cast of secondary characters since the majority are the brothers (and their wives) from the previous books. As well as Natalie's nephew Andy. Not much left to say really. This was just a really great read and I look forward to going back and starting this series from the beginning.

3.5 - "And break..." Stars!

Tonya Burrow’s returns with the fifth and final book in the Wilde Security series.

Five books, over three years, not forgetting the numerous cover changes in that time, and we are finally given Greer Wilde’s story, the eldest Wilde brother is carrying more than a few troubles on his shoulders and the author took a good 65-70% of the book exploring them while he carried on looking into the deaths of his parents.

"What kind of trouble are you in?"

"I don’t know yet."

I liked Natalie, a confident woman not afraid to stand up to grouchy Greer, but for me the story took too long to get going. The intimacy between them is very limited and the suspense aspect of the book played out in a rush towards the very end of the book.

"You’re too complicated…"

"I’m complicated… How’s that?"

"You’re too close."

"Too what?"

"To me."

I certainly didn’t struggle to read Too Wilde to Tame, and the banter between the Wilde siblings when they finally get back together bought a few giggles on, but I was kind of expecting more. More story, more sex, more depth, more development seeing as this book was the culmination of the series, and the explanation to Greer’s absence through most of the previous books, it just lacked a little impact.

"You look good with a smile."

Decent epilogue though, and I hope we get some updates on the guys and their women through future HORNET books.

Greer Wilde had to step up and raise his four brothers following the murder of his parents when he was 15-years old. He miraculously kept them together and started Wilde Security in an effort to continue providing a steady stream of income and maintain their connection. Now he's in trouble. Greer's been off the grid for over four months and he's in bad shape emotionally and physically but is determined to find and kill his parents' murderer. However, if his neighbor Natalie Taggart has anything to say about, that's not going to happen.

This is the final book in the series and Greer is the toughest and most secretive of all the brothers. Unraveling his story was heartbreaking and there was much to admire about this character. I liked Natalie, though she was often too good to be true. However, she was perfect for the extremely flawed and grumpy Greer, showing up as his angel of salvation and he deserved her. I was surprised at the resolution of the parents' murder, a nice little twist that satisfied my suspense itch.

Everything's answered in the lovely epilogue, a fitting end to a series I've enjoyed. While I'm sad to see it come to an end as I've liked the Wilde brothers and the women in their lives, it's good to know they'll continue to show up in the HORNET series.

Too Wilde to Tame by Tonya Burrows

Superior romantic suspense. Last in the Wilde Security series. I read it without reading the prior books and while I could tell which couples may have been in prior stories, this book was able to stand alone.

Greer was a hired gun for the government. He is dealing with PTSD and thoughts of ending it all. Natalie gets him. She has so much empathy she is able to stand by his side or hold his hand and he is instantly grounded.

The couple here connect so strongly it’s breathtaking. The hero is strong, yet so heartbreakingly committed to it being the end of his life. He realizes how much Natalie touches his heart and for the first time in forever can maybe see beyond this one task.

I’m a bit sad I started with the last book in the series. It was so good. I don’t usually like to go backwards but I will absolutely purchase the previous books because I want to get to know these brothers.
Greer is a hero that will stay with me for quite awhile.

Too Wilde to Tame

To my surprise, I liked this book more than I expected. Probably because my expectations were really low. Which results from the fact that I have not read the books of this author so far and in addition it is a short book which usually means undeveloped characters and an not fully formed plotline. I also recently had some unpleasant experiences with this type of stories. I'm glad I'm pleasantly surprised. That doesn't mean it's an excellent book, but it's fine. Reading it is not unpleasant experience.

The beginning is really good. You are immediately introduced to the plotline. I haven't read the previous books in this series but luckily it doesn't matter. The beginning is interesting and quick. The characters are strong and do not annoy most of the time. I don't have any problems at all about the general plot, it's okay. It is not overly complicated but definitely consistent and that’s always important to me. The identity of the villain is not as obvious as it may seem at first. This makes the ending even more fun. And I must admit that I did not expect that. In general, for a fairly short book, the plot is well constructed and even a bit complicated.

The characters are also ok. They don't stand out from hundreds of others, but at least I don't want to strangle them most of the time. There were moments when Natalie annoyed me. I liked her at the beginning, she is a strong heroine who can fight for her own. Later, she is a bit annoying when she exposes herself unnecessarily to danger. But the history of literature knows many stupid heroines who put themselves into far more risky situations. Greer is fine too. There are moments when he does not quite behave like a professional in black operations but it is nothing serious. What is worth emphasizing is that his mental problems do not end with getting to know Natalie but that he must work on them later. The idea that love does not solve all problems, especially health problems, is often overlooked in this type of book. The more you should appreciate it here.

All in all, this is a pretty good book. Certainly one day I will give a chance to the other book in this series and others by this author. Simple, quick entertainment with characters who do not annoy you.

I have been watching and waiting for this book for over a year. Thank you to Tonya Burrows and Entangled Publishing, LLC/Ignite for granting my request for an ARC. Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) provided by the Author and Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an fair and honest review.

Greer Wilde is the mysterious, brooding brother who disappears from time to time. My bet is he's CIA and can't quite get free of the Company. I really, really am ready for this book. When you follow a supporting character through several previous books and he is Greer, well, being impartial can be difficult, but I'm gonna try. So here is impartial: this book just doesn't live up to my expectations. The plot has a lot of holes and the romance is a fizzle, not a sizzle. But, Greer is the whole mysterious, brooding, sexy, spec-ops package, with a side of vulnerable thrown in for good measure.

After barely surviving a mission in Syria, Greer comes home to find the man he believes is behind his parents deaths. Before he can catch Richard Mendenhall, Greer is attacked and mugged. Greer has been MIA for over three months. His brothers are really concerned and his apartment has been "cleaned" by his Army Ranger Black-Ops superiors. And, his childhood home has been torched, burned to the ground. It almost seems like someone is trying to erase him.

Natalie Taggart is just returning home from work early in the morning from her job as a radio-show self-help guru when she finds her teen nephew, Andy, waiting for her and her neighbor Greer passed out in the hallway. Andy freaks and pulls a gun, Natalie freaks and protects Greer, Andy runs. What the What?? Greer refuses to go to the hospital and won't let her call his brothers. Natalie, having more than a little crush for Greer takes him in and tends his wounds. His biggest wound, the death of his parents and his thrust for revenge, can't be fixed with a Band-Aid and a kiss on the boo-boo. Natalie has to draw on her personal, deepest, darkest times in order to help Greer through his. Greer is determined to have his revenge and Natalie is just as determined to stop him. 3 1/2 - Stars

I've been looking forward to Greer's story ever since we first met the Wilde brothers, as the oldest he was the one who managed to keep the family together after their parents died and that's a lot of pressure to put on the head of one sixteen year old boy. You might wonder how a teenager managed to get custody of four younger siblings and keep a roof over their heads, well in this story we find out that and so much more. Greer gave up everything to keep his brothers safe and happy and he's been paying the price of that alone for years working black ops for a secret arm of the military.

If you've read the previous books you'll know that Greer has been missing for months and his brothers are going out of their minds looking for him. It all started with a mission that went to hell and it ended with a lead that could take Greer right to the person who murdered their parents. Of course that's if he lives long enough to confront the culprit which is looking less and less likely as he comes under attack from all angles.

Natalie is Greer's neighbour but she's never really spoken to him apart from to exchange a few hellos, she has been keeping an eye on his place for his brothers but the last thing she expects to find on her doorstep is a battered and beaten man who refuses to let her take him to the hospital. Natalie is at a loss, she can't leave Greer alone and injured but she doesn't know how to help him without calling for reinforcements.

I loved this story, I've waited such a long time to find out what was going on with Greer and it was definitely worth the wait. He's had the weight of the world on his shoulders since he was so young but he has helped to raise four incredible men so you just know he is going to be an amazing guy himself. Natalie has been through her own struggles and she isn't willing to put up with any of Greer's crap which I really appreciated. She called him out when he said or did something stupid and I think he needed someone like that in his life. There were also some great family bonding moments with him and his brothers and I really appreciated seeing them all living their own happily ever afters. This was a fab ending to the Wilde Security series but I'm glad we have a few more HORNET books to go and I'm hoping we might see a few of the brothers pop up as side characters occasionally.

Greer Wilde is on a mission of revenge and he expects to die trying, or shortly thereafter. After the tight knit brotherhood of the Wilde brothers over the last few books in this series, and knowing their concerns for their missing brother Greer, the opening of Too Wilde to Tame packs a solemnly heavy punch and sets the tone for this gritty series finale.

Greer is a tough guy, but his girl keeps up and pushes back. Natalie is graceful and strong—a former ballet dancer—and her personal history gives her the perfect insight into how to connect with Greer in just the way he needs. One of my favorite moments includes a post-shower Greer in a towel, finding an unexpected audience as he slams back over to his apartment across the hall in search of some clothes.

The chemistry between Greer and Natalie is scorching, but the scenes—while hot—are respectful and sensitively worded. I really enjoyed this book. In fact, I’m pretty sure I read it in a single day.

Tonya Burrows’s stories are always so memorable and full of all the things that pull on a reader’s heartstrings—heartbreak, self-loathing, selfless heroism, soul-deep love, crazy hot feels, danger and suspense. Her books are the whole package and every time I read one I want to go on a ‘Burrows binge’. Ms. Burrows writes intense, hardass, vulnerable military men with explosive chemistry and serious skills…both in and out of the bedroom.

Too Wilde to Tame is a MUST-read story if you’ve already started the series. Seriously, it couldn’t have ended better than this. And to Ms. Burrows: Don’t even stress about how the Epilogue turned out, because it was PERFECT.

This book is the icing on the Wilde cake!!! Greer Wilde, always the enigma. The oldest brother, the final word, the yin. I've always been intrigued by Greer, it's the mystery, the convoluted mystery that he is. He's Greer, total arse, grouchy and bossy, moody as hell and untouchable.

Greer is in one hell of a dark place, the last few missions have taken their toll. The loss of their parents when he was 15, leaving him to raise his brothers is the end of the road for him. Convinced they weren't killed in a robbery gone wrong, his last job is to find out who killed his parents. He's hot on a trail.

Greer has been missing, totally off radar; so long that his brothers are worried, no one seems to know where he is. He resurfaces back in the states sporting a gunshot wound, sitting in a dark bar watching someone from the past and that past is dark. Leaving the bar he has an encounter that leaves him clinging to consciousness, bloody and bruised in front of his neighbors door. Natalie (Tally) Taggart has lived across the hall from Greer for three years yet she knows little of him. She knows he's been gone, that she's been collecting the mail for his brother. Tally drags him inside her apartment not sure what to do, she wants to call 911 and his brothers at which point he's alert enough to say no. Against her better judgement she doesn't. Then there's her nephew who shows up and Tally is even more confused. Calling a friend who she knows his brother is an operative, she gets Greer the medical help he needs. And yes indeed is was nice to see that Texas cowboy once again! (You can leave your hat on) When Greer is back on his feet he goes to his apartment to find he's been erased. Greer doesn't ask, he demands. He wants Tally's car. Tally is stubborn among other things. He's got somewhere he needs to be and information he needs to get.

This is where the story starts to twist and turn, sifting through the players, his lack of trust, still avoiding his brothers and now thinking about Tally? Tally has her own story woven into this and she too is part of this twisted history, now present. The brothers catch on that Greer is back, Tally goes to them for help. Greer still sees himself as the parent, and it was nice to see him finally give in and let his brothers help and level the playing field. The plot has so many twists and just when you thought you knew... yeah well.. not. Tonya just yanks that rug right out from under your feet.

The last third of the book left me dangling by a thread and the epilogue left me speechless, I read it twice. Twice because it felt so real, so palpable, so infinite. I loved each and every book in this series, but this one is from the beyond. Tonya is such a gifted writer and wow does she hook you right into this one, just like every other book. Those Wilde brothers..... what I wouldn't give.

Yes, you should read this book. Read the series. I'd give it more than 5 stars. Hard to just slap a 5 on here when it deserves so much more. Beautiful story Tonya, all of it and all of them. Thank you.

A very emotional read in many ways. This isn't your happy go lucky story, but if you want substance this one is full of that and more.

When the Wilde boys were orphaned, their older brother stepped up to the plate at an age earlier than most. He continues to protect them in ways they cannot comprehend and will until he is dead. Which he hopes will be sooner rather than later. First though he has to avenge his parents' murder.

Reece shows up at Natalie's door beaten and shot and asking for help but no police and no hospitals. Her nephew has been in on the beating and it is obvious to Natalie that he's in some kind of trouble. Can she protect Andy while helping Reece or is it too much?

If you have suicide triggers do not read this book.

Well I finally rounded out this series. And Greer was definitely worth waiting for.

At 15 Greer looked after his brothers after their parents were killed but as we have seen through the series, he has become distant and remote and missing for a few months as we commence this story. He turns up beaten and shot in front of his neighbours door and grudgingly (because he is an arsehole) she cares for him till he is somewhat better.

Greer is seeking vengeance for the death of his parents. His life took a very unexpected turn when they were killed and he has had to do some things he would not have otherwise chosen to do to keep his brothers safe. We find out what this is and how it comes to pass as the story progresses and he and Natalie form a connection and then fall for each other.

Greer is so, so damaged. He has significant PTSD and suicidal ideation and it is just heart-breaking to watch him falling apart. I really appreciate a story that doesn't hold back on the ramifications of trauma and this was no exception. I also appreciated that Natalie doesn't 'save' him - she is certainly there and supportve a dn abig part of it but there was more involved and this was much more realistic when considering PTSD.

I loved how these two became closer and how the plot wound out - I certainly didn't see that coming.

An Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book was received free via Netgalley for an honest review.

I have loved Greer since reading Wilde for Her, the only other book I've read in this series. It was pure happenstance that I saw this book on Netgalley but I am so grateful I did. Because Greer is indeed just my kind of catnip.

Greer is the eldest of the Wilde boys, the father since the loss of their parents. Damaged beyond belief, yet as giving and tender as they come, he is exactly the type of guy I fall for every time. This time is no different. Greer slayed me from the very first to the very last. I was with him every step of this heartbreaking journey. Natalie was exactly what he needed: strong, loving, stubborn. And so deeply connected to the mystery it was a real struggle. I loved Natalie every bit as much as I loved Greer, at least in part because she too was emotionally damaged.

The plot was full of twists and turns and every one of the Wilde couples are fully involved in this book. I loved how family rallied to Greer and how truly beautifully it all came together. Together, the Wildes - but mostly Natalie and Greer - make a formidable emotional team who sucked me in and never let go. Too Wilde to Tame is the perfect ending to the Wilde Security series and I so look forward to the new stories in the connected HORNET series.

This is Book 5 in the "Wilde Security" Series and the last one and it was so very good that I didn't want it to end. I almost read it in one sitting because I couldn't put it down!

This book is full of action, great characters, amazing romance, great chemistry between the characters, revenge! It has it all! This is Greer's story. He's the oldest of the Wilde Brothers and he was the one that has the deepest emotional scars related to the death of their parents.

Natalie is also a great character and her interaction with Greer was awesome!

I highly recommend it. Great read

My first venture into the Wilde brothers series by Tonya Burrows is akin to stepping into a family business where there are secrets and dynamics previously explored that I hadn’t been part of. I felt as though a huge chunk of the Wilde brothers’ backstory—especially Greer’s—had eluded me at the start of the book and wondered for a moment, if I should have read the rest in the Wilde series before beginning this one. But there’s some kind of small crossover with Burrows’s Hornet series and this tenuous link bridge helped a little in shaping who Greer Wilde is after he appeared in ‘Honor Reclaimed'.

Much of what I’ve read of Burrows’s books thus far typically involve military-types coming back from the edge because a woman changes the course of a life not worth living and ’Too Wilde to Tame’ fits this formula. Enter Natalie Taggert, the naive radio psychologist and part-time dance teacher who finds herself out of her depth with Greer Wilde yet nosy—and possibly annoying—enough to want to be his fixer when he refuses help, resulting in an enormous amount of push-pull between them which formed the majority of the conflict in the story.

Yet Greer's history came in scattered bits and for the longest time, there didn't seem to be head or tail with this elusive, mysterious black-ops guy who led a life so secretive and so suicidal that I couldn't get a grasp on his character up until the pieces came together at the end. And a super-soldier he was as well, when he was able to get into enthusiastic sex when gravely injured.

I’m not entirely convinced by Natalie’s and Greer’s connection which seem to come from nowhere after Natalie takes care of his injuries—it all happened really quickly and suddenly love’s the word between them—but Burrows does make a case for why Natalie would be able to empathise with Greer’s condition. There are several odd connections in the revenge plot here, a little too coincidental for my liking when I’d been expecting more of a military-type thriller, but the book wraps up nicely with an epilogue that closes the door on the Wilde brothers.

I think I keep returning to Tonya Burrow’s books in part because of the very strong liaisons between siblings, friends and lovers that are characteristic of her characters. I liked that in the Hornet series and in this series about the Wilde brothers. I usually like her books and her characters and enjoy meeting them again in other stories (if I remember well, I even liked Gabe (“Seal of Honor”) better in a book where he wasn’t the main character).
Tonya Burrows does another tortured hero in this story, after having created the fabulous Seth Harlan of “Honor Reclaimed” (my favorite story so far by this author). Greer Wilde mixes the protective alpha maleness with broken and suicidal tendencies but the result is not so effective as with Seth Harlan’s persona, even if he is a likeable character. Greer lacks some intensity and there was so much going on his head that in the end I was asking myself how could such a troubled man work as special ops. But as I liked him as a character I think I’m going to reread how he was presented in the previous Wilde Security stories.
So, an enjoyable light romantic suspense read and now I’m waiting for Zak Hendricks’ story, another tortured hero, I guess…

Loved this book! I've loved the whole series and was thrilled to finally read Greer's story. Greer is the eldest of the Wilde brothers and has been missing for months. Greer has kept a dark secret from his brothers and has gone to great lengths to protect them, even removing himself in an effort to protect them from his world.

Natalie has lived next door to Greer for years, but he's only grunted at her. One day she finds him seriously injured, but refuses to go to the hospital. Natalie takes him into her home and takes care of him, never expecting that secrets in her life might intersect with secrets in Greer's life. What follows kept me turning pages just as quickly as possible.

This is a very well done romantic suspense novel that fans of the genre will love. While this is part of a series, it is a stand alone book, however it's so good that you really owe to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.

So, so good! Fast paced, high energy, and truly intriguing characters. This is Greer's story. He's the oldest of the Wilde Brothers and the one that carries the most emotional baggage when it comes to the death of their parents. Now he's looking for revenge and determined to find his parents killer. The twists and turns this story takes made the whole thing so exciting. I loved how Natalie handled Greer too. Never letting him get away with too much but being supportive and kind at the same time. Definitely a well done book and one you don't want to miss. I highly recommend it.

I have read the first two books in the series and loved them. I can't wait to read the other books in the series. This is the last book in the series and it was sad saying goodbye to Wilde Brothers, Ms. Burrows wrote a perfect ending for an amazing series. Greer made my heart hurt and Natalie made me proud. She was the perfect women for Greer. The banter between the brothers was amazing, loved seeing how the other couple were doing. I am always apprehensive about an Epilogue, because sometimes it doesn't live up to my imagination, but this book had a perfect epilogue.

> > Judging a Book by it's Cover < <
Bold, Vivid, Multi-layered design gives the eye plenty to look at. Fairly average font choices. This author is one of less than a handful of auto-buy names for me, so I'd not even bother to read the synopsis. But the blurb is intriguing and makes me want to read it even more.

POV ~> Third-Person
Greer - oldest of five boys. Takes on the weight of the world as a teen by emancipating then becoming the guardian to his younger brothers with the help of one of his dad's colleagues when his parents are murdered one night. Vowing to protect his siblings and bringing justice via revenge to his parents' killer, Greer becomes the darkest and solitary of the Wilde boys. Natalie - former ballet dancer due to injury. Now a night shift talk radio DJ with a psych background and teaches ballet during the day. She lives across the hall from Greer & has developed quite the crush on the reclusive grump. Already injured from a mission-gone-bad overseas and now getting jumped by a trio of teens, he somehow finds his way back to his apartment, but never makes it in. Natalie finds him in the hall after work, beaten and bleeding. And asking for help?!? He's hell-bent on destruction, she wants to save him. Chemistry is present, but there's a lot of push and pull. He has some a-hole moments, she's very smart, but too stubborn.
It's an all-star cast. The Wilde brothers and their respective women, a cameo from a HORNET, a phone call to another special guest, and some new faces with old ties. Dialogue had the smart snark, attitude, sense of humor and overall personality that I've come to expect from a BURROWS book and she did not disappoint. The cast interaction was believable. The plot was dynamic, it had depth and twists and kept you wondering and guessing about people until the end. The flow was amazingly smooth.
Most of the conflicts were internal, but those are usually the hardest. While most of the surface issues were addressed and resolved, Greer is still a work-in-progress in the end - but at least he fully acknowledges and accepts that.
The conclusion is solid and satisfying. It's bittersweet - to read the ending, knowing this is the last Wilde brother, the last book in the series - to know we may NOT get updates on the couples and their future lives. My only question mark left was Natalie's parents and their lack of responsibility toward the custody of a minor in their care.
Overall, I love and recommend this series and author to anyone that loves Romantic Suspense. Anyone who loves strong yet sensitive alpha man that are tamed by that one rare woman that completes him. Anyone who loves Smart, Sassy women that are not afraid to save them-darn-selves when they can. No damsel in distress just waiting for rescue here. A great blend of heat and heart. Adventure and Adoration.

Title: Too Wilde To Tame
Author: Tonya Burrows

4 unexpected stars

I went in not realizing that it was the end of a series - and i sit here writing my review, i wonder if i should have read the previous novels beforehand. Then i realize that it doesn't really matter because maybe not knowing the history behind who Greer is helped me connect with him better rather than finding out that he used to be an outgoing and bubbly type of person. Instead, i dove right into this book with no expectations other than what i read in the blurb and no clear hopes (on what i wanted to happen), which has clearly helped me enjoy Too Wilde To Tame more than i could have imagined.

4 breath taking dreams

It was interesting to watch as Greer and Natalie finally get together and discover who they are. Albeit not under the best of circumstances, one this is certain - the fact that he went to Natalie's spoke volumes and even more so that she took him in and nursed him to health. I was intrigued from the very beginning and now my greatest decision is when I'll be meeting the rest of the series!

***I received an ebook copy from the author for the purpose of giving my honest opinions. All opinions are my own.***

Greer is so freaking hardheaded and thinks he has to do everything himself. Always protecting everyone else but not himself.

I loved how Natalie gets thrown into this dangerous situation and just jumps in to help. She is tougher than she appears and just what Greer needs lol. Her nephew is a butthead and needs a swift kick in the ass.

These two together are dynamite and trouble follows. I've not read any of the other books in the series so I was lost on some characters, but it wasn't that big of a deal.

Overall a great book I'm rating it four stars!

I love reading about siblings with such great bonds in a series. Not only do they have a tragic past and a tight knit bond, they made me laugh and cry. There were moments in this book that tore my heart out. Greer raised his brothers after their parents murders. He started Wilde Security as a means to support them. His story is touching and if anyone deserved a happy ending, it would be him.

As for Natalie. Although she was to good to be true, she was there for him. She was not timid, she had to have fight and that was a great character trait.

The final book in this series ends with a great epilogue and a perfect ending.
This author really knows how to tell a story.

I got totally wrapped up in this book and almost cried a few times! Such a great ending to the Wilde Security books, each a standalone. This book is about Greer, the oldest of the Wilde brothers. He has just returned from his latest Ops in Syria and is ready to go after the person that killed his parents. He gets into a bit of trouble and ends up outside his neighbor, Natalie's, apartment. Natalie comes home to find her neighbor nearly passed out and looking worse for wear. This was a great story with a few unexpected turns. Can't wait to see what Tonya has next!

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.

Natalie Taggart, for the most part, has her life together between her jobs at the radio station and her classes at the dance studio, until the morning her nephew shows up asking her to cover for him and she finds her across the hall neighbor hurt and half-conscious at her apartment door.
Greer Wilde has been missing for the past 4 months and one of his brothers has recruited his neighbor Natalie to get his mail and maybe even keep an eye out for him. When he ends up at her apartment after taking a beating, she’ll start covering his tracks until she learns why exactly he’s hiding from his family.
This was my first read by the author and I found myself enjoying a rather engaging and interesting story. I found this book very nicely written, fast paced and with an element of intrigue and suspense I very much enjoy.
I really liked Natalie’s character and how she doesn’t let Greer with his tougher than nails, brooding attitude, or even her own family, intimidate her. This is a woman with her own demons, that has gone through her share of loss and depression and who is willing to go to any lengths to help this man as well as her family. The chemistry with Greer is definitely there, but I felt the relationship was a bit rush. I understand the circumstances of this couple make for one intense, raw and passionate affair, but I didn’t get that element of growing into the relationship along the story.
In all, this was a good read, and my one regret is not having found the Wilde Security series until the very last book. I would have liked to meet the Wilde brothers much earlier.

3.5 stars

I’ve only read a couple of Burrows’s books (the first couple of the HORNET series and the first in the Wilde series) but I remember loving what I read. I went through a period where I wasn’t all that interested in military/suspense romances so I missed quite a few in both series … and now I am SO regretting that decision! I loved these men and the spunky women who brought them to heel. I’m definitely adding her backlist to my TBR pile :)

Only having read one of the Wilde books I’m not sure how much the death of their parents played a part in their books, other than the obvious emotional issues. It definitely takes front and center here where Greer is on a mission to revenge their deaths by taking out the man that killed them. But you know it isn’t going to be as easy as that, right? Injured, he lands on his neighbor’s doorstep and things only get more complicated from there.

Tally has an awesome mix of strength and heart. She understands what Greer needs at any given moment, even if he resists her more often than not :) She’s definitely what he needs whether he will admit it - single-mindedly focused on his mission, he might not want a pretty voice of reason to get in his way but that doesn’t stop her from getting involved. I loved the back and forth between them. They make a great couple and meeting her starts him on the path to being the man that he can be.

Without any other story to guide me, the who-dun-it around the Wilde family is intricate and feels nicely complete. It kept me interested from start to finish and I was really satisfied with how it all tied together. The story is just as much about Greer’s redemption and the relationship that he develops with Tally (and redevelops with his brothers) but Burrows doesn’t scrimp on the suspense element.

For someone who isn’t all that familiar with the Wilde’s I didn’t ever feel left out. You can definitely start here but I have a feeling you’ll be adding some books to your TBR pile too! And I think that returning readers will love to see some of the favorites again, but also feel a little sad that it is coming to an end. But it won’t last long because Burrows is bound to give them something else great soon.
