Loved this, loved seeing this side of the war and how Bucky reacted to it.

I don't think I really understood this comic. The illustrations and art were all great but I just didn't understand it, you know. What exactly did Buck see at the camp?

Man, I really love Bucky.
Summary:
Late 1944 – Europe. Bucky Barnes and Toro go rogue on a covert mission in late 1944 Europe after overhearing that Allied spy Martin Schiller has been captured by Nazis. Bucky leads the unsanctioned rescue, uncovering horrific atrocities and engaging in a brutal, vengeful firefight.
Once Bucky finds Schiller, they attempt to break out, but Bucky discovers a dark, hidden section of the camp housing emaciated prisoners wearing Stars of David. Before they can be saved, Nazi guards indiscriminately open fire, gunning down the prisoners and leaving a mass grave. Enraged by the slaughter, Bucky goes berserk, lashing out at the Nazis with ruthless fury (all he felt was rage and horror) and destroying the enemy soldiers using his grenades and guns (he beat the shit out of them). Toro arrives to help secure the exit, melting a hole through a fence. He eventually persuades a distraught Bucky that there is nothing they can do for the fallen prisoners but safely extract Schiller and return to camp to report the horror with a larger force.

Damn these are the ugliest covers I've ever seen, shame as the inside art is excellent. The pit made me cry, damn.

I love Ed Brubaker. This is just wonderful five part story about Bucky. Really, really enjoyable read. Art and coloring is so nice and calming. Love classic paneling just feels great reading. Highly recommended!
