I was born in Istanbul, Turkey but have lived all around the world. My many travels have given me the advantage of immersing myself in various different cultures and learning more languages (yes, that way there are even more people I can talk to!).
I now live in Scotland, UK with my lovely husband and two daughters and have finally gotten around to putting pen to paper and actually writing those stories I have been cooking up since childhood.
My aim in my career as a writer is to give them the same few hours of enjoyment that I have gained reading my own favourite authors - for me there is no greater gift than that of fun and laughter.

I loved the fantasy world in which this story takes place. The writing described the world in such a way that it was easy to picture in my mind. I got caught up easily in the adventure, and read quickly because the story kept me interested and entertained. This book has an open ending which is to be expected since this book will unfold in a series of 5 installments. I personally prefer to read a full story from start to conclusion, especially when the installments end with cliff-hangers, but this saga is definitely off to an amazing start!
Highly recommended for tweens and teens, and readers of any age who enjoy fantasy adventure.
I read most of this book in one sitting and absolutely loved it. Although this is aimed at children I feel adults would love it too. The author hasn't dumbed down the language to suit children and I think it reads very well for all ages. Fans of books such as Harry Potter will love this story.
The characters are all very well written, and I connected with them all. The story kept a good pace throughout, there were no slow parts to the story.
The ending promises much more to come and I am quite excited to follow this series in the future.
This is my first book of Ela's that I have read and I absolutely loved it! Although the book is aimed at children adults would certainly still very much enjoy this book. The characters are well developed and very likeable, well maybe not all of them, but that's what makes it such a fantastic start to this story. I cannot wait to read more of Lara, Xan and co.
While not exactly an original story but perhaps a combination of several very popular stories, I still enjoyed it and read the 2nd book. I look forward to the 3rd book.
I bought this for my 8 year old and we started reading a chapter a night for bedtime. We both really enjoyed it and looked forward for the next night's reading to see what happened. I'm glad we have the second book to read next.
