Badass In My Bed: Badass #1

Rate this book
Rachel's life is music. She plays it, she lives it, she breathes it. And next week she'll start playing her cello with the Boston Symphony, which isn't exactly the kind of music career she wanted, but one that will make her father happy. And her happy enough.

But the weekend before she leaves for Boston, she meets Dylan. Tattoos. Biceps. Killer smile. Hard cock. Total badass. It's a surprise that he'd ever be interested in her, but he is. He goes against everything she ever wanted in a man... or, thought she wanted. But it's only for one night, right?

Get this serial on your radar people, you shall regret nothing. I am near combustion with need for book 2.

The sex is electric and will strike a chord you didn’t even know could be played. I am now convinced that window sex is the best sex. Completely hot and sinful, Dylan is sexy as fuck. Holy Rocker. sheeeeesh.

Rachel’s a serious kind of girl – she’s a little bit naive, but not so much that it drove me batshit crazy. She’s basically just your average good girl that is trying to do what she thinks she’s supposed to do in life. She doesn’t take risks – everything is planned, calculated and safe. But she’s about to leave everything she knows in Chicago and join the Boston Symphony Orchestra and she’s terrified. Her life is changing dramatically and while this is what she’s pretty sure she thinks she’s supposed to do, she has doubts.

Alex, best friend extraordinaire and and incredibly bad (or good?) influence, decides that Rachel needs one last night out on the town before she leaves. She also thinks Rachel needs a good fuck-off, I mean send-off…no, wait, I really meant fuck-off. So when Alex sees Rachel eyeing up the hot badass rocker looking guy in the corner of the bar, she makes their presence known. What are friends for?

And then, it begins. I really love Rachel – she’s a nice balance of wholesome but not too naive, sweet but not a pushover, sexy but not a tramp. And Dylan. OHYMYGOD. He brings out a side of her that she didn’t even know existed. [He can bring that side out in me anytime]. He’s tattooed, gorgeous and while a little evasive, he seems like a really good guy. She and Dylan initially connect on a musical level (even though at that point Rachel doesn’t know why that’s so apt) before they connect on every other level. The sex is thrilling, hot, and adventurous without being over the top and silly, and the dirty talk is phenomenal. Obviously there’s a cliffhanger…this is a serial afterall, but it’s not too awful as cliffies go. I CANNOT WAIT for book 2.

Watch this author. Get this book. You may need to one-click one-handed. Five stars!!

Now this is a pleasant surprise...

It's is a very quick read, that's for sure. Seeing that this is like the "first episode" only, the whole thing revolved around the first meeting, all in a span of 2 days. It finished so quickly, even I wonder if it really happened. While there's not a lot of story, it's laying down the foundation for what's to come.

Rachel is about to embark on a new chapter in her life when she decides to let her hair down for a night. Dylan was supposed to be just this random hookup. Rachel clearly has issues that she's dealing with, and Dylan, well, he seems to have a past and as to how his present life really is, we've yet to find out.

Now I've had my share of dark reads so when I read "badass in my bed", my attention is caught. I realized it's Rachel's version of badass. And keep in mind that Rachel is practically this goody-two shoes whose whole life revolves around music, and classical music at that. So yah, Dylan is quite badass if you see it from her POV. Nevertheless, in short an episode, Rae Lynn managed to fit in a lot of smokin times. Oh yes!!;)

And she even managed to fit in some philosophical conversations in there which IRL may be standard fare for dates but just felt a tad odd here...

It ends on a cliffie, but not too steep. As I hopefully get to continue with this series, I'm crossing my fingers that it will take me on an emotional journey in addition to getting more smexy times.

Dylan and Rachel did have an explosive chemistry!! He was a sexy rockstar, she was a cellist good girl.
There were romantic aspects in this short plot and steamy scenes.
Only Rachel’s pov, fast paced, very intriguing....
A fantastic and hot intro!

Wow. This book is incredibly great and hot. Good girl Rachel is leaving Chicago and going to Boston. Of course, she has to have a girl's night out with her best friend before leaving...and she must have a one-night stand, even though she's unsure about it. But when she spots hot, bad boy, Dylan, she's sure that's what she wants, just afraid to admit it. What drew me to this story was how I can relate a bit to Rachel. She was always in her comfort zone. She was shy and quiet and didn't know how to tell a guy what she wanted. In comes Dylan and completely changes her, in a good way. It's a tale of opposites attract. I can't wait for the second book because I completely fell in love with Dylan and Rachel.

Totally Badass!! I received an ARC of this book and it was fantastic!! This is a great story of a quiet girl who has led a pretty boring life and meets a hot rocker who brings out the vixen in her. The writing is fun and sexy and you fall in love with the characters. Rachel is hesitant to get involved with Dylan because he's not her normal type of guy, yet she wants to step outside her box for once and when she decides to take the leap, she discovers a whole different side of herself. Their chemistry is smokin' and the book leaves you saying WAIT! STOP! NO! I can't wait for the next book!! You're going to love this book!! :-)

A chance encounter of complete opposites.

A way to let go of a single minded focus for just one night.

An attraction that goes beyond the bedroom but due to the rules of their time together and the directions their lives are taking them in, that’s all it can be. Or is it?

Rachel is a heroine who readers will be able to connect with on a number of levels. She’s always been about goals, completing one right after another and proving herself capable in the eyes of many but most importantly her father. Her ultimate goal has finally been obtained but one interaction with a Beautiful Tattooed Boy and she’s questioning her choices, her focus, her drive for success when it’s all that’s made up her life for so long.

Dylan is the tall, dark, and handsome stranger who offers to be Rachel’s distraction, but it also seems like he’s hiding himself. Readers don’t learn too much about this badass, and I, for one, can’t wait to learn more and see where Rachel and Dylan’s connection takes them despite the opposite directions they seem to be heading.

Rachel and Dylan’s story will have readers questioning if being happy enough is sufficient or if stepping outside of your carefully constructed box and risking everything for a chance encounter with a man who is your complete opposite but makes you feel more alive than ever before is worth more than a distraction.

Let me just start by saying I enjoyed this book a lot more than I expected, it's only 68 pages, a first in series and I thought it would make a quick read plus the other two books in this series are on KU so if I really liked it I could continue.
Rachel is a serious musician, she's just graduated from college and has gained a place in the Boston Symphony, she's a good girl who's always worked hard sacrificing so much and so a few days before she leaves Chicago she's on a rare night out with her friend Alex when she finds herself inexplicably attracted to a hot tattooed guy, I say inexplicably because while he's undoubtedly hot he's not Rachel's type, she plays it safe with men as well as everything else, going for 'studious and compatible' what Alex refers to as 'uptight, passionless and boring' and so Alex decides to give her friend a hand.
The hot tattooed guy turns out to be Dylan and while his story is obvious, at least on the surface, it's Rachel's we're going to have to work for.
So Dylan and Rachel hook up and it's beautiful between them, they both give the other what they need and this is the strength of the book, I loved these two and I can't wait to continue on with their story.
It's very rare that I give such a short book 4 stars but since I really enjoyed this one I feel I can't really give less.

Wow!

Omg this book is not what I expected at all! What a pleasant surprise this entire story turned out to be.
This story is for all us girls that have that shy streak and don't throw caution to the wind. This story makes you want to just say, what the hell or why not.
Rachel is a skilled cellist leaving home to take a position in a symphony in Boston.
Dylan is a guy in a bar a few days before her move, the guy full of intrigue and charisma.
Can a shy girl with very little sexual experience, albeit good ones at that, throw caution to the wind?
Can she say why not? One last hoorah before she moves? Bring out the reckless side?
This is a very quick and must read!
I am moving to read the next one right the heck now!

First things first. The title is what caught my eye. Badass in my bed. Yes please!!!! This is a short read. But it's filled with all the things. A hot sexy badass. A shy, studious type girl. Dylan and Rachel meet in a bar. She's getting ready to move to Boston. He's in town for a few nights. Looks are exchanged. Some small talk. And the next thing you know...oh yeah. Hookup time!!! Good lord!! Miss Rae Lynn knows how to write sexy times!!! It's hot. It's raw. It's primal. Rachel decides to step out of her comfort zone and just let go. And boy does she. Dylan brings out the animal in her!! They spend some time together. Each knowing that they are both going their separate ways in a couple days. They make the most of it! You can obviously see the connection. But you also know they are both hiding something. We find out Dylan's secret. But what is Rachel still hiding?! This is what I can't figure out!! And I love a book that has me guessing!! The biggest twist comes at the end! And I can't wait to find out what happens next!!!! This is definitely a fun little hot read!! Make sure to 1-click it!!

I was gifted an ARC of this book, and boy am I ever grateful. This was a quick hot read that has left me wanting more.

Rachel is the type of girl who has had her entire life planned out for her. You’ve heard of the type before. She’s the good girl who just does what’s expected of her. So what happens when she meets Dylan and she decides that for once in her life, she is going to do what SHE wants to do? And what she wants is to take a delicious detour with Dylan. Their interaction and chemistry turns into one hell of a sexy ride. But will it end up on a dead end street or is a new road being developed? I can’t wait to find out.

I give Badass In My Bed 4 stars. This is a great start to a series and I am looking forward to what Rae Lyn Blaise offers next.

Rachel meets Dylan the weekend before she moves to Boston. The chemistry between the good girl and the bad boy is instant and she decides to live on the edge, outside her norm. Way outside. She takes him home for the night, and well...you’ll have to read it to find out! Oh this man! Dylan is the perfect mystery man. Wow. Tattoos. Messy hair. Body to die for. Killer Smile. So much more. I loved this story! Loved it! I cannot wait to read more about Rachel and Dylan.

What a great, hot book! Strangers in the night story with two people who have no future together, but feel a connection like no other.

Definitely worth the read! Rachel is getting ready to start a new life in a new state after she graduates, but is tired of always being the good girl and following all the rules.

Dylan is a guy at the bar who gets under her skin and turns her world upside down. The small amount of time they spend together is short, but intense, but then they each go their own way.

Then Rachel's world is rocked again. How will she move forward? Already looking forward to book 2! <3

Go read this book, so worth it!

Happy reading!

I was gifted an ARC for my honest review and I must say I was disappointed... That there wasn't more!! Omg!! Wow... Loved it! Opposites attract and they are HOTTER than hell!! Total Badass with tats and attitude. This good girl would go bad any day for a man like Dylan. Rachel knew that one night would be worth everything! So what's to lose? Maybe everything.

Wow, yes Wow! I'm a real fan of mini-series (or novella series) and this novella starts off with a bang. I should say a good banging!

Rachel has accepted a cello position with the Boston Symphony and will be leaving Chicago. While out with her girlfriend, for one final girls night-out, Rachel finds herself drawn to a beautiful tattooed badass. I love when they first meet and Dylan (said badass) discovers that Rachel is completely out of touch with present day music. Rachel's naiveté is genuine. She's been working endlessly to succeed as a cellist that she has hid from the rest of the world. The world goes on without her outside her apartment window.

Dylan takes charge and brings the world back to Rachel. He shows her the pleasure of living, and dam it's HOT! Rachel only considers Dylan a one-night fling because she's moving away. She doesn't push for more of him. She doesn't discover the truth about Dylan until after she's on her way to Boston and now she doesn't know how she's going to be able to forget him. I can't wait for the next installment. I'm completely captivated.

ARC given by the author for a honest review.

Holy F**k! This book is that HOT it will have you almost combusting on the spot! Literally!

The first book in the series see's Rachel, a brilliant Musician who has been given the opportunity to work with the Boston Symphony. On her last girls night out with her Best Friend, she is talked into striking a conversation with the gorgeous Badass, Tattooed stranger in the corner. Did I mention that he is gorgeous, completely and utterly fuckably HOT! Or and he has the most filthiest mouth you will ever have the pleasure of hearing ;-)

One night together is all that Rachel wants, she has her music career to think of. But after one hot night of pure sex and raging orgasms, Rachel realises what she has been missing out on.

Will Rachel see Dylan again when she moves to Boston and when she realises exactly who he is, the chances of her seeing him again becomes more likely.

I really need book 2 like now!!!

Rae Lynn is a new author to me but I will definitely read more from her.

Honored with ARC for my honest review. This book for me was like being on a roller coaster. The anticipation of clicking up the first hill to the delay at the top while you hover to the unknown. Call me crazy but I didn't realize this was a series. Yeah the whole book one should have been a clue in but... that being said I'm left waiting in free fall for book two. In this first part the author lays the foundation on how and what happens when a one night stand crosses into the daytime! The characters encounters were delicious and the unknown of what Boston really has in store for Rachel had me flying through the book. I can't wait to see how the author has Rachel and Dylan's path crossing and getting more of Dylan's bad boy persona. I have a feeling his controlling alpha attitude will come out to play hint hint!

Wow. Super steamy whirlwind romance.

Rachel is set to leave for her new beginning in a matter of days, could one night out with her bestie be too much harm??

Girls night out. We all know what happens on girls night stays with girls night but that may not be so easy for Rachel.
She spots a super handsome tatted bad boy in the bar and she can't keep her eyes if him, but he couldn't possibly be attracted to her, could he?

Dylan who has no surname (hehe will make sense when you read)
Tilts ;) Rachel's world on its axis giving her 48 amazing hours to rediscover herself.

Can Rachel ever go bk to the way life was before??
Will this be the end of the road for this musical pair??

Fabulous ending I didn't see that coming, open ending, I can't wait to see if there will be a second book #please xx

Lets start... My 1st rockstar and omg I am in love. Short but powerful and teasing. Rae has left me wanting more and more and MORE.
Rachel *clearing throat* is lovely and sweet and a good girl who wants to be bad. She is kinda leading lady I like.
Dylan oh my god Dylan. Charming, mysterious and Badass. And understanding sometimes. He made me feel for him way too quikly.
Can't wait to read the next book.
The Author's writing style is of my choice. Simple yet not dorky.

Please note this review may contain spoilers.

BADASS IN MY BED is the debut novel from Rae Lynn Blaise and be warned, it is a serial novella. I’m not sure how many books will be in this series, but currently books 2 and 3 are available for pre-order and are available for free with Kindle Unlimited, which is good because I personally think that paying $2.99 for a novella is too much.

Rachel is out with her best friend for their last girl’s night before she moves to Boston to take her place with the Boston Symphony. Before she goes, her friend tries to convince her to live a little, to maybe have some fun with the hot tattooed guy she can’t keep her eyes off of. With some meddling from her friend, she winds up at Dylan’s table and does something crazy and out of character; she takes Dylan home where he gives her a night she will never forget. But Dylan is so enamoured with her that one night isn’t enough and he comes back for not only a second night, but also a date.

Right from the start, you know that Dylan is hiding something about who he is and that he likes that Rachel doesn’t know who he is. He’s very perceptive and surprises Rachel with how well he can read her and what makes her tick. There’s definitely a spark between the two of them, which I think surprises them both considering she’s your prim and proper good girl while he’s your typical tattooed bad boy. These two couldn’t be more opposite yet they connect on more than just a physical level.

The novella doesn’t really end with a cliffhanger, but it does end with Rachel finding out who Dylan is while on her flight to Boston. What she’ll do with this information will hopefully come out in book 2.
